I am tired.

I am not tired of losing games (even though I am really wanting us to be much much better).

I am not tired of waitng for Carr to show his stuff we got him for (that might change by the end of the year).

I am not tired of seeing Mario not getting sacks, or Kubs playcalling, or many other things..

What am I tired of?

Some of the houston fans. I know.. that is harsh, but you have people here that think the sky is falling.

You have people here that have attacked EVERY member of the team in some way. AJ is dropping balls, Carr isnt the future, Mario dont have many sacks, Kub is trying to lose games, Moulds is a has been, Babin aint worth the price, Seth Wand was the best person on the team and we released him, We dont have good secondary, we dont have good safetys, we dont have good.... oh it goes on and on.

Let me remind you of a few things, but it probably wont take. You seem to be hellbent to move toward the darkside, but here is goes.

Kub is a first year coach with a outstanding offense coordinator record. Yes, he will make some mistakes, but I pretty much bet he has a better eye for talent then anyone here. If plays work, he is seen as our savior, but there are quite a few here are quick to thier knee jerking if the play doesnt work. As improvement, Carr has never looked better (even he needs much more work), sacks are down almost by half, the oline is starting to open holes, Defense is working more together, etc. He already has more wins too. You cannot tell me you dont see improvement in these areas, but maybe not as much improvement as you would like.

Carr.... he has gotten better. You have to admit that. Better poise in the pocket, better reads, better placement of the ball. Yes, he should have been there 3 years ago, but now he is under someone who holds him accountable, not put on a pedistal. He finally has a mentor, not a suckup as I said in a previous post. No, he shouldnt be given a free ride, but do think he should be qb for the rest of the year to try to prove himself more.

I could go on for days with this post.

All I am saying here is that we are 'rebuilding' a bad team to a better team. It cant be done in one season. Give the team a chance to get better, locate thier flaws, and find solutions. The only way people can be judged is if you see them play. This is what Kubs is doing, let him do his job.

For those members who cannot face the truth that we are slowly getting better, Bad rep me away. I dont mind. All I ask is that you think about without emotion on where the team was, and where it is today, and compare the two. If you give it a just shake, I think you will see I am right.

All I am saying here is that we are 'rebuilding' a bad team to a better team. It cant be done in one season.

More people should've realized this from the beginning of the season. We were 2-14 last year. There's no way we had a chance at the playoffs this year.

Not only do we have to turn around a bad situation, but we have a brand new offensive system, and a brand new defensive system. That takes time to adjust to as well. It's natural to expect growing pains.

Just as long as we have a better season than last year, it's a step in the right direction, and we are a better team than last year.

100% Agreed. People need to chill out.

Here is a little positive rep to counter some of that negative rep you will undoubtedly get for saying something positive about David Carr and the Texans.

players get hurt, balls get dropped and plays are busted. I just want to see good effort from the players. I am satisfied with kubes & management. I expect to see some players gone next year and hopefully another good draft. A solid player or two in free agency and we should do better on 07.

I am tired of the complaints about kubiak. This board always over reacts after a loss. I did not expect the playoffs. The only complaint i had was we did not give sage a chance during the regular season to see what he could do. Carr had improved and i expect to see him remain our starter next year, but i would like to see what we have on the bench. Who knows if we have a future tony romo, or a cody carlson type back-up. Anyway, the victories will be that much sweeter for those of us who stay by the team when it's down.

its just frustration, I've fallen victom to it.

Just seems like everytime this team is about to turn a corner and get a leg up something comes and chops the other one off. For once I would love to see the ball bounce our way and we can have success. We have alot of good players, who are good people, who tote the company line, who deserve it.

We need to get lucky in this draft and have another draft like the last one.

Beyond the losing, beyond the wasted money on mediocre players of Texans past, what bothers me the most is the losing attitude the team seems to take on the field. You can see it in their walk, in the way that they conduct themselves. When they get behind in a game, we don't see the fire and the anger of losing. We see guys suffering the loss and accepting it.

Beyond all these other discussions about players and coaches and schemes, the thing that matters the most is attitude. I had hoped that Kubiak would be able to change that from the sidelines, but right now the team is talking the talk of losers. I think this is what upsets a lot of fans more than anything else.

When a steak house charges $24.95 for what it calls staek, and you get fried bologna, you're going to be a little irrate.

These guys need to remember that regardless of what the win/loss record says...regardless of whether anyone else produces...regardless whether you're held accountable or not...you produce what you're getting paid for...PERIOD.

Then its time to get some of those guys out of here.

Theres to many indians with this team, no chiefs. We have some, but they're not yet in position to take on leadership roles......DeMeco is a rookie.

That should be the biggest focus in FA, get some damn leaders in here. Moulds and Weaver were good signings and a start.

Charlie really got us good. Its going to take Kubiak atleast two more drafts (thats being nice) to turn this pile around

I am tired of losing games. period.

They've had 5 years of building/rebuilding.

Now that right there, that's the kind of post I'm talking about. I think you nailed it so well that this post should be bulletin board material in the Texans locker room. I'll spring for a trip to Kinkos so we can put a copy in each of their lockers.

Most of us were delirious when we found out that Houston was going to get a team and when we began that first season fans in Houston were so fired up we almost couldn't contain ourselves. I don't know about a lot of you but I didn't fall in love with the Texans on opening night against Dallas. I fell in love with the Texans when they went to Philadelphia that same year and put some genuine fear into the Eagles that day. I continued to gain affection for them as the year went by and as it dawned on me that these guys on our defense (and that's really all we had in 2002) didn't know they were on an expansion team and were not going to play like the defense of an expansion team. If our offense that year could have done anything at all I'm convinced that team could have won 7 or 8 games.

They won four of them (Dallas, Jacksonville, New York (Giants), and Pittsburgh. They came very close to winning the second Jacksonville game, Buffalo at Reliant, and the first game at Tennessee. We lost to the Eagles 35-17 but the score was more lopsided than the game. Philly just kept pulling away from us as our defense tired.

The thing is that team (or rather half-team since they had no offense) never quit and never seemed to accept losing. Since then I haven't seen a Texans team with that kind of fire take the field even once. Some of them are so experienced with losing that the expression looks natural on their faces. Some of them have become, sorry to say "losers".

Guess what? Rebuilding starts when you get a new coach; especially when your stock full of the talent we have/had on our roster.

Who is the new coach of the Titans? I have to take my hat off to him for rebuilding them so quickly.

I fell in love with the Texans when it was announced that we were awarded the franchise. It's been tough too...lol.

Amen to you who believe that the biggest concern is attitude. This team is breeding losers.

For those who think we don't have a right to complain, do you own PSL's. I paid too much money to get crap in return. If this were Wal-Mart, I would get a refund, but here we just get a letter stating that they are proud to announce that they will not raise ticket prices (last year). Big deal. Gimme wins, or buy back my PSL's. They told me how my PSL's would be worth possibly 3 times the amount in a few years, well it's been 5, and they are not worth face value to most people. I did not buy them for resale, but it has all been smoke and mirrors around here.

Uhh Jeff Fisher? Even though the lost of bunch of players due to various reasons; their cupboard wasn't bare. They had a decent dline and LBs; decent RBs an oline better than ours (honestly who isn't?). I guess some team can reload, while we have no guns to reload. But getting much better may I add.

Exactly!!! They don't have ALL new coaches, new schemes on both sides of the ball, and mostly new players, and I might be mistaken but I dont think they have 8 rookie starters.

New things take time. And as far as I am concerned, the first four years, unfortunate as it is, don't count. Only a few of those players are left, and none of the coaches. This is a totally different team in every way.

Take it for what it is. I want them to win as bad as anyone, but you have to be realistic.

Not to mention all of our injured players. Kubes has his hands full, and I think for the most part, he is doing a great job.

