Prediction Time -- Who's Left?

We've got:

The Titans.
The Patriots.
The Colts.
The Browns.

The Titans and Browns are clearly winnable games. IMO same goes for the Colts, as they will be playoff bound at that point and probably resting their starters and looking past us. The Patriots will be a bear of a game but in the short history of our franchise we have beaten teams that, on paper, we had no business beating.

I would feel pretty good about winning 3 or even 4 of our last 5, drafting in the 10-18 slot, and heading into the offseason on a high note.

I say we take the Browns and can win as many as 2 of the other 3. I am praying we beat the Tacks if nobody else simply for a brief however mild respite from the Vince fan club, and because well they are the Tacks. I'd love to see us man it up and take one more between either the Colts or the Pats, though both will be tremendous victories and a milestone of sorts for this franchise.

Who do you see us beating to finish out the year?

At this point I don't know what to think....

I could see us going 3-1, 2-2, 1-3 or 0-4.....

The only scenario I don't see is 4-0...That'd be the only shocking scenario to me....

I think we'll be an underdog in every game. I think the Titans are going to beat us because they are in the zone where they know they are going to win when they take the field. I think it is safe to say that we are not in that zone.

I think the Colts and Patriots both beat us because they are both much better than us.

That leaves us with the Browns to close the season. I'm sad to say I predict the team will have no fight by then and will fold as soon as they face any adversity from the Browns - a key turnover, a 10 point deficit, etc.

I think we go 0-4. I've come a long way from the glass half full optimism about the Texans that I've had from inception through this pre-season. We have a long way to go to fix this team. I think we've made strides on defense, but our offense is just as bad as last year's fetid version.

I think the Titans are vulnerable because they beat the Giants and the Colts. As funny as this may sound I would imagine they are looking past us now. However if we had not TO the ball 5 times in our last meeting we would have beat them soundly. As far as the other 3, I think we beat the Browns. leaving us at 6-10 for the year. Not great but a vast improvement over last year.

Unfortunately that is my feeling as well. The kid is a gamer and he has progressed more rapidly in this league than I expected him to -- I will freely admit that -- and so far that has more than made up for his technical deficiencies as a passer. Should be a great game to watch but one that I will be pleased with only if it ends in a Texans W.

P.S. Mario and DeMeco, I'll buy you guys a steak dinner if you break Vince in half.

A hard Guess...Young sure has his confidence now, Carr doesn't...Their Kicker better then ours clearly in a clutch...I think it will boil down to field goals to win the game, and we all know whos going to be the winner there...But Texans could surprise us with special teams showing up again....DeMeco my man will be ready again, as always:marionaner:

Depends on what will happen on QB the next few days. In theory we can win all, but with Carr's performance last night, neither of these teams would let us win.

If we produce like we did (as a team, overall) last night, we'll lose all four.

I'll take a mathematical approach to this....

Titans: 40% chance at winning. VY and Titans are going out to win games right now. I have a feeling that the Reliant crowd turns on the Texans early in the game and starts cheering for VY... making it difficult to win. The Titans WRs don't scare me and I think the defense will keep us in games.

Patriots: 20% chance at winning. On the road, in the cold, NE looking to solidify a playoff spot. The story line doesn't matchup well.

Colts: 10% chance at winning. The Colts are playing for homefield and don't want to give it away against a team like the Texans.

Browns: 50% chance at winning. They have a tough D, have played well and built rhythm. Home field makes us even winners against them.

Take the average... 32.5% chance at winning a game...

1-3 the final... and I bet we beat the Titans and not the Browns.

I can't look past the Titans game right now....I think this game will say alot...But when i think about them facing the Colts and Pats, just makes me sick...

As much as it pains me to say this, I don't think we'll beat the Titans. VY has a chip on his shoulder and his hometown crowd behind him, and he's the kind of player that rises to the challenge and will relish his first chance to play pro ball at Reliant. I just hope we are competitive. Nothing worse than seeing us get blown out in our own crib by a Vince Young led Titans.

