Pro Football Preview crew on FSN says...

Big78

Waterboy
I just watched the PFP on FSN and when they talked about the matchup between the Texans and Titans guess what was the only thing they talked about....the fact that we passed on both Vince and Reggie. They went down the row and each one of them individually bashed us. "They had a 50/50 chance of getting it right, either bush or young, and they still failed! They are Dumb and Dumber." that one was from jason seahorn.

it just kinda pissed me off how Reggie has one big day (AGAINST THE 49ERS!!!) and all of a sudden every one is saying that this is the way he really plays and he was just in a slump or had hit a barrier for the first 13 games. They also said that by picking Mario we picked a player that couldnt and doesnt even make a difference.

Looks like espn bribed some of the folks at FSN to put out some of their 'Reggie is God' propaganda.:gun: :bomb:

Not surprising as these guys are paid to talk and have their statements regurgitated or picked up as content to promote the network. I doubt 95% of the talking heads have watched every down this year the Texans have played. They do not have a finger on the pulse as much as they have their thumb in their butterscotch.

thing is reggie's team is winning...and vince is leading his team to a better record and they beat the colts, so it just adds to their bush/vince love. however if the texans were 8-4 not 4-8 and mario still had 4.5 sacks they would say that the texans made the right choice with williams. thats just how the media works man. you win...you're the best, you lose you stink just like the rest.

Titans at Texans: We love the Titans. We just don't know why. Maybe it's the baby blue uniforms that make them look like My Little Ponies. Maybe it's the way Vince Young and Travis Henry bounce off tackles. Maybe it's Rob Bironas, the prematurely bald kicking hero who looks like the love child of Joe Buck, Jeffrey Tambor, and St. Francis of Assisi. No, we love the Titans because they are Giant killers, and Colt killers, and Eagle killers, and because it's great to see a team fight for their coach's job. "I don't see anything but good coming out of this team for the rest of the year," Titans punter Craig Hentrich said. We're starting to believe him.

Off topic a little here but that FSN pro football preview is a horrible show. Seriously, all of those guys are poor to mediocre reporters/analysts, Jay Glazier is the only decent one but still not that great.

That's a nice observation. Everything's connected to winning.

That really pisses me off. Any informed football fan knows Williams >>> Bush. He has ONE dazzling play against the 49ers, and that's where he fumbled the ball out of bounds. The other TDs could have easily been scored by Deuce. And those jukes and backsteps are going to be for a loss of yds on most good defenses.

I wonder if they are trying to get jobs with ESPN.......

It is getting more difficult everday to discern the difference between ESPN and FSN.

I actually watched a little bit of Stephen A. Smith's show and was blown away how bad it was. He had one reporter on from the Sac Bee, for his "back page" segment, and he was commenting on Michigan vs OSU and the death of Bo Schembechler the day before the game. He said it had no effect on the team, since he had already died the day before and not the day of the game. I was ready to turn the thing off before that comment, but wound up doing so after that.

Watching it all I could think of was Anchorman and Brick Tamland yelling, "I don't know what we're yelling about!......Loud Noises!"

im informed and i think bush has done better than mario...............and i think with colston and horn out bush is going to get even more touches the next 4 weeks.

Perception is sure a funny thing. The terms "red hot" and "on a roll" have been labeled on the Titans, yet with a win Sunday, the Texans can equal their record this year....and yet we're the ugly stepchild of the NFL according to most sports talking heads? Go figure.

C'mon Texans....beat down Bud and his Titans!

That is how the whole country has perceived the pick since the draft and probably most of the Texans fans, if you could take an anonymous poll.

I think if the Texans ever won three in a row, we'd say they were on a roll too. The Titans have improved as the season has progressed; the Texans have stayed about the same overall. The improving defense is countered by the declining offense.

I agree with FSN. They blew it. Hopefully, Mario will turn out to be a good to great player. As of now, he is neither. He's not even the best lineman we have this year. But, to his credit, he does show flashes, and he has potential to be sure. Of course, potential and a quarter will buy you a cup of coffee. Unless he becomes dominant, this isn't going away folks, so get used to it.

The first part of your statement is the stupidist thing you have said to date on this board I think. If you actually watch Mario which I do on most every defensive play we have, since game 3 has been a handful for every team. On almost every play he is blowing up his opponent(s),constantly disrupting the backfield. CoachDent refered to this point in another post, to where teams are only running to his side maybe 5 times a game. And please remember the SACK that Mario had on Vince, he caught him from behind. One other thing his foot has been hurt for what the last 6 weeks? And he is still solid. As far as Reggie, outside of the SF game what has he actually done by himself that was so magnificent??????? A punt return for TD? Hell Mathis almost did that on his second return of the season after being on the PUP list all year. Maybe if all you thousands of Bush lovers would let go of his shirttails he could actually have a COUPLE of decent games.

