Gary Kubiak the QB guru

This guy has coached some great QB's and has made mediocre QB's into respectable ones. So how does this guy wiff on Vince Young, how did he not see it? Was he forced to work with Carr? I have to think that Bob McNair played a MAJOR role in the decision to stick with Carr and not draft Young, because I just don't see how someone as good at evaluating QB's as Gary Kubiak seems to be could pass on that kind of talent.

Probably will never figure out exactly what happened there, the decision will always blow my mind.

It's called Texas A&M vs. University of Texas

You drafting a Texas guy and making him the king of Texas football when your an A&M guy removes your status from your alma matter.

Still there was plenty of evidence on the table. Just look at the posters on this message board who were in favor of drafting VY - names like AJ and Vinny (wasn't Keith on houstonprofootball on board also?). This guy's speciality is grooming QB's if anyone can see it it should be him. Plus VY went #3 it's not like he was a mid round pick that has blossomed out of no where into a NFL superstar QB.

I will assume, and take the blame if I'm wrong, that it was McNair's decision to keep Carr. But had they not kept Carr, I still doubt they would've taken Young and would've drafted Bush. I don't believe it has anything to do with A&M/Texas.

Eh, I'd have to disagree. There's plenty of evidence to suggest that Kubiak probably doesn't believe in taking RB's high. Granted Bush was considered a special talent for being the #1 RB in the draft AND the Texans supposively tried to trade back into the 1st round to draft DeAngelo Williams. But, that was the bottom the 1st rd. pretty big difference from the #1 overall pick.

Not to mention if they didn't have Carr and we'll assume they didn't have anyone else either how in the world could they pass on VY? I think that would have sent me into orbit.