Oh, and I think their attitude HAS been good. I haven't been here to read all of what they have said since Sunday, but before that, it WAS good.

When a steakhouse charges $24.95 for a steak there should be no question. But people aren't a piece of meat. (okay, now I know that some are) They have brains, well, most do. LOL Not to mention it isn't just one person doing one thing, they all have to do it together at the same time perfectly for it to work. A little different.

And they get paid way too much to do their jobs, but that doesn't mean they can. But I agree, they should. And I think they are trying. Growing pains.

By the way, I like mine rare. That way they don't have enough time to mess it up. :francis:

This is exactly what this post is about. Here is a guy who thinks he should get special treatment because he owns a PSL. In addition, he bought it to not root for the team, but to sell down the line at a profit. He must think Bob should call him in to personally tell him 'I am Sorry'.

Let me tell you something. Many of US here too own PSL. That is beside the point. A texan fan is a Texan fan. They cheer the team where ever they are, and are as loyal as everyone. Just because they might not have the cash to make a business investment should not get our scorn. Because we own PSL's, it does not make our voice sound higher. If you sold your psl today, there would be hundreds of takers on this board. Quit acting like you have more invested in the texans then most of here do.

Great post first off

And to further echo your point, we basically started over from nothing after the 2-14 season, thus the cleaning house

Much like coaches in every other level, they usually get 3-4 years to prove themselves and build "their" team up, and if you like the product they have created they stay.

I think Kubes has done an amazing job with the situation he came in to here, and with a strong draft class, and lets face it, a high pick in 07s draft class, we will get even more talent for this team to grow and get better. Look at the Saints and Bengals, they were bottom dewellers of the league for years and after high picks in the draft, losing attitudes were changed into pretty good teams that have good players.

The Saints had a decent core of players, a great FA signing, and a good draft class and now look at them. I see the Texans following a very similar path in the near future.

This entire season is a "feeling out process" for the players and coaches. Just look at the draft we had based no extremely limited time Kubes had with the team. After a full season, I believe the draft will be just as good, if not better.

Because if we only pull one positive from this season, it has to be that we have people that can put together a great draft class. And most good teams are built through the draft. So I see great things in the teams future.

And for the Carr haters, of all of the team needs, the QB spot is no where near the top, so once we have taken care of the most glaring needs and then Carr is responible for giving games away, give the guy a break. Look at some of the past superbowl winners and their QBs, (not counting Brady, b/c he is a pimp), but the Steelers, Bucs, Ravens had great Ds and decent QBs, so I believe Carr can win if the rest of the team gets better as well. Look at the Bears this season, Grossman is playing no better then Carr IMO but his team is much better then Carrs and he gets a "get-outta-jail-free-card" because of the talent around him.

just my :twocents:

You have people here that have attacked EVERY member of the team in some way.

Some, but, not many. I really think it's just that most all of us complain about somebody and it adds up to everybody on the team.

AJ is dropping balls,

Well, he does do that a little too much. He's still good and it's not our biggest problem.

Carr isnt the future,

I really don't know. I think he still can be.

Mario dont have many sacks,

Most of us know his foot is messed up and he's still making a difference.

Kub is trying to lose games,

Well, that would be a problem, if it were true. :) His faults are starting to show. Everybody's faults show when you are stuck with a bad team, and everybody has some.

Moulds is a has been,

I don't think he's getting open deep, but nobody else is either--cover 2 deep, probably. Guess we really shouldn't be complaining about Moulds.

Babin aint worth the price,

He wasn't.

Seth Wand was the best person on the team and we released him,

This is the biggest reason that I wanted to respond. I know that you were probably exagerrating some of the things you said just for emphasis, but I gotta respond to this. I have been one of the biggest "complainers" on this subject, but even I have NEVER said that Seth Wand was the best player on this team. I basically said that he MIGHT have still been our best LT as of last preseason (but not in the long run, because Spencer and Winston both had much more potential) and that he was EXCELLENT depth. Excellent depth that should still be on this team and be playing right now because Spencer is out. I don't expect Kubiak to be perfect, but that move was his biggest personnel mistake this year.

