Reality Check

All Pro
1. We have screwed up the draft and free agent signings from the very beginning, starting w/ Boselli. Don't tell me about the bs deal about getting certain players if we took Boselli. The plan should have been to get players you can grow with. That also meant not choosing a QB with your 1st draft choice. We gave Carr the job. He never earned it. Maybe he would be better now if given time before throwing to wolves. Now damaged beyond repair for the Texans.
2. Don't need to review all the other mistakes. Buchanon, Babin, Hollings, and so many others.
3. In hindsight doomed from the start with upper tier management hires.
4. Let's look at our supposed playmakers.
Carr- is Carr, if he had a chance at all under the harsh circumstances , seems to be done now. QB - average at best but will never lead you deep in playoffs. No IT quality whatsoever.
Andre- not really an elite receiver. Doesn't catch the ball with his hands. Depends too much on cradling the ball. With his great athletic ability just quite have the skills to be called elite, at least not now.
Running backs- we don't have one that is a playmaker. All too slow. Dayne is OK for what he is, but he is not a gamebreaker and should be a situational back at best.
Ryans- maybe the real deal.
Williams- above average, no star
Robinson- above average " "
So there is what we have. What can we really expect. Look objectively and compare our team to other teams. We are about where we should be based on the talent we have.
5. If we can ever get passed the Carr era and move on I think we may have a coach and staff that will make some improvements. Not hard to do based on what we started with, but something. Even though I am very concerned about their first couple of MAJOR decisions, Carr option and SuperMario.

I hoped this would end on a positive note but after writing 5 above I don't know anymore. I'M DONE as Chevy Chase said in Caddyshack.

What a difference between how the Texans handle the two minute drill and any other NFL team. No confidence in Carr and rightly so.
No more getting depressed.

Yeah, NO was 3-13 last year and got Brees and Bush along with Colston. 3 Key positions. The O line isn't great for NO. They just have so many weapons.

Oh, it's not? They have given up 14 sacks this year. That is second in the league behind only Indy. The Saints also used a 1st round pick on and traded up in 2005 to get Jammal Brown, someone the Texans could have taken and certainly needed. The Texans have never done that, used a 1st rounder on O-line. They have gotten two questionable D-line picks in round 1 though including trading up for one of them. But hey they messed that draft up because they did not take Derrick Johnson, right?

BTW, the Texans are at 38 sacks, nearly 3 times as many. And that is with a short passing game with mostly 3-step drops. It is improvement from last year, but not enough.

New Orleans was a better team last year than the 3-13 showed.

Strike one: They had no home last year.
Strike two: Duece went down during the season (plus Joe Horn missed a few games also).
Strike three: Had Aaron Brooks as their QB. (ask Oakland how happy they are with their 2 and 11 start with him at the helm)

Just too much to overcome last year.

We will be haunted FOREVER. VY in Tenn. Bush in NO
May have to give up on NFL to keep my sanity.
And even that probably won't work
