DeMeco up to #2 on SI.com

#1 doesn't make me sick or make me question their judgement...

my question is: is this a season long performance, or a weekly performance thing. because addia had a good game week 12, but not week 13. it has to be a season long performance ranking.

I'm amazed that Bush is at #8. I assumed he would be much higher than that.
That's because this isn't ESPN, who would have vaulted Bush to the top (if
they didn't already have him there), after Sundays game. Also, ESPN probably couldn't admit that atleast 2 backs deserve higher rankings than Bush.
Interestly, DeMeco is only one of 2 D players in their rankings. I dunno about
that ?

Just don't click the link to proceed to #1. It'll either make you sick or question SI's judgement.

VY is right where he should be in this poll. Vince is a leader. His presence on the Titans is IMO one of the things that has the Titans playing as well as they are right now. VY is going to be great competition for the Texans for years to come. I hope his above average ability will also raise the talent level of the Texans. To beat him, you gotta out-play-him.:twocents:

Popularity polls. Big deal.

Sick? Why? I guess it makes me sick we passed on him. Just think, we could have had the offensive and defensive ROY. I am extremely pleased with Ryans though. I think he is a better player than the golden boy Mario. Here's to another 10 seasons of Demeco in the middle...:marionaner:

We coulda had the OROY and DROY if....

1. We didn't sign Kevin Walters and drafted Colston with the pick we gave up.

2. Carr threw down the middle to Owens. It looked for a while like he could win the award.

This just shows you how good of a draft the AFC south had

1. Vince (Titans)
2. DeMeco Ryans (Texans)
3. Addai (Colts)

I know he's on the hated Jags but I believe Mo' Jones-Drew has been a better consistant offensive player than any of these listed. He has more TD's in more games,he also contributes on a regular basis to the run, pass, and ST.

Honestly that poll is right on the money from the bottom to the top. I'm glad was DeMeco was as high as he was because he is an impact player.

That's a good list. The only thing that's sickening is that we could have had the top 2 players on that list.

I love to see Demeco getting that kind of national recognition.

Right on DeMeco Ryans! :redtowel:

I was surprised that Marques Colston is so far down the list at 7th. But I guess his injury knocks him down a notch.

Not surprised at Young. Offense is more glamorous than defense to begin with, and VY set an NFL record with the greatest comeback from behind by a rookie QB. The kid is good, no doubt about it. I just hope our defense is better as DeMeco, Mario, and D.Rob mature.

I tell you this much I think it says a lot that the top 3 are from the AFC South which could mean that this is going to be a hellava division for years to come could see us beating each other up in the near future to to make a playoff spot.

Sounds like a biased Aggie fan to me. Especially one who has an avatar from a game the Aggies didn't even play in.

You're lucky Vince wasn't at Texas for another year, the Aggies would have lost by atleast 30.

Really? You're going to trash talk like that? I'm not even an Aggie fan. I went to a school where the best season we had was a 5-6 season, so don't come at me with Aggie stuff. But, really? Vince wasn't there, remember? He decided to come out early.

Every team loses players, so it doesn't matter. You should never talk crap like that.

Scroll up and Notice who I was talking to: "QB75"

No, I know who you were talking to. I was just trying to point out that your trash talk was backwards, because every college team loses people.

Horrible judgment. This is based solely upon name recognition. If anything, Ryans should be #1 or #2, but the only personwho has possibly performed better is Colston from NO. Vince Young should not be rated #1 based upon some lucky comeback victories.

I am not taking anything away from the victories, but the award and best rookie goes to the guys that have played the best. Vince is coming along nicely, and I hope he has the greatest of careers, with him being a class act and role model, thus far for young men and adversity, but Ryans has played far beyond expectations, and Colston has been unstoppable at his position as well. If this was a team award, Vince would have it hands down. He brought that special attitude and leadership to the NFL, but has yet to show that he is going to be an NFL great. Ryans will be a staple in any defense for years to come!

Young is the #1 rookie at this time. For a rookie QB that was said to have major deficiences to take a 3-13 team from last year and go 5-1 in his last 6 games shows that he is the real deal. You can make excuses or rationalize however you want. Bottom line is that he took a 0-3 team (that was 3-13 last year) and has them at 5-4 six weeks later. His one loss to the Colts was a tough loss and they should have won that one. Oh and his one win against Peyton is one more than Carr has in 7 less tries....but whatever. SI are morons for having VY #1 /sarcasm off...didnt we draft Mario to beat Peyton? Seems like Vince could have helped us beat Peyton as well. Whatever, I aint hatin on Mario. I am hatin on anyone who thinks Carr > Young...and that would be our entire organization....bet they would like a mulligan right about now. Oh well, if Carr is brought back next year and fails, Kubiak will probably find himself unemployed. If he admits he messed up and does something about it (get rid of Carr) then he buy himself more time. THis is a results based league and the results on Carr are that he is a freaking joke of a QB. Biggest loser in the history of NFL starting QBs...not an opinion, its a fact. Check it.

doug ftw

Exactly DeMeco should be #1 on this list. But he does'nt have the national exposure that VY does(ESPN).

Why the hell do people keep saying Demeco for DROY. There is no chance that he will get DROY. Now, ROY, you are talking...

He doesn't even start. This list on the offensive side is unrealistic. VY does not belong in the #1 slot.

You're not too insightful then.

Ok here is a mulligan for the I wanted Vince Young crowd, even if the Texans had the first 3 picks in that draft they still wouldn't have picked Vince Young. They would have picked Williams, Ferguson, and Hawk.

I think they would have taken Williams, Ferguson and Bush....

I would rather have DeMeco than Reggie Bush, though. I say that with a straight face.
