Is this the worst loss?

I know there have been a few close games we've lost, and a few close games we've won. But is this Bills loss the worst loss we've had as a franchise? Consider that we were favored to win and we lost in such a heart-breaking manner.

I know that the loss to the Browns that cost us a .500 season was pretty bad, too, but the dramatics weren't there since we were pretty much blown out that game.

If there were worse losses in the franchise's history, please remind me.

THIS YEAR
a colts game in 03 or 04 when we took them down to the final 20 or so seconds and manning threw a td pass

and the titans in 03 or 04 same situation but mcnair threw a lob into the back of the endzone and we lost again

Canada Eh
Rams, just because in this game it was close and everyone knew that it could happen, but against the rams, we were up by so much and gave it up

Washington, Philadelphia, and Dallas losses were worse. At least we're competing now.
Yeah, I mean, we were down 14-0 and fought back to 21-17. And then we were really in the driver's seat and should have shut the door.

We did some positive things this game. We just made too many little mistakes and left too many yards on the field. (And then played prevent instead of the type of defense that had been working most of the rest of the game.)

But at least we were in this one. Remember the Seahawk game last year, that SUCKED.

This one felt like the worst to me! Alot of the games mentioned in this thread we were playing far more talented teams and were playing above our heads to be in the game! We are a better team than Buffalo! We had 400 yards of offense, a great rushing attack and were driving up and down the field seemingly in command. To play a solid game except for a fumble by cook and two blown coverages for huge plays by Evans and we dominate this game and leave with a win! I can handle losing to a dominate team that takes us lighly and allows us into the game, but a game like today where we do so many things right and still loose to a weak Bills team. That hurts the most!

Rams game was the worst last year. This one sucks as well, as do the Titans and Colts one's that other's are referring to.

Browns game in '04 because it would have been our first non-losing season-as others have said, it was all 'down hill' after that...

JMO, but today's game is frustrating because we've lost several like it during our existence, where we just sit on a 'lead' and then--out of 'nowhere'--the other team comes alive and beats us in the end. We didn't even score an offensive pt in the 2nd half...just content to sit on that lead...surely, Kubiak knows that was a 'staple' of the Capers era...

Don't forget about the Vikings game I think in '04 when they got a huge play to win the game in overtime. Seems like stupid stuff like this has happened a lot :brickwall

I would have to say Rams last year. We were killing them, but we found a way to loose the game.

Another staple of the Capers era was David Carr. Coincidence?

Rams last year!
I'll agree with that one. Although the Packers game left me very aggrovated also. First and ten on the fifty and spit they bit. By the Rams game, there were so many flops befor it, we were prety desinsitized to the point that a lot of us saw it coming befor the ax actually found the mark with the Curtus reception in over time. Therefore the wound was merely confirmation.

I've been to every single home game, and I think you are correct. This was the worst loss ever in my opinion. The sad thing is once again you can reduce it down to 2 plays really. Butterfingers worthless cook......and the 3rd and 2 pass play were horrible. This was supposed to be the game where the team finally turned the corner. I'm still on board, but wow this one really hurt. :twocents:
