[Chron] Daniels gives Texans hope for a sunny forecast

I keep hearing that OD was a Casserly pick. And, from what im reading in this, the team pretty much didnt know anything about him as a tightend(and neither did anyone else), and he was coming off of a semi-serious injury. So i guess what im trying to say is, this could very easily have been yet another casserly pick that just didnt pan out. this one seems like it had even less upside than say someone like travis johnson or jason babin (both of those guys underachieved early is all im saying). we lucked out on OD and so did casserly, b/c in picking him he atleast made up for a little bit of the heartache hes left in uis wake

he is a big part of the foundation we have in store for this franchise up the road with mario, demeco, carr, earl, robinson, johnson, spencer, winston, and the other rookies and mainstays.

daneils is going to be an absolute stud...is comforting to know that carr has someone that can be a reliable outlet. this season, offensively, is already a vast improvement (mho) over last years.

Yeah, Daniels was definately a Casserly pick.

Kubiak says former general manager Charley Casserly and Texans scouts deserve the credit for Daniels being here.

"When we took our break on Saturday night during the draft, we spent a lot of time talking about what we were going to do the next morning," Kubiak said. "There were many names that came up, but Charley and the scouts really stood up for this young man.

"They made a believer out of me that he would be the best fit for our football team."

I will waste absolutely no opportunity to rub that in. :stirpot:
