And Old Rag Top

Ed DeBartolo Jr, Ron Wolf, Bruce Matthews, Dick Vermeil, Michael Irvin,
Ed "Too Tall" Jones, Herschel Walker

That's my 7.

I don't know with the new TV contract and labor issues settled for a while, How do you leave Tags off the list. Bunch of cow polks on your list. Get use to a little dissapointmnt. Irving's not going in untill Monk goes in. That seemed perfectly clear after last years selections. Eastern press has a choke hold on that nomination. And they ain't turning loose.

Paul Tagliabue
Phill Simms
Thurman Thomas or Rickey Watters
Bruce Mathews or Russ Grimm
Gill Brandt
Charlie Sanders
Ed Jones

That's my 7. Give ya two cow Polks

Mark Bavaro TE --tough as they come. Not many tackled him without help. Looked for guys to run over.

Ray Guy Punter--Only punter picked in the first round. Showed punting was more then just how far you could kick. Could make the ball do tricks.

Russ Grimm, Joe Jacoby. OL-- The reason Washington won Super Bowls. Should go in as a unit because the Hogs played as a unit.

Bruce Matthews OL-- Played forever everywhere along the line at a high level. Will not see his likes again soon.

Sam Mills LB-- Too small to play. Had to start in the USFL with the old Phillly Stars. Proved that physical size means nothing compaired to heart. Just a great leader on the field and a great man period.

Ed Sabol Founder on NFL Films-- The reason we have records of the game before it really became popular. The Dallas- Green Bay "Ice Bowl" is the best known, but there is film of every game from then until now.
Just a guy with an idea to film pro football for the love of the game.

Final note: Bob Hays not even on the list anymore. Some day somebody will GET THIS RIGHT and vote him in where he belongs.

The Class of 2007 will be determined at the Selection Committee's annual meeting on Saturday, February 3, 2007, in Miami, Florida, the day before Super Bowl XLI. The election results are announced immediately following the meeting at a press conference at the media headquarters. Hall of Fame bylaws stipulate that between three and six new members will be selected each year.

Just because they are the list does not mean they get in.

Bruce Matthews - G/T/C - 1983-2001 Houston Oilers/Tennessee Oilers/Titans

Ed Sabol (founder NFL Films)

I left off Vermeil and Tagliabue because they will get in, and they just retired.

One thing I do not get is how anyone can vote Terrel Davis into the HoF. It is the HoF not the hall "i was good but got injured" of fame. I am sorry his career was cut short but that is how it goes. His numbers do not even compare to those that are in it.

What about Steve Atwater?

He is probably the 2nd best safety of all time behind Ronnie Lott.

Is Alvin Haper eligiable, I think you forgot to list him as well. We all know if you play for the cowpukes then you deserve to be in the HoF

Who on that list clearly doesn't deserve to be in the Hall?--other than just hating on the Cowboys. And no Harper does not deserve Hall consideration.

Bob Hayes should be added though.

Bruce Matthews
Paul Tagliabue, Thurman Thomas, Michael Irvin, and Bruce Matthews are among the 17 finalists that will be considered for election to the Pro Football Hall of Fame when the Hall's Board of Selectors meets in Miami, Florida on Saturday, February 3, 2007.

Who on that list clearly doesn't deserve to be in the Hall?--other than just hating on the Cowboys. And no Harper does not deserve Hall consideration.

Bob Hayes should be added though.

Alvin Harper was NOT a HOF player. A good one no doubt but not that good.

Bob Hayes should have been in a long, long time ago.

funny because most girls' fans say there's a bias against putting their players in the hall. funny indeed.

I'm not a Cowboys fan, but they have a point. When you see guys like Bob Hayes and Drew Pearson being left out, while Lynn Swann and his pedestrian numbers get in, it raises a red flag to me as well. And Swann won 4 rings, but how many did Pearson win? At least 2, I think. And Hayes won 2 as well, I believe and changed the way the game was played in the process. Anyone could make as strong a case for Ed Jones as many of the defensive ends that are currently in.

Harper shouldn't even have been mentioned in this thread.
