I am typically a Carr supporter, I think he is a victim of our bad player selection, development, and coaching over a four year period. However todays game concerned me over Carrs protection and confidence building. Carrs interception did not really bother me, if you have TO, Randy Moss, Andre Johnson etc throwing the ball up and letting them rip it away from the DB can be an effective play. Hell the pass into double coverage to Johnson vs the Jags in the first game at home could have easily been an interception. My concern is with Carrs interception in the first quarter on that play it seemed we changed our deep passing game so as not to expose Carr to the possibility of a mistake. If we are going to stick with Carr we should not be afraid to let him make a few mistakes going deep, it happens in the deep passing game. Favre, Brees, Bulger all throw Ints in the deep game, its a part of the deep game. It seems we are afraid to upset the fans and give them fuel on the anti Carr fire or we are afraid of upsetting Carrs confidence when a mistake is made early, either way its not good! We ran all over the Bills which should have allowed for the deep game, especially with Moulds facing single coverage! All I ever hear in the NFL is you have to use the run to set up the pass and today we finally had the running game working and still no deep balls after the interception. This losss bothers me more than all of the others in the past, we are better than the Bills. We over came blown coverages early, deep passes and Carr's int. and still gave the game away with the damn prevent defense (frank Reich anyone) and a strange pass on 3rd and 2.