We dont have good secondary,

We don't. Faggins is not a starter and FS is an even bigger problem.

we dont have good safetys, we dont have good.... oh it goes on and on.

It does go on and on. :)

Let me remind you of a few things, but it probably wont take. You seem to be hellbent to move toward the darkside, but here is goes.

Darth Vader is my father. :tease:

I pretty much agree with the rest, except that I don't know about that O-line opening up holes, so Ill stop here.

Dime,

Sorry your wrong. I own PSLs and everyone else who owns them I know is sick and tired of paying for this crap.

There will be more TITANS FANS at the next home game than Texans fans. That is all that needs to be said about this poorly run franchise.

I don't see the Texans offering to buy back PSLs anytime soon. Therfor, they don't see the need to put out a product worth paying for (now). If they did, they woudl have drafted Vince or Reggie.

Oh well, I guess we will get to see Vince once a year for now on.

Guess what? Rebuilding starts when you get a new coach; especially when your stock full of the talent we have/had on our roster.

this question has been posted year after year "how can you say the Texans are rebuilding when nothing was ever built to begin with?" (reason for building/rebuilding statement depending on your own personel viewpoint). certainly I know you have been here to hear it all as a regular poster on this board, but for someone paying the bills/psls, gate ticket price, merch or whatever don't they deserve a better product or heck its only money how about a refund? As an act of mercy & forgiveness I challenge the Texans to offer one free game to all season ticket holders to say "thanks, we appreciate your buisness don't despair we'll get things turned around".

Uhh Jeff Fisher? Even though the lost of bunch of players due to various reasons; their cupboard wasn't bare. Don't give me that crap like the Titans have superior talent than the Texans thats a lame excuse, most everyone picked the Titans to finish last before the season. The only difference has been one player, who shall remain nameless (but I'm sure you can guess his name) its attitude (never quit) belief in yourselves, playing through the pain & desire to make the plays you need to win games. Bottom line the Texans have yet to figure out a way to win games they should on a consistant basis from a sheer lack of mental toughness/confidence :shades:

I am not tired of losing games (even though I am really wanting us to be much much better).

While I admire your stamina to endure losing year after year, 21 wins in five seasons will take it's toll on fans. Everyone is only human, after all.

I try to keep things in perspective (i.e. glass half full vs. glass half empty....I say just be glad we have a glass!), but I certainly understand the pessimistic side of human nature.

What am I tired of?

Some of the houston fans. I know.. that is harsh, but you have people here that think the sky is falling.

I'm not a 'chicken little', but at the same time, what is the football equivalent of "the sky is falling"?

Personally, I'd define it like this: If the Colts were having a Texans-type season. That would definitely be a "sky is falling" scenario.

But our team is a cellar-dweller, and as such, we've never even seen the proverbial sky. So in a way I agree with you, but from a completely different perspective. The sky cannot fall if it never existed to begin with.

You have people here that have attacked EVERY member of the team in some way.

Well, to be fair, this is a football forum of a losing football team. I'm not sure what else fans would talk about, unless it's Carr's haircut or Weigert's favorite steakhouse.

Losing teams will suffer a lot of criticism, and rightly so. They earned every bit of it. We can either attack every member of the team or blame just one member of the team. The former seems more logical in our case, because losing is a team effort with the Texans.

You seem to be hellbent to move toward the darkside, but here is goes.

Hey, I resemble that remark! :shades:

Seriously, though, it all comes down to losing and the suffering that fans have to endure because of it. You honestly cannot expect people to be all Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm with a team that sucks this bad. Sunshine has it's place, but not in the cellar.

But I need you to answer one question for me.. Do you see a better team, better play... this year over last year?

But I need you to answer one question for me.. Do you see a better team, better play... this year over last year?

Last year was so bad that this question is almost meaningless (unless the answer is no).

I would ask.. Do you see a better team, better play... this year over 2004?

