Why doesn't Kubiak watch plays?

Was at the game and noticed on probably over half of the plays during the entire game, Kubiak had his eyes in his playbook and/or was looking the other way WHILE the play was happening.
Anyone else ever notice this? I remember a few games ago, it was made light of when they made that 2 point conversion at the end and he was looking away.
Not a big deal, i know he's on the radio w/his guys in the booth and he's strategizing, i just find it a little odd that he isn't actually watching the action happen himself. Do other coaches do this?

The OC that is up in the booth who can see the plays better than Kubiak is relaying info to him on the headset. Not like you can see everything look at eye level and having 6'6" 300 guys all over the place.

Thats kind of what i was thinking.

It's like a game of chess, where you think a couple of steps ahead of your opponent, depending on what the other side does. I'd imagine that he's in this mode of thinking, but that is just speculation on my part.

This reminds me of the nit that was picked regarding Capers taking notes.

Would this be given a second thought if they were winning more?:hmmm:

I think its a non-issue. HC's are usually two and three plays ahead in their mind, rather than in the current. As someone else had mentioned that the OC up in the booth can see whats happening a lot better anyway....
