Carr a TOP 10 QB

Carr is a good passer but he could be just that much better if he would win games:shoot:

Sure he doesnt win us games, but he sure doesnt lose them either.

That's what you get from a consistent average QB. He is rarely great & he is rarely terrible, but he is usually solid.

Brad Johnson made a pretty good career out of it AND he has a SB ring.

If you could explain why four of the QBs who are in the top 11 are not starting for thier teams then I will give some respect to the methodology of the system used.

this from the same page

5. Daunte Culpepper
8. Kurt Warner
9. Damon Huard
10. David Carr
15. Tom Brady

:rofl::shades:

I was interested in the list until I noticed a couple of these same guys... Culpepper = 5? Warner = 8? Huard? Maybe, he has done well replacing Trent Green who is back now, but.....Somehow, those first two alone took any validity out of it for me...

Well two are injured, and Dennis Green has always been known as a short hook on QB, he is a terrible coach imo.

And the other QB who is not starting was replaced by a probowl QB after he got back from injury.

I think you have totally missed the point.

Believe it or else!! Do with this thread what you will, there's no denying the ranking right now. Don't send too much hatemail. I'm just the messenger. He still looks too lost and timid to me.

Finally an article that tells it like it is. They're right you know. Carr is a top 10 QB. (Wait for it...............wait for it...)

That is, if by top 10 QB you mean....
-was drafted #1 overall
-was beat up by a horrible Oline
-took too many needless sacks even if the line did block
-a QB that can lead the league in comp. % by throwing 5 yd dump off passes continuously even if the team is behind by 30 points
-throws severely underthrown deep passes every time the WR has a step on the DB (which is why he probably throws so many short passes come to think of it)
-will not throw a lot of INTs but also will not throw for many TDs
-will never be the kind of QB to lead a team to a win; not the caliber of player that the team can rally around in the 4th quarter and count on making plays.

If that is the criteria, then yeah, I'd have to say Carr is not only in the top 10...he's #1!

As others have stated, can you win w/ this kind of QB? Sure, if the rest of the team is very good. Is it the kind of QB you draft #1 overall and then pay bunches and bunches of money for? NO!!!

But hey, that's JMO.

Man, Anthony Wright sucks, I will agree however that Tony Romo will be a top flight QB starting off the season as the Dallas starter. His five games are better statiscally than Carr's. Vince Young still has a way to go but he lookin good, never wanted to admit it but he looks like a realy QB! Damn, Damn, Damn!

Dude, is it Carr's fault that he supporting cast is horrible? My brothers and sisters, hear me when I say that their is no legitimate running game so the PA Pass's don't work because no one respects the backfield of Lundi and Gado...DO YOU? The staff knew DD was injured throughout training camp and failed to address the need at RB...Lundi is not the answer and will be nothing more than the second comming of Jonathan Wells next season.Top dawg 'Dre will drop passes thrown right between the numbers at least twice a game. His o-line is crap, even with the addition of Flannigan who has done nothing to impress me, Spencer gets hurt and is the future at left tackle, and a game wouldn't be a game unless Pitts gets called for two false starts and a holding penalty. This crap happens game in and game out but we all want to see David Carr win despite this. Kubiak is taking his sweet ass time with this team because this is his first year as a coach, to him he isn't trying to rush along, he is under no pressure. For us fans it's a different story because this is year five of ahorrid franchise. Oh, did I forget to mention Kris "no man should spell his name CHRIS with a K, oops did I miss another on..damn" Brown. When David Carr is clicking, driving down the field, setting his TEAM up for some points, Jameel Cook or however you spell his name, fumbles the ball or Kris Brown craps out! Come on guys, is David Carr a top 10 QB? NO but he is better than many guys out there. Brunell, Leftwich (when healthy) J.P. Lossman (who only plays like that against Houston) Warner and Kitna to name a few all of whom started or are still starters on their teams. I am tired of waiting too and yeah Carr drops the ball sometimes when he forces a ball into quadrouple coverage or runs in to a sack but lets give blame where blame is due as well. if the defense holds Buffalo than we are looking at a win! If Cook doens't fumble, then we beat the Giants and if Ephiram Salaam isn't playing with only half a brain then we more than likely beat the Titans. Three wins and we are 6-6! Don't make it sound like Carr is the lone problem.

Cry me a river, Carr is a bum!

Carr is has a cannon for an arm and a pea for a brain. Every good QB in the NFL says that once the game slows down it becomes easier. The game has never slowed down for Carr. If it has not by now it never will.

VY is 4-4 as a starter. Carr can't even hold his jock.

Dude, for a veteran poster you have a horrible attitude. You know damn well this team was put together in the worst way with Capers and Casserly calling the shots. Team with no cohesiveness on the offensive line struggle. Look around the league, the Raiders, the Cardinals as well and they have a Pro Bowl back. Lamont Jordan has done nothing impressive in Oakland and James' season is by far his worst of his career. Put Warner in, put in Leinart it doesn't matter. Like I said Carr does some bone head stuff from game to game but lets not make it sound like Carr is the sole reason this team is what it is. I will blam anyone or thing that needs to be blamed. Running game, passing game, recievers, running backs, defensive line, o-line or coaching staff. I will give you a constant until this year...horrible personal moves! Babin, Buchannon, Wade, Robaire. This team was driven into the ground by ***** moves by the former staff. But I guess Carr should have controlled that huh?