Last year was so bad that this question is almost meaningless (unless the answer is no).

No.. you cant use 2004 as example. That wasnt this team last year, in the state that it is in.. All We could ever ask is for improvement over the former year. I think we all have to agreed that this team is better. I wont complain as long as we continue to improve in all ascepts of the game.

I would ask.. Do you see a better team, better play... this year over 2004?

Honestly, Runner, that question isn't fair either because we lost Sharper and Glenn. Well, we got Demeco, but we still need a replacement for Glenn. I think next year is what should be compared to 2004 (I think).

I think the acquisitions of Demeco Ryans and Owen Daniels are Kubiak's biggest selling points right now.

OK. We are better than the abomination of last year. We've reached pathetic. Does such progress mean success? Is Kubiak happy with such progress? The players? Should we shoot for stinks next year?

I think 2004 is a good example. We had a lot of the same players. Carr could throw deep in 2004. We could run the ball in 2004. The players looked like they expected to win when they were on the field (for the first 15 games anyway). If we want to learn something, maybe we should look at what is different between real success then and "spin" success now.

2003, 2004, 2005 - it all kind of runs together doesn't it? Bottom line - we are where we are - and the Texans will raise ticker prices AGAIN next year. Thats the only thing you can count on. If I didn't have a PSL, I would laugh all the way to whatever else I was doing on Sunday. But, I've got a PSL - so Bobby has me over a barrell.

Sure glad we don't have Vince or Reggie.

They told me how my PSL's would be worth possibly 3 times the amount in a few years, well it's been 5, and they are not worth face value to most people. .

That's a load of crap.

I don't know who "they" are but you got really bad info if you expected anything more than the right to buy your season tickets every year when you bought your PSL.

The PSL terms and conditions (which you signed as a legal contract with the Licensor if you really are a PSL holder) section 7 (c) states: "Licensee is not acquiring this PSL as an investment and has no expectation of profit as an owner of this PSL."

No one on the Sports Authority side of the house ever made any representation of PSLs being an "investment" in terms of capital gain. They would be quite stupid if they did.

kinda like playing the stock market. huh? except you kinda know what you are getting at the beginning of the season.

At least y'all get to go and enjoy yourself for 4 hours (including tailgating)

stop with the vince and reggie.. if you want to see them sell your PSL's and get nfl on pay per view, you save money and you get to see each of those guys every week .. win win.

Give me a break people. If you are going to read and respond to a post, then read the whole thing. I said I wasn't buying it for profit. I hope to keep them and pass them down. The person who told me was the sales person who referenced the Panthers PSL's going for 3 times the original cost. Sure the agreement says that you are not buying for profit, but they never mentioned that on the phone.

Lastly, for Dime, I do think that PSL holders should have more voice. I am a diehard Texan fan till I die. This product stinks. I do not have much money at all, and had to spend hard earned money on this junk. I spend too much time and money to have tickets that my friends and family say I should pay them to go when I can't attend. Freakin pitiful when you can't give $270 worth of tickets and parking away.

To add to that, when I had friends that were on my season ticket account bail out, the saleperson convinced me to keep their tickets and sell them on Ebay.

How about this lie also......The only people allowed to renew their seats are PSL holders. That is a load of crap. I shelled out good money to have no additional rights than anyone outside of the 20's in the upperdeck.

I did. And here's the part I responded to:

They told me how my PSL's would be worth possibly 3 times the amount in a few years, well it's been 5, and they are not worth face value to most people. I did not buy them for resale, but it has all been smoke and mirrors around here.

You heavily implied an expectation of capital gain.

As far as smoke and mirrors, I bought my PSL under the premise that it was money I'd possibly never see again. I looked at it as my donation to the stadium fund (which it was) and my contribution to bringing the NFL back to Houston.

this question has been posted year after year "how can you say the Texans are rebuilding when nothing was ever built to begin with?" (reason for building/rebuilding statement depending on your own personel viewpoint). certainly I know you have been here to hear it all as a regular poster on this board, but for someone paying the bills/psls, gate ticket price, merch or whatever don't they deserve a better product or heck its only money how about a refund? As an act of mercy & forgiveness I challenge the Texans to offer one free game to all season ticket holders to say "thanks, we appreciate your buisness don't despair we'll get things turned around".