I agree fully, if you break down his 4 sacks and run the tape they really aren't impressive. One of them is, but touching down Lefty when he is in the splits, not being able to get off his block and stopping VY for a one yard loss, and the NFL stealing Weaver's sack from him and giving it to Mario for falling on the QB are 3 of his four sacks.

we started 0-5 and Collins made Carr look like Marino...................if you had watched you would have never have posted that

Bush single handedly won the first TB game and he won last weeks game...............Mario has not even won a battle with any LT yet................take youre homer glasses off. I will throw a bone.................I am one of a few who think the plantar fascitis is knocking him down more than anyone knows..............it is a difficult injury to recover from and it takes away explosion.................that being said Bush was a far better pick for Houston..................and I will say that D'Brick was the smartest pick but i am done with Charlie Casserly.....................

VY ran into Mario......................dude you need help.

How did he do that, did he score all the points. HMMMMMMMMMMMM think he didn't,and sure the other 21 players had nothing to do with it.

The punt return won the game..................can you show me one play where Mario won a game for you? Should I post the plays VY has made to win games........................understand the difference yet? The texans FO made their choice and now they and you have to live it. dont hate on me.................hate on them.

It is still too early tell which was the better of the Mario \ Bush pick. It is pretty much a dead heat right now. Mario could come out on top... Vince would have been the best pick for the franchise, but that is water under the bridge...

Are you nuts?

1. Bush singlehandedly won the first TB game? Brees had an off day and threw a TD, McAllister ran for 123 yards and a TD and yet Bush singlehandedly won the game on a punt return for a TD? I don't think so.

2. Mario hasn't won any battles with any LT? He's forced several holding calls and at least 2 interceptions. He hit Brooks' arm last week as he was throwing that led to one interception. He's forced several bad throws in several games. There have been several plays were he was just dominant. But no DE is dominant on every play.

3. Bush has had 1 decent game even though Payton has been pulling out all the stops to find as many creative ways to get him the ball as he can. And that 1 decent game came against a bad defense. Sure, he scored 4 TD's, that's great. But those aren't TD's that they had to have HIM score. He only averaged 3.7 yards a carry against the same defense that McAllister averaged over 5 yards a carry against. He did have a great day as a receiver. Bottom line is that Bush is a wideout who is more hype than substance. He's not a good RB in this league; he may develop into one but that remains to be seen. Although I would have preferred to trade down and get either Brick or Mario, no one wanted to trade with us. No one wanted Bush that badly and we didn't need a wideout.

I'm totally happy with our draft.

How many times can you point out where a DE has "won a game" for a team? But Mario HAS!!! He won the Dolphin's game for us by deflecting a 2 point conversion at the end of the game that would have left the game tied.

He has forced several holding penalties, he's forced interceptions, he's recovered fumbles, he has made a lot of plays that do not show up in the statistics. In the future, he's going to be a force.

They should be called the "Powder Puffs" in those Baby Blue Uni's...

IF I was ever inclined to like the Titans, it would be because of this reason. :joker:

I agree with FSN. They blew it.

Alright, Porky, for the sake of argument, let's all agree that "they blew it".

Now what? Quit on the team? Find another team to root for? What, exactly, can we possibly do to rectify the past? idonno:

Absolutely nothing. Boycotting the team, writing letters, yada yada yada, will not give us another shot at a draft like '06. Even if we had the first overall next year, it will never be the same choices. What's done is done, and we can either move on or get stuck living in the past.

Seriously, do you really want an owner that listens to fans? Or how about an owner that decides he wants to play GM, does that sound good? Our owner did not make this decision. I doubt he even had a hand in it. He hires football guys, for better or for worse, to run his football team. We used to applaud that kind of ownership, but obviously, when it doesn't go our way we must punish him at all costs....is this the logic? Just making sure I follow along.

Mario hasn't been dominant in his rookie year. Big news flash: a lot of great defensive linemen struggle in their first year. It's one of the tougher positions to learn (much less master) when your opponents are veteran offensive linemen who know all the tricks of the trade. Are you suggesting the "B" word? And more importantly, should Mario turn into a good lineman, will you be swayed to jump back into the Texans fold?
