"Half the stadium or more cheering for Vince"

“It’s gonna be like a home game for Vince. He’s definitely going to have half that stadium or more cheering for him,” Hall said.

Teammate Bo Scaife, also a Texas teammate agreed, saying, “There will probably be a lot more No. 10 jerseys there than for their own team. He’s got the key to the city down there, man. He’s Houston’s prince. I think he’s bigger than everybody down there.”

Puke.

I'll bet that if and when something goes terribly wrong for Vince, the crowd will give its' loudest cheers.

I'm a Texans fan. Vince can go dig a ditch for all I care. I loved the last few years of Longhorn football, but that is OVER. He isn't here, and nothing is going to change that. Show your true colors Houston football fans. Get on board or get to Nashville!

I will highly encourage everyone to cheer loudly for Vince when he's on the field.

This is getting almost comical! I like Vince, I went to see him play at the dome with Madison, and I even flew out to the Rose Bowl to see him bring the Horns back. But this Prince of the city mess is too much. Vince is very popular with horns fans and some casual fans but there are plenty of folks who could care less including some Texans fans. He is not Dr. Michael Debakey, or any true Houston heroes who save lives and make a real impact on a dailey basis. He is one hell of an athlete and a very humble and generous person but all this over the top love for VY like is enough to make the casual fan sick of him. That is not to say he is not an unbelievable athlete but some of this love is going way beyond football!

on offense? :dance3:

Of course. :shades:

Can't take that advice. I'll be cheering for Mario, Demeco, Dunta, & co. Don't try to tell me you can do both either.

heh-heh, I'm talking about getting all the Vince Young / Titans fans around you to cheer for Vince while he's playing. Of course we'll be cheering for our defense, but many of these bandwagonners won't know the difference and will happily cheer for Vince. ;)

[/subversive] :spy:

I think it's kind of sad myself. Hey, it's typical for Houston though.

Unfortunately, you are correct..... I wonder when the Colts come to town 20%, 30% or 50% of the fans will be cheering for Joseph Adai... Next time in 4 years when the Giants come here, cheering for Strahan?.

I live in Austin and the rumour is there are buses leaving here with tons of Vince fans wearing burnt orange # 10 jerseys to fill the stands.
Hmmmmmm somebody say conspiracy?

Are yall surprised? Of course there will be a ton of people with #10 jerseys. Heck even I went to the store yesterday to buy one.

There are more Longhorn fans than there are Texans fans. Anyone care to disagree?

"Unfortunately, you are correct..... I wonder when the Colts come to town 20%, 30% or 50% of the fans will be cheering for Joseph Adai... Next time in 4 years when the Giants come here, cheering for Strahan?"

Nope, its just the VY effect. He is Houston's king. Nuff said.

This games reminds me somewhat of the Ravens-Titans game earlier this year. There were a lot of #9 jerseys in the stands, some blue, some purple.

McNair got a standing ovation from the crowd when he was introduced. But during the game, I am pretty sure the Titans-McNair fans in the crowrd weren't cheering for McNair and Mason when they scored the game winning TD.

Young is going to get a lot of cheers before the game starts. I just don't see the fans there going crazy for him during the game itself (though there will likely be more fans cheering for him than normal).

Somebody said in another post if you're going to cheer or boo for VY. I know there are a lot of UT fans and thats fine it doesnt bother me if they cheer for him when he's introduced. I would find it disgusting if anyone booed him. VY didn't do anything to us or the city of houston. he declared early because he wanted to play for us, to boo him would be completely wrong. it would look really bad on the texans fans and houston. coincidely i can see espn talking about this game if it was a big game and making fun of the texans if it was louder for VY than the texans.

Dont boo, just cheer our defense and our offense a lot louder than the VY/titans fans. end of story.

Not 'nuff said.....

Born and raised here..... He aint my King.... At the very least, Strahan went to my High School (which at the time Madison was in my district).... So I don't like Vince on many levels....

Big difference because Vince was never a Texan. McNair was a franchise QB that your roadkill wearing owner threw to the side of the road (typical behavior, too).

No wonder the NFL didn't want to put another team in Houston.

Sadly, this is true. The 'boycott bandwagon' only reinforces the national view that Houston is a fair-weather sports city. Fortunately we have a billionaire football fanatic willing to put his money where his heart is and made it happen. Some nice way to give thanks....oh yeah, I'm "settling for medioctiry" and all that nonsense by being a football fanatic. Whatever.

I would find it disgusting if anyone booed him.

He's a freakin' TITAN!! I'm sure you like to cheer for your college rival's football players, yeah? I thought so...

Go to the game and be disgusted then. Young will be simultaneously cheered and booed.

UT fans remind me of Yankee and Cowboys fans. I'm starting to root for A&M for no other reason than the enemy of my enemy is my friend. :howdy:

And it would seem they were correct in their assesment of Houston and the fans there. Probably shouldn't have put one in Houston. To bad about McNair though. He walks out on a limb, puts up major dollars and what do the fans in Houston do at the first moement they are unhappy.....activly promote stabbing him and the team in the back. Absolutly disgusting attitude IMO.

Unfortunately the way many people in Texas look at it this way

Longhorns=Cowboys... Championships, loyal fan base, etc.
Aggies=Texans.... Mediocre at best.

Do I want the Texans to become popular...Of course I do, but managements dumb mistakes are costing this team fans. Plus, this team has done NOTHING to get fans. No playoffs, constant failures, sorry QB, etc.:cowboy1:

I have two favorite Teams in Pro Football:
1) Texans
2) Anyone playing the Cowgurls

I have 4 favorite Teams in College Football:
1) A & M
2) U of H
3) SHSU
4) Anyone playing Texas University

LOL.... Longhorn and Cowgurls fans waiving a traitor avatar = "front runner" or "bandwaggoner" whichever you like..

P.S
I hate the Cowboys but I have to hand it to them. They know how to win.

Texans fans have nothing.

Go to Longhorn and Aggies message boards. hornfans and texags. BOTH make fun of the Texans. Everyone makes fun of "our" team. Heck even Texans fans do the smame, I cant blame them. Winning Cures EVERYTHING. Someone forgot to give that message to Bob.:brickwall

When the Texans make some big plays that place will come alive. If the Texans offense stinks it up we will hear tons of boos. Personally, I think the Texans will be able to move the ball on the Titans so it won't be a big issue if they take care of their business. If they don't...well, I don't think it will be pretty.

College is completely different than the nfl... and if one of the highest touted qbs in the entire country that went to my highschool was starting his rookie season against my college team at our home stadium. i would support him before the game because he hasnt done anything to us. (except the fact that he picks his college, pros cant pick except for eli..:shades: ) but once the game started i would be cheering my team and hoping my team won...not booing the other player. thats a thing i like about the aggies..at least they used ...never boo its unsportsmanlike.but the do "ssssss" at the refs calls . lol

I feel good about selling my tickets and profitting off the VY worshippers. This one game paid for 1/3 of my season tickets. Thanks VY!

Want no part of the zoo this Sunday. It should be fairly nauseating. Watching from my chair.

Enjoy it while you can. Come next season they'll probably be blacked out due to some of the infamous Houston sports fans bailing out.

People think I hate the Texans because I love VY.

People are going to think im bragging but im not, honestly.

I'm sorry, but I had lunch with the guy a few times. Ive talked to the guy when he was on campus, I WENT TO THE SAME HIGH SCHOOL AS HE DID, and graduated one year later than him. Can yall understand why I have alot of love towards him. Not THAT type of love, but he is a great guy who wanted to come here, he was devastated when the Texans passed him up.

Changing topics,'

Houston needs a change at the QB position. Too many people DO NOT LIKE CARR and they never will. He sucks as a leader from what ive seen. Change Carr and start winning games and more people will jump in the bandwagon. However, everytime the Titans come to town, get ready to see a lot of VY supporters.

Wear a Carr,Andre,Mario,DeMeco,Moulds or even Lundy jersey. But don't wear #10 in orange or blue, you are just fueling the fire if you do.

Football poetry; isn't it grande?

THAT, we can all agree on!

It's not like we don't have our own #10. If anyone should be angry with this, it's Bradlee Van Pelt. Where's the love for #10?

I say wear a Bradlee Van Pelt jersey. It will be the clash of #10's this Sunday at reliant. Insta-classic if you ask me.

You say you're a Longhorn 1st and Texan 2nd, but sport a Titan avatar

if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck........

I personally think this is the biggest game since 19-10......maybe bigger.

I'm a UT fan, but I want to see Mario bash Vince's brains in.........he's a Titan.

Houston wants to be noticed as a great sports town...we talk about our sellouts and such, If I turn on the tube and it looks like a Titan home game. This team might as well move to LA, because we don't deserve to have a team here.....period.

"You say you're a Longhorn 1st and Texan 2nd, but sport a Titan avatar"

Shows you my displeasure towards the team, huh?

Get rid of Carr and I will switch my avatar, until then..

I feel good about selling my tickets [to] VY worshippers. .Want no part of the zoo this Sunday. It should be fairly nauseating.

What's nauseating are Texans 'fans' who sell out to division rival fans. I understand the needing money around the holidays thing but otherwise I think it's pathetic.

I'm excited about the game. Texans win and both teams are 5-8. At first I was dreading what amounts to Fair Weather/Bandwagon Fan Appreciation Day but the more I think about it, I could care less about what happens in the stands since I'll be rooting for Peek, Mario, or DeMeco to break VY in half.

Thank you.. All the fairweather fans will be standing out on Sunday. If you cheer for a Bud Adams team as a Texans fan, your a moron and the rest of the country will be laughing at you. One of the big reasons why Bud Adams took Vince Young over Leinart, despite the protest of Norm Chow and Jeff Fisher (USC guys), was for this reason. To make you Vince Young addicts look rediculous. Applaud his return during the introduction, thats cool. But when the whistle blows, hes a Titan, and hes in the Texans house. Plus the Titans are suc a lame team.. yack..