What people choose to do with their money is their problem. I'm 100% sure Bob didn't force one single PSL owner to purchase. They could have used their money for anything. They choose to "invest" in PSL. What does that investment get you? One seat; nothing else. No voice, no opinon, no back stage pass. Does Wal-Mart give you one free hour of shopping when you purchase $1000 worth of products?

Don't give me that crap like the Titans have superior talent than the Texans thats a lame excuse, most everyone picked the Titans to finish last before the season. The only difference has been one player, who shall remain nameless (but I'm sure you can guess his name) its attitude (never quit) belief in yourselves, playing through the pain & desire to make the plays you need to win games. Bottom line the Texans have yet to figure out a way to win games they should on a consistant basis from a sheer lack of mental toughness/confidence :shades:

Oh please, go look at their roster and look at ours. I'd say there is atleast one person at most every position that is better than ours. Let's see (I'll bold who I believe is better):

C:
MAWAE
Flanagan

CB:
WOOLFOLK
JONES
DRob
Faggains/PBuch (I'll take either of theirs over these- from a football standpoint only)

DE:
VANDEN BOSCH
ODOM
Williams
Weaver

DT:
HAYNESWORTH
SMITH

TJ
Payne

FB: (I'll say Hall here since Cook seems to fumble at inappropriate times)
HALL
Cook

G:
OLSON
BELL
Pitts
Weary

K:
BIRONAS - Can kick a game winner
Brown

LB:
BULLUCK
SIRMON
THORNTON
Orr
Ryan
Greenwood

P:
HENTRICH
Stanley

QB: (Not touching this one with a 10 ft pole)
YOUNG
COLLINS
Carr
Rosenfels

RB:
BROWN
HENRY
WHITE
Lundy
Gato
Dayne

S:
Hope
Thompson

Earl
Brown

T: (Could this one be any worse for both?)
STEWART
ROOS
Salaam/Spencer
Winston/Wiegert

TE:
SCAIFE
TROUPE
Owens

Putzier

WR:
GIVENS
BENNETT
Johnson
Moulds

Of course this is only my opinion. And we all know what opinions are like.... Needless to say, they have better tools overall then we do.

When I had to scrape the bottom of my barrel for PSL's, it makes you scrape harder when they sell it would be an investment if you needed to get rid of them.

I do not like to get personel when debating topics on this forum, lets just say we agree to disagree. At some point ticket sales will decline (What do I care? not much only that the product on the field has even a higher possiblity of sucking than they already do & thats enough to at least voice an opinion) people will become discouraged & detached then humpty dumpty can put all the peices together again. Look you can't rebuff what the community wants on a continuous basis & expect a herd mentality of devoution (PSL investment aside) to purchase your product. 5 years. 5 years of losing, bottom line enough is enough. The losing attitude needs to stop, we have some talent, well at least our payroll says as much (where is Dan Ferens - Pttsburgh?) nice job with that one.

Yes, lets agree to disagree and not make it personal. We have enough turmoil and drama on this board already. I'm always up for a football discussion and I do believe that we both have the same intentions. :texflag:

I am not tired of losing games (even though I am really wanting us to be much much better).

I am not tired of waitng for Carr to show his stuff we got him for (that might change by the end of the year).

I am not tired of seeing Mario not getting sacks, or Kubs playcalling, or many other things..

What am I tired of?

Some of the houston fans. I know.. that is harsh, but you have people here that think the sky is falling.

For those members who cannot face the truth that we are slowly getting better, Bad rep me away. I dont mind. All I ask is that you think about without emotion on where the team was, and where it is today, and compare the two. If you give it a just shake, I think you will see I am right.

You my friend said it perfectly!!!
