BRING DAUNTE CULPEPPER to HOUSTON!!

Maybe we could bring both Moss and Culpepper to Houston. Maybe that'd turn things around.

Culpepper is no good behind porous o-lines. Look at his struggles in Miami. Plus he fumbles more than Carr does

Sanatana Moss? Sure :)

Randy? Are you KIDDING?!?!

hmm lets see
Culpepper
2004 stats 39 TD 4,717 passing yards
2005 stats 6 TD 1,564 passing yards

better then Carr's numbers

Im not sure why we'd bring in all of these guys instead of just giving Sage a shot...

Culpepper hasn't been healthy since the 1st quarter the 1st game in 2005. He has potential to one day be that 2004 stud QB, but I just don't know if it will happen.

I think that would probably be the dumbest move we could make, Culpepper was benched for JOEY FREAKIN HARRINGTON. Culpepper is a lifer at backup now, whether he likes it or not.

I think I would rather have Jeff George. (kidding of course)

He was not benched because Harrington was superior, he was placed back into the lineup too soon and has had to have further surgery--he is now on IR.

sad but true
i dont want culpepper though. he would be an upgrade but he just has too many injuries and seems to be lost without Denny Green and Moss.

Here is something to chew on. Would you trade Andre Johnson for Randy Moss and to swap 1st round picks with the Raiders. Andre aint gonna be around after his contract. You swap Andre for Moss, create a little excitement, and you move up about 6 slots. We could then have our pick between Joe Thomas and Calvin Johnson. Calvin and Moss on opposite ends....its at least intriguing but a big risk.

The Texans offense requires a QB to be mobile in order for him to run bootlegs. Daunte Culpepper running a bootleg would be a nightmare.

Won't happen.

No thanks on Daunte.

Best person would be Huard from KC. Sign him to 2-3 years and groom a QB of the future.
This is the way I'm leaning.
Then for a real new concept here in Texansland: QB competition. Let Sage and Damon determine the best player in the off-season and preseason.

You going to toss another newbie behind that crappy line, just so you can bag HIS ass in 5 years like you are doing to David??? When are you guys going to wake up to what the problem is here? Did you see Kubiak trading off the Carr? Hell no, because it's not him that is the problem.

This post should be copied and pasted into every thread, every 15 seconds until you figure it out!

Nope. You have him play behind Sage for a year.

David is damaged goods and he makes the line look worse then they are.

I'm on board for the Texans drafing Troy Smith in the 2nd or 3rd round. He'd be perfect for us.

I'm just worried about the expectations that will be put on him because he'll never be Vince Young.

Precisely why you can't draft Vince-lite. Let Sage and mystery vet (Shaub?)battle at camp along with Porter and save your QB draft bullet for 08. I want Chad Henne but my vote doesn't count. We'll see.

It's been sad to watch David slowly descended into his punch drunk stupor, as any man who suffered the same number of shots would. This culminated with the two blackouts during the Titans game where he wasn't aware of the line of scrimmage before attempting a forward pass. It's sad to witness neurological degeneration of this kind but the symptoms are unmistakable.

As for our voodoo entranced fans who still cling to the notion the line is entirely responsible, all we can hope is for the belladonic haze to eventually lift and the bitter memory of this entire debacle to fade. And then we will understand why it really wasn't more than 30% the fault of the line. We can be repaired. Nobody worries about the Oliver Luck years anymore right?

How about............ absolutely NOT...

the LAST thing the texans need is an overpriced qb with a bad knee.... culpepper would get ripped to shreds behind our line...

The best QB available right now is Allen Iverson. We could swing that, the kid who beat out Vick for Mr. Football in High School. He's mobile, agile, in better shape than Carr or Culpepper and he would definitely give us a edge cause he is all about the "W".
If not let's wait till the end of the season and see who's dealing but NO CULPEPPER!

I'm probably at least 6 inches shorter than Iverson and I bet I weigh more. ...and I'm not overweight!

I don't think he could take the punishment our oline lets in.

I bet he would make one hell of a receiver though.

Jordan would have been a bad mofo at receiver.

But haven't you heard???
He doesn't care to much for...practice.
He's cool with a...game...alright with a...game.
As long as we aren't talking about......practice.
Not a game...not a game......practice.
:tease:

"So what are we talking about here???"............... "practice"

even with the knee injury i'd take culpepper over harrington.

that being said, if he can get healthy, he'll be just fine. if you want harrington, you can take him. you're already used to a guy who can't throw downfield, so no adjustment will be necessary.

What are y'all's thoughts on Matt Schaub, the current backup QB in Atlanta? He's young, has shown a great upside and could probably be either signed as a FA or acquired via trade (not sure when his current contract is up).
