Chad Stanley! Great Leg!

His last 3 punts from within our 30 and he avg 34 yards per punt!! Look at NFL.com he ranks dead last!! How much more of this guy must we have to deal with. He makes it hard for our team to win when he sucks so bad!

enough of this "I can punt farther" crap. You don't have top class athletes running at you. I could tell he's trying to kick it high. Look at the punts inside the 5. That's how Marciano wants Stanley to kick it, so that the coverage can catch up.

He did get the ball in some great spots today, but with the team needing better field position with the game on the line, a 30 yard punt isn't exactly what the team needed.

Someone from the Dynamos can join the team!

If blah blah blah was running, and blah blah blah!

he gets a paycheck, DO THE JOB!

This is crap. At the end of the game it's all about field position. 34 yards ain't gonna cut it.
He is absolutely not an NFL caliber punter.

You have to admit that when Stanley chanks punts at the end of games, or when we need him to boom one deep...he cannot do it.

So many boneheads today: Cook fumbling (again) , Stanley unable to punt deep when needed , Bad playcalling on a 3rd and 2 , Prevent defense , Faggins getting burned twice in a row on deep passes for TDs.

I knew we were going to lose the game.

I looked at my wife, and said 'We're going to lose this game." She got mad at me and when the TD happened, I looked ta her and raised an eyebrow. Didn't even need to say a word to her. She giggled and said "I knew I should have taken a nap instead of watching the game."

Only the Texans can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory like that.

anyone can punt the ball high, so that is no excuse! chad stanley is not even nfl europe caliber punter, moorman of the bills is the type of punter we need. That guy changed field position all day for the bills. we might as well go for it on 4th down and let carr throw and hail mary and let the other team intercept it...itll be a better outcome, at least carr can throw the ball a good 60 yards whereas stanley at best can punt the ball 30 yards max!

Really really bad job by chad ............ 4th quarter come on CHAD!!!!!! He gave the ball on the 45. That is just sad CHAD!

you people are stupid. i dont give a crap how far he can punt. he put 3 punts inside the bills 10 yd line. he was the reason why we didnt get blown out in this game. i dont understand you people wanting a change at the PUNTER (of all positions) he isnt the reason why we are 3-7. there are other things this team needs and yall talk about him like he is the worst player on the team. back off of him!

I can punt further than 50 yards. Most soccer players can. Try punting it when you only have 2 seconds until 250lbs. football players hit you.

Thats your job. Your job, your one sole job on the team is to kick the football. If you can't do that then your fired.

lol...the average field position for the bills today was their own 14, dont think special teams was at fault here

thank you! stanley was the best defensive player on the team. if you want to dump fault on any area, put it on the offense for making stanley have to go out there in the first place for the entire 2nd half!! if it makes yall happier, the offense should do better so stanley wouldnt have to have an impact on the game. he did his best to not give them field position or big returns that could make things worse.

Hey buddy, Chad Stanley ranks dead in the league, LAST!!!! He did play a huge factor into Buffalo winning the game! Chad Stanley is Capers Cancer and he needs to go!

how was he a factor in letting them win??? tell me....was it by putting 3 punts within 10 yd line??

folks were 3-7.....stanley only works when our offense fails. someone tell the offense to start playing better so that you people can shut up and not flame on stanley like he is the person keeping this team from winning a superbowl.

Heck I can punt the ball 50 yards if I have time and a good kick! (kicking the ball on the right spot). And i'm not that strong or tall. However it's very hard to punt a ball far when you have no time. He's a pro though, he should be able to do so.

his punt lead to Drob's interception for a TD. he is somewhere along the best in terms of return average against, which is good because our team cant tackle. it would be nice to get an extra 5-10 yards on his punts, but i think the punts inside the 10 and lack of return pretty much breaks him even

And all those got us where? A loss.

Big deal if we pinned them deep.

Stanley gave them great field position for the last drive.

So, in effect, his earlier efforts were all for nothing.

I criticized David earlier this year for tip-toeing down the sideline instead of staying in bounds and putting his shoulder down to get the first down. It cost us the game because we didn't conver the downs on what was going to be a score.

That's the kind of lack-of-focus play that has cursed this team.

David gets benched for not having focus, but other guys can shank punts or fumble balls consistently, etc., and they don;t get reprimanded?

Amazing.

Yeah, thanks for focusing all game long (Chad) and then give the Bills great field position to win the game.

Nice game, Chad. Way to step up when the game's on the line.

unbelievable. like i said, the offense should have performed better so where chad wouldnt have to go out there at all! that would make yall happy!

So its David Carr's fault?? I can agree with that!