Colts and Patriots are losses, even if they start their entire second teams.

The Browns....maybe....hopefully....we can win this one and it sends us home to the off-season with the taste of victory...

I could live with a 5-11 record after last year's 2-14 debacle.

I think 5-11 is about right with a Browns win. If anyone thinks that the Titans are going to not bring their A game for VY then you are mistaken. I just wish that the our guys would have rallied around Carr for his "homecoming" game in California. However, it looked more like they were pallbearers.

No matter what happens in these last four games, we finish with at least 4 wins, including making the Jags our personal punching bag. Like DB said, compared to 2-14.... I'll take it.

We could still hit 8-8 if we go 4-0..... :pigfly:

Seems to me Carr was the one missing at his own funeral....

Everyone else showed up....

Put me down in the 0-4 camp.

We missed our chance to beat the Titans. They're in a different class now. Our only hope is that they're hungover from the Colts win and they overlook us.

The Patriots...we don't have a prayer.

The Colts won't sit any starters. Manning won't pass up a chance to pad his stats. This will be their chance to hit their stride for the playoffs after a couple of tough losses.

The Browns are starting to look pretty tough as well. I don't think this is the automatic win that we thought it was in the preseason.

The silver lining is that we're 100% improved over last year (in terms of W's.)

Jackass of Day!
1-3.

We will probably beat the browns, but only because that team is Jekyll and hyde, just like us. the browns have quit numerous times on Crennel.

we won't beat VY. VY is going to start a riot in reliant im afraid......The cheers will be louder for him then they will for the cleanest David Carr screen in the world. The man wins football games...you think he is going to let his team lose to US?

Anyway, we finish 5-11, which is exactly what i predicted at the beginning of the season...somebody dig up that carr stats prediction thread...i might be close on that too.

I think we will beat browns just because they suck, and the titans, based off of almost winning after 5 turnovers. 6-10

Well, not to say "I told ya so" but...

For my initial early season predictions to come true, we've got to win 1 more game. I think we have a good chance to win 2.

I'm curious to see if Carr gets benched. I think if Sage was still healthy, he'd be starting the rest of the season.

Kubiak will make sure they play out the last game like hell and wants the team to end on a high note after three brutalizing losses. Texans win a hard-fought game against the Browns and go 5-11.

I honestly don't see how you can say that any of these games are winnable. We haven't thrown a TD pass in what 5 games?? or is it 1 in 6 games. Of the teams on that list, they are all playing their best ball of the year. The Colts are struggling a little bit, but Addai is starting to pick up the extra load, and starting to carry that team. Imagine that, the Colts will come in, and their best player will be someone other than PeytonManning.

Defensively, we're lights out against poor offenses...... Okay against avg offenses, & blah against good ones. The Jury may be out on Charlie Anderson, but I think the Browns will be avg-good come Dec 31.....

That said, I think we'll fall short of the 13-3 I predicted(Injuries got us...... ) But my season is resting on the Colts game. If we win that one, I'll be happy. I don't see us winning that game, I don't know how we'd do it, but I'd be happy if we get the W........... by any means necessary.

Visions of CelticPride just raced through my head.

I think we go 2-2 beating the Titans and the Browns. I don't know why I think we'll beat the Titans, but we were so close last time I don't see how we lose.

One of, if not the worst offense in the league still managed to rack up over 300 yards of offense against us. I wouldn't neccessarily say our defense was lights out. They did however step up to the plate when needed. They had us beat in almost every catagory, we just happened to win the turnover battle.:crutch:

It was close in the last meeting. Since the last meeting against them thier offense has improved and ours has digressed.

I would say you have a chance against the Browns.

Like someone said in this thread earlier, Vince is going to have a chip on his shoulder. He wanted to be drafted by the Texans. Before the draft he said he wanted to play in his home town.

I'd say you guys will win 1 more and it will be against the Browns.

