Vince Young Leads His Team Again

What a great game by Young. The guy is just willing his team to wins.

Why did we extend Carr and pass on him? It's starting to look like Mattress Mack knows a lot more about football than the Texans front office.

I just don't honestly see how ANYONE would think that Vince wasn't going to be the real deal....he has that "it" that will make him a great QB for years to come.

Actually, a couple of years ago, Carr lead us to a lead Vs. the Colts but they came back to win it with 2 minutes left.

Watched the whole game... he was unstoppable all day. It wouldn't have come to the 60 yd. field goal if it wasn't for the dumb INT in the 3rd. He made some exceptional throws... the first INT was a good ball, a little interference and a mistimed jump caused the INT off the deflection, he had the right matchup and put the ball in the right place if not a little bit long.

On the play preceding the kick, he slipped, turned his ankle with the pocket collapsing, but had the presence of mind to get back up and throw the ball to keep them within some semblance of striking distance. He's the real deal and it kills me that the Texans passed on him... I'm sure Mario was worth the pick... but we drafted Mario with the reasoning "You can't make the playoffs without beating the Colts and pressuring Peyton". Well, Tennessee sure seems to have found their tonic for that ailment. Also, by drafting Mario to pressure Peyton, we created another problem in letting Young slip to Tennessee. I'm sure at some point we'll spend a top five pick on a MLB with the rationalization that you can't make the playoffs without beating Tenn. and slowing down VY.

Bruxing, bruxing, bruxing.

wow, can you all please move your man love for the Titan Young over at www.titansonline.com. This is sickening. I watched the whole game too and he was by far from great. If our defense limitd the Colts to 17 points maybe we woud have done just as good. Pathic closet Titan fans. See ya.

I'll say it again. I'm not sure how GMs, whomever, really don't get the fact that some players just have IT. Some are winners who teammates gravitate towards and others are losers. We are seeing that case and point.

Do you know how VY helped hold the Colts to 17 points??? He kept time of possestion nearly equal (30:55 for the Colts, 29:05 for the Titans). Like the annoucers were saying, your best defense for Manning is keeping him on the sideline and that what VY did. He ran the ball and, therefore, allowed Henry to get big holes because the defense is scared of him taking off if they follow Henry to closely. The best way he helped the defense, however, was converting 8 of 13 third downs (61%). I dont think Carr ever helped out our defense by completeing 61% of third downs against the Colts. And not to mention, a lot of those third downs werent 3rd and short, they were for a large part 3rd and medium and 3rd and long, you know, the distance that Carr gets nervous quickly and checks it down.

I'm not suffering from "man love". I live in the real world, where Vince Young is 5-4 rookie starter who turned his team on like a light switch when he replaced Kerry Collins after Game 3.

He did turn them on like a light switch, but they've got some talent on both sides. He's definitely been the catalyst, but that young OL, Ahmard Hall, Pacman, Bulluck, Henry and Vanden Bosch are players too. VY is making that whole thing fit together and go... they look like they'll be stout going forward.

Apparently, according to Charley Casserly on CBS this afternoon, Bud Adams is offering Jeff Fisher a contract extension. Fisher is expected to sign - he's very excited about working with Vince Young and the rest of the team for years to come.

I have never seen a full-back block like ahmard (and we had lorenzo neil) props to him.
Gotta love the story on Ahmard... he looks better playing against NFL players than he did at UT. He's gotta have an incredible work ethic... dude is jacked. He seems considerably more explosive than last year, a real offensive threat. Colston and Hall show that the draft is a crap shoot, intangibles are underappreciated.

I don't know what to say to you man. Your posts are lame. I bet you're a Portland Trail Blazers fan and you're still saying that drafting Sam Bowie instead of Michael Jordan was a good idea.

No one listens to you.

For the reasons the Kubiak's given, I think that Mario was the right choice. Good, conventional football wisdom. He'll be an All-Pro one of these days. I'm glad that he's here.

I won't argue that Vince would've made more of an immediate impact in Houston. Dude makes things happen. He gets out of tackles that Carr takes for sacks.

Reggie would just get stuffed in the backfield behind our OL.

Great win. Looks like it's a good time to be a Tack fan.

Vince Young is willing his team to wins and I knew he would do it, sitting on my freaking couch in my living room, I knew he would be great. How is it these so-called football experts said we could win with Carr. NEGATIVE 5 YARDS PASSING!!! Does Kubiak feel like a clown today? I sure hope so.

they were better than us last year without vince, not saying that the guy hasn't been playing great game lately but come on we were 2-14 last year & we've doubled that. they were 4-12 relax people. The only thing that can be taken out of today is that they beat the colts with him at the helm & we've yet to do that.

It all just comes back to a lack of talent on this team, the problem that its always been.

HELLO! we played the number 1 passing defense today, on the road no less. top 10 defense & we still won. I didn't expect much in the first place.

The D won us the game today...despite what Carr did. The guy isn't a leader and until they realize this and move on, the Texans will always be happy about 4 wins, etc.

Texans were danged if they do,danged if they don't

we pick Bush and still can't run the ball most on this thread would be talking about VY anyway..

IF we drafted VY and we are at the same record, people would be talking about Bush's 4 Td's today.

We drafted Mario and that is that, he will be a good one (along with the other 2)

Texans had to go "ugly" at some time or another

everyone keeps acting like running back, defensive ends and quarterbacks are all the same....vince is a rookie quarterback who is already the leader of his team, when he wasn't suppose to start for 3 years....for him to show this already.....keep lying to yourselves, we made a huge mistake,,, so you all can keep being the lemming texan fans, i will alway be a texans fan but i can still see and accept the truth...

What do you mean "what carr did"? the guy can't even get his plant in the ground on a 3-5 step drop. I liken carr to a matt hasselbeck type. If he can get into the right situation & get better players around him he can be serviceable. Anyone remember what Hasselbeck was like early in Seattle before they got decent players & coaching around?

& before i get construed as a "carr homer" I'm trying to figure out why you guys think we need a HOF QB to be able to win. WE NEED MORE TALENT & apparently Kubes knows this as well otherwise he would have sent Carr packing a long time ago.

oh please with the not supposed to start for 3 years, this is the NFL and when you get picked at #3.. you should be starting maybe after 1 year, teams aren't going to have a guy sit until the 3rd year .

Young was going to get playing time this season no matter what(per fisher), Collins excellerated that timeframe

Don't remind me of Kerry Collins. He's responsible for 3 of our losses.

Hats off to Vince Young from me. I was not a big fan of his as an NFL quarterback and thought his skills wouldn't translate well at all to this level. His stats haven't been eye-popping, but he is leading that team impressively and I'll eat my words, especially if he keeps it up.

How about the potential of this rookie class??

I mean, the obvious top 3 that were picked (esp if Mario and Bush become more consistent), Young, Leinart is looking good, Cutler's making his first start, Addai in Indy, Maroney, Colston, Jones-Drew, Demeco Ryans, among others. There's going to be a lot of big, big names in the NFL for years to come that came out of this past draft. Who knows who else will emerge?

Not only is VY 5-4,

BUT, he could and maybe should be 7-2. One loss was on a missed FG to win it at the end against BAL, and then the other was the 1 point loss to the Colts. That would have given them 7 wins in a row. Not too shaby for a team they were calling the worst in the NFL (tied with OAK) after the first few weeks.

and if Cook didn't fumble in consecutive games ......;)

umm, they scored 20 points and he had 2 picks...lets hold off on the hall of fame speech just yet. the D only gave up 17 points and for the second time in a row shut the other team down in the second half, taking pressure off the offense. all in all, it was a great performance from the TITANS, not just vince.
