Sources: Jevan Snead looking to transfer

Farough

Rookie
Capping months of speculation on Jevan Snead's future, sources indicated to Orangebloods.com on Wednesday that Snead has asked to be released from his scholarship, freeing the freshman for a transfer to another program. The highly-touted freshman saw limited playing time this year with Colt McCoy earning the starting job, prompting him to explore other options.

Allright lets get the Stepenville pipeline hot & bring him to UH. He can start as soon as he's able to; Kolb is a senior, he knows the Offense & it allows for him to remain in Texas.

The University of Houston and TCU are the two possibilities according to a blurb in the Chronicle today. It was a main topic this morning on SR610. I'm pretty sure he'll have to sit out a year.

Yeah i know he'll have to sit 1 year, but who does TCU have at QB now & in the stable? does anyone Know? If he comes here we've got a great chance @ continuing what Briles has built up to this point.

Alright, Jevan, Waco's only 98 miles north, and we are looking to make highlight reels with our Texas Tech light offense. You could be great here.

If you transfer from a Big 12 school to a Big 12 school, you have to sit out the year + lose a year of eligibility. So he would be a RS-Junior in 2008 instead of a RS-Sophomore if he transfers to a different conference.

Dang, that rules out KU then I guess.

He'll have to sit out but he still has a redshirt year to burn. So after he transfers, he'll still have a full 3 years of eligibility to play.

My thought is get on the field as soon as possible to learn and show your stuff. If he's any good as a junior, he can opt for NFL. IMO risk of playing another year of college usually is not worth the bucks and training of NFL coaches. Seems like he would do better to go to non conference school.

This has been rumored since McCoy won the QB job in pre-season.

I'm suprised it is just now coming out in the Chronicle.

I dont have a link but I have heard a lot of rumors from people in Austin who say that he is looking really hard at Miami and Florida St.

Houston & TCU would be good choices for him but I think he wants to go somewhere bigger.