They're winnable in terms of a comparison of our talent to theirs and generally our records, though the Titans have been on a tear of late. IMO all bets are off against the Tacks as it is a rivalry division game at home, and the Browns are no better than us and it's also a home game. Are we really a better team than the Jags? Not really, yet we've swept them already. Any Given Sunday applies and certainly to opponents who feature comparable personnel.

Vinny

0-4 The Browns are allowing 208 yards a game passing and that's better than the Patriots, Seahawks and the Broncos....plus they don't have an offense or special teams anywhere near as bad as the Raiders. I was hoping we could end up with some momentum, but I don't see it any more. I think our defense will end up giving us some hope going into the off-season though. I think we need a major change in the offense.

I say we end up 5-11 . This weekend I think Carr is on the ropes ... I also think he's gonna get his knockout punch .

KT said something that I agree with and thats the Titans are coming in to beat the Texans and make them like it . I don't see Carr responding to this challenge .

Carr always bounces back, and plays well enough after horrible games. (NewYork & Buffalo were inneffective, not horrible) I'm hoping this will be his legitimate 300-350 yd passing game.... 3-4 TDs.... I'm also hoping this will be the game we have both... a safe effective David Carr & a potent run game(RonDayne).

The key will be the running game. We've got to make Travis Henry beg the coach to keep him off the field.... get a lead, Run Ron Dayne early & often. Get points when we get into the end zone(hopefully TDs) Then throw Gado/Lundy at them in the 4th Qtr to keep them off the field.

This game will also show us how much the Texans care about David Carr. Forget Mario, forget Vince, this game is about David Carr.

I need improvement and all 3 units to come play for a whole game the rest of the season. I do not care for VY but of coarse I grew up a Aggie so that goes with out saying. We should beat the Titans but as we have seen this year we just can not show up every week but I think the defense will show up just to redeem that lost up there the question is will the offense show up. For all you VY homers I am not saying he will not be good NFL QB but he is playing with the Tenn. Oilers. Browns we could win and if we run the ball well and a lot against Indy maybe just maybe we pull it off but more than likely 1 more win to end the season. Like I said it depends if they all show up to play ( which means the offense) who knows just "NO MORE #*&@%!^ INJURIES PLEASE".

I agree 100 % ... this is about Carr . I have zero faith in Dave and I also believe the Titans and their 46 defense will pressure him and cause turnovers .
Their really not so good against the run , thats where I think you win . The Texans need 30/180 on the ground . Carr needs 15/20 170 yds and 2 TDs .

I think we beat the Browns to go 1-3. That's still 5 wins and a major improvement over last year's debacle. We could beat Tennessee, but I doubt it's gonna happen. Somebody said it would take 30 runs for 180 yds, which is possible but not likely, and 15 of 20 for 170 and 2 TDs. Carr will get that WITHOUT the TDs and we lose whether we get the rushing yardage or not. This is assuming our O-line doesn't give up 5 sacks and Carr doesn't fumble 2 or more times, but we still lose. One thing we can count on is that Young will throw at least one INT, but we still lose.

Imagine, for just one minute going 4-0 the rest of the way. Think how great 8-8 would feel. Imagine the game against the Titans with Dave, outrushing, outplaying, and leading his Texans over the Vince-led Titans. Imagine the next week, going into Foxborro, and Dave, looking acrosss the field at Brady and saying "this week, i'm the super bowl champion" and leads his team to another victory. Imagine the following week, with Indy coming to Reliant, and Dave, brimming with confidence telling his teammates, "I'm throwing long all game long" and passing for a record 575 yards out dueling Manning while leading the Texans to their 4th win in a row. Imagine the last game against the now frightened Browns and Dave, doing no wrong while leading his team to a 44-0 victory. Imagine the fans rushing out on the field and hoisting Dave, on their shoulders and screaming "you the man"!!!

Okay, maybe that last sentence was a stretch.:joker:
