DeMeco name AFC Defenive Player of the Week

I'm glad to see he got some respect. He deserves it. Football is a team game and maybe his offense can't score points but the only reason we won was his defensive effort.

Reggie ain't up for AFC Defender of the week.

However, Zach Thomas, Shawne Merriman and Champ Bailey were!

Wooohoooo!!! :redtowel:

I hope we see another performance from him like last week against the Titans. That would probably mean that Young did not have a great game.

D-ROY! D-ROY! D-ROY! D-ROY! D-ROY! D-ROY! D-ROY!

DROY, AFC DPOY, PRO BOWL!!!! I mean he's 2nd in total tackles and 1st in solo the mans a beast i look forward to when we have 2 contenders for the awards.....Mario will do it one of these days.:mario3: :mario3: :mario3:

Demeco not only has to be a front runner for AFC Defensive Rookie of the Year, he has to be among the top 2 or 3 candidates for AFC Defensive Player of the Year. I think Champ Bailey and Brian Urlacher are probably #1 and #2, but if Demeco keeps playing as well as he's playing he has a real shot at it. Who'd a thunk that 3/4th through the season that the best rookies for the Texans and Saints aren't Reggie or Mario but guys named Demeco Ryans and Marque Colston.

That truly was one of the most spectacular games i've seen a defensive player have in their rookie season. He deserves to be team captain for that display of talent. At least we have 1 spark of gladness on this team.

Please pound Vince Young into the turf, please DeMeco, please please please.

It feels good to have an immediate impact player right out of the draft on the defensive side of the ball. The future of the D is extremely bright. Accolades like this make agents of FA safeties and CBs take notice that there is a solid core of young talent on all three tiers.

That's awesome. He deserves it - those were some crazy stats.

Last night on 610, Anthony Weaver said that he thinks DeMeco is going to surpass Ray Lewis over the course of his career. High compliment.

Congrats, you earned it DeMeco.

This should move him one step loser to the Defensive Rookie of the year, and possiblly a Pro Bowl spot.

Finally, DeMeco is getting attention from media and deserves every bit of attention he gets. Now , we need a few more play maker on D side and we would be awesome! For O side, now that's a different story.

Go DeMeco!!

Reggie's up for Rookie of the Week. DeMeco's award is much bigger - best defensive performance in the AFC by any player, rookie or vet.

Thanks, guess i overlooked that part...I was going by the site i voted on...I was just soo excited for him i didn't look at the details...

Yea but all the same we should all get on there and vote for Ryans as rookie of the week VY is winning why I do not know nothing aginst him in all but Ryans had a better game than all of them. So with all this talk of the Texans sux this would be a real good time to show support for the one guy who with out a doubt plays at 110% for us so go vate and lets try and get him the rookie of the week. Because you know they do not want anybody from a team that passed on the greatest back in the NFL ever, to win SO GO VOTE.

Ryans has consistently made plays all over the field and is our defensive rookie of the year thus far. With London Fletcher-Baker and Takeo Spikes, the Bills linebacking corps is getting a little old. There's no way Ryans should have lasted into the second round.

i love that bit:dance3:

According to the Houston Chronicle DeMeco Ryans was named AFC Defensive player of the week for his outstanding perfomance against the Raiders. Goes on to say Ryans is the first player this year to record double digit tackles(15)14 of which were solo, a sack, a fumble, an interception, and a forced fumble in the same game. Ryans is the first Texan to win this award since Aaron Glenn in 2002. Congrats to DeMeco! Also in the SI article says he is the front runner for DROY,of course I think 99.99999% of us already knew that.
