Look @ The Positives For The 06-07 Season

rodog

Practice Squad
1. We got rid of Casserly(possible the worst GM ever) 4 years of bad drafts

2. We got rid of Capers

3. With the loss vs. Tenn. David Carr has played his last season for the Texans. David Carr is a great QB, if your offense mainly consists of throwing to your RB in the flats, or a checkdown receiver. He is not a playmaker.

4. The 2005 draft was a great draft O. Daniels, E. Winston, D. Ryans.

5. DeMeco Ryans is an awesome LB, great nose for the ball. (Greenwood take note, that is how a LB should play)

6. Mario Williams WILL be a great DE.

7. Kubiak - great coach, Houston boy!!

So there you have it, positives baby!!! Carr needs to go back to Cali.
Are people still defending him? They use every excuse in the book!

1. It's the lines fault.
2. He has no running game.
3. His Wr's dropped passes
4. His QB rating is 112.6

Stop making excuses he has had 5 years to win and has failed! His QB rating is high because most of his completions are to check down revceivers in the flats for a gain of 5 yards.

I love my Texans.. looking foward to the 07-08 season. Or better yet the draft!! We will not make the same mistake TWICE we have learned from our mistakes.

Remember when the Rockets had a chance to draft Elsik HS Rashard Lewis another houston boy, who wanted to play for his hometown Rockets? Sound familiar V. Young fans?

I think that Carr's serviceable, but I don't think he'll ever get it done here. It seems like every sportswriter and radio personality in Houston has him playing somewhere else next year.

Where there's smoke.....

Ummm...bad example man. The three players the Rockets took in the draft ahead of Lewis aren't even in the league anymore. Lewis still is and he's doing quite well. :hmmm:

Seems a little underhanded by the media to overhype the Vince Young win because the defense let their guard down and gambled. Carr is very much servicable and still can pull our 6-7 wins. But realisticly, this team had more to munch on than the QB position. He still doing what is asked of him.

It's going to be funny when another QB is the starting and Kubiak is still having him dink and dunk up the field.
but one contant will remain.....they'll still be whining that we don't have Vince Young, boo hoo.

I tend to agree with that. David IS the Anti Christ...the sooner he is gone the better. Don't want no danged anit christ Cali guys on our football team.

My positives...we lost three starters on the o-line, two on the d-line, after we lost the franchise RB the first day of summer camp. ...and we competed at a very high level. With those injuries in the game sunday we should of gotten blown out. Which tells me along with the suicide squad guys on the kicking teams...this franchise finally has some depth. It not just a little corner we've turn. It's huge. I'm not going to post a 10-6 season next season. But I believe we're getting close to the end of the begining.

I personally think Hollywood John is full of you know what. He's torn the team down. People are cancelling their subscription...now he has to build the team up. It's all about moving papers...nothing more. It's a perpetual ping pong game. The only goal is to move papers. Nothing more.

I make the same arguement that I made when the board went blaistic over taking Owen Daneils last draft in the forth round instead of board fave Ko Simpson. This guy should know TE tallent. He coached one of the best TEs ever to come down the pyke in Shannon Sharpe. He should be able to find his QB. He coached Elway. He knows what he wants. It may not be anyone we've ever heard of. But the bottom line with him is that this guy , our home town guy, has waited almost twenty five years for his shot. He's not likly to do anything to blow it. Now as far as the anointed one is concerned. He's said all his says. The bottom line on vy is he is a loose canon. You're kicking Carr in the teeth, IMHO, you believe this way...you got the coach right there beside him. Up to you just saying. Had you 're hoot and holler over passing the guy up...but in Kubiaks opinion...the Anointed one did not fit his system. That's the bottom line on this thing. Hollywood John may regret now
that he's created this monster. But it's too late. He may retire befor he admits he was wrong....but my money is on Kubiak. Kubiak didn't make any mistakes. May well be DC is toast. The NFL is not a thirty nine yard sprint. IMHO, Kubiak will ultimatly have the last laugh. Just me, inspite of McClain and some on this board, I believe in the guy.

Don't forget when Sage went in against the Giants when DC got hurt he stayed on his backside.I also think there were some dinks and dunks.

1. You only had to face Vince Young twice.
2. The season only last 16 weeks.
3. In time something else will provide game announcers and late-night talk show hosts with comedy material.
4. By default of being in Houston the Texans have hot cheerleaders.
5. Soon you will have 36 weeks off before another losing season.

6. Mario Williams WILL be a great DE? What gives you any indication of that coming true? VY blew right by him - he was a total non-factor Sunday

7. Kubiak - great coach, Houston boy!! Unfortunatley you didn't draft the right "Houston Boy". Kubiak has been a good postion coach and coordinatoor, but that doesn't guarantee sucess as a head coach - ask several former coordinatoors turned head coach.

I love my Texans.. looking foward to the 07-08 season. Or better yet the draft!! We will not make the same mistake TWICE we have learned from our mistakes. A Vince Young/Michael Jordan type player comes around about once every twenty-five years. Thus you won't have the opportunity to make the same mistake twice. Nevertheless, Boob McNair & Co will screw up your draft anyway.

Looking forward to your next year's post: "Re: Look @ The Positives For The 07-08 Season"

Late!

Would those be the same people who were sure we were taking Reggie Bush in the draft, and then were sure we were going to take Vince, then were sure we were going to take Reggie again? The media has no idea what is going on and are saying whatever most people want to hear. The only way you get rid of Carr, who has a substantial bonus due even if he isnt on the team, is if Sage turns out to be Joe Montana in disguise. It would be pointless to draft a rookie (wasting a pick that could help this team a lot more at a differant position) who dosnt know the system, or bringing in a washed up veteran who's job will be to not lose the game. Carr isnt the reason we lose games, he almost never turns the ball over. However, so far this season he has made few plays that win games. Let him, Sage, and possibly a veteran QB or second day rookie battle it out in tranning camp. Draft Joe Thomas and hope to have Spencer back, then once the pieces are in place decide what QB you want to lead your franchise.

Carr's inability to make throws to his primary receivers is why we lose games. You cannot throw down to the flats or to a check down reciever and win games. You have to throw the pill down field. He has 2 pro bowl receivers and has run out of excuses

You're kidding me right! Good gravy man, the guy is practically guaranteed to fumble every time he's touched.:ok:

Get ready, your going to be crying next year too, Carr will be here next year, you are all fooling yourselves if you think that radio personalities (especially the ametures on 610am) and armchair QB on this forum are going to make the front office get rid of a good QB while there are so many glaringly bad players to replace on the team.

You mean the Pro Bowl receivers inability to catch passes down field, Andre has dropped more balls this year than many recievers have caught.

also, what excuses has Carr made? Name one that you have heard him make.

Just more misinformed crap from an ill informed poster who has jumped on the latest bandwagon and has no idea what he is talking about.

extreme hatred for Carr seems to have that effect on folks ...

that what you want? a serviceable QB?

A serviceable QB can win the superbowl, ask Brad Johnson & Trent Dilfer.

A Serviceable QB can at least lead you to one ask Kerry Collins, Stan Humphries & hosts of other Superbowl losing QB's. See where i'm going with this?