Uhh, they are playing better.

Go check our stats and record against this time last year.

What isn't playing better is a punter that cannot (and I mean CANNOT) punt past 30 or 35 yards.

That's like having a QB who cannot pass farther than 20 yards.

How do other players get to lose focus and shank punts, etc., and not get reprimanded?

Amazing.

Stanley cannot punt. Yeah, he places a ball near the goal line...when he's 30 or 40 yards out from it. Do the math: it's because that's as far as he can boom one. He's putting all of his leg into it.

i didnt say that. it could have been the lack of a consistent running game, it coulda been the playcalling, it coulda been carr not finding open recievers will all day to throw.....i didnt say it was entirely on carr.

you tell me where the offense went the entire 2nd half....

you tell me where the offense went the entire 2nd half....

Both teams were going three and out. There was some hitting out there, helmets flying, pads cracking, some guys playing tough D from where I stood.

Point is this: When it counted, in the end, Stanley couldn't punt a ball over 3o yards. The returner had to SPRINT hard just to get under it! He probably thought a Punt-Pass-Kick kid had gotten out there and punted that ball. No, take that back: Some of those kids are punting more than 30 yards.

In the clutch, a guy got a good snap, a good swing into it, and yet he could not produce a punt deeper than 30 yards.

30 yards.

Think about it for a second.

30 yards.

How does he collect a paycheck.

More reason for the NFL to ban kicking AND punting all together and just make teams fight it out for TDs all day.

with (1:57) left in the 4th with a 4 point lead C.Stanley punts 36 yards to BUF 45, Center-B.Pittman, fair catch by R.Parrish. (Punt hang time 4.9 seconds.)

This is why I think he should be cut. And it's not the 1st time nor the 5th time he's tapped a punt 36 yards when we needed him to boot a 50 + yarder.
Time for chad stop hanging(pun) punts and start kicking like his job depends on it.

think of it this way, the further he punts it, the more room for a return the punt returner will have to get the yards back or more. i would rather see him punt shorter to negate the chance of a big return.

i just dont understand why yall hate him so much...almost like he is the biggest reason why we are 3-7.

Well, when it's late in the game and our defense is gassed.....is it too much to ask a PUNTER to punt a ball longer than 30 yards?

That's not unreasonable is it?

I mean, other players get smacked and are pushing their bodies to the limits all game long...and a punter cannot punt it farther than 30 yards?

Go to a High School game and tell me how far those KIDS are punting the ball.

And here's an NFL punter who cannot boom a punt?

Sorry, bro. It's fairly obvious to me.

When we are punting from teh opponents 45 or 50, it is easy to live with the 35 yard punt.

However, you can see what Buffalo's punter did in terms of chaning the field position game when they had to punt from deep. If you made BUffalo go another 10-15 ayrds at the end of the game, it would have made a difference. They got way too good a field position. AND YES, I KNOW YOU WILL SAY THE OFFENSE SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN THE FIRST DOWN, BUT THEY DIDN'T SO WE HAD TO RELY ON ANOTHER FACET OF THE TEAM GAME, AND THAT PART OF TEH GAME IS NOT UP TO PAR, PERIOD.

Easy now. You're using logic.

There's no need for that type of thinking around here.

David sucks. That's the story and we need to stick with it, OK?

I agree with you, gpshafer.

I expect our punter to be able to put it inside the 10 when it is a short-field punt AND boom it when we need to push them back deep. That is his only job and he is getting paid well to do it and he is not stepping up. He has come up short time and time again and I get sick of it. We need a real NFL punter.

Newsflash: Chad Stanley is a horrible NFL punter.

But he is an Aggie so I am sure Kubiak and the clueless Stanley myopians will make up some excuse and keep him employed.

doug ftw

To me we saw the real Chad Stanley today (several times)

He is one of the best at pinning the other team inside their 20, but one of the worst in changing field position when punting from deep in our own end.

He wasn't the reason we lost today, but I do see the Texans with a different punter next year.

compared to other things on the list that are not up to par, punter is not something i would prioritize over anything. thats just my opinion. we arent a 3-7 team bc of him. if we were even 5-5, nobody would say anything about him

I understand his accuracy which is a good thing but, 30 something yds punt is not an ideal punter distance. I would take distance over accuracy. Because accuracy can be obtain through practice but distance is difficult to obtain from practice. Like palying golf, even you practice some people are limited in driving distance. But for some, it comes naturally like Tiger,Daly etc.

Now, I am not saying he is the only reason we lost today's game. He could help a little more by puntting longer distance. IMO today's game costing mistakes are Cook and Pitts but Chad could help the team by hitting longer distance.
