Official OSU vs Michigan thread...

The big game is this saturday. Each team has an outstanding defense. Each runningback will be kept in check, so i think the game will come down to the qb that can make the most plays.

My prediction:
Ohio State 17
Michigan 14

I think this game will come down to the last possession...

Any future NFLers playing in this game Saturday ? Of course I jest, since
there will be many.
Which of these players should Texans fans be most interested in watching as the most likely to be considered for selection by the Texans in next Aprils Draft ?

I'd consider the following players a possibility:

Jake Long, OT (UM)
Alan Branch, DT (UM)
Quinn Pitcock, DT (OSU)
Shawn Crable, OLB (UM)
Leon Hall, CB (UM)
Willis Barringer, S (UM)

Id put Mike Hart in that list as well, if he decides to declare...he'd thrive in our system...

No doubt. A lot of scouts think he could drop to the 3rd or even the 4th! cuz of his size.

My brother is a know-it-all about Michigan & he says that Hart & Henne are both staying one more year... as of now. It could change based on how the season plays out.

Hart is a realistic guy tho & seems to think that he should wait til next year cuz he might be the #1 back. This year he is behind Peterson, Lynch, Bush, Irons, & probably Darby.

Next year he would only be behind McFadden & maybe Rice (who would both be Juniors).

I have a good feeling about Michigan to win this game.

I'm gonna pick them to win but I'm not gonna post a score til later in the week.

That being said, where is MI in the BCS after a narrow loss on the road?

And GO BUCKEYS!

Pitcock is a Lombardi finalist, I'll be going to see him. Are excluding Troy for Texans (lol)?

Woody Paige thinks that Ohio St will win because they like to run up the score in the 4th against weak opponents & Michigan doesnt.

wouldn't fall too far. i think the pollsters would vote them 3rd though, especially following 2 more weeks of football. if rutgers wins out, they could sneak in there because the computers love them so much.

Furry Tractors
I've been a fan of Hart for a while, but I haven't seen Michigan much this year. When I did, however, Hart looked good. The kind of back I could see us drafting. Seeing as how Maurice Jones Drew and DeAngelo William went in the first two rounds, I don't think Hart's size will drop him in the draft much.

Neither do I.

But what a bargain he would be if he did fall.

Some people are saying Cinderella will be dressed in blue and gold on Saturday....I don't buy that. Go Buckeyes !!

OSU 17
UM 7

Keep an eye on Doug Datish, OSU center. I think he could help the Texans O line a lot. :twocents:

What about LaMarr Woodley. He's 6'2" 267, runs a 4.6. Last I heard, he was a Lombardi finalist.

Of course I like Alan Branch, too!

Bo Schembechler dies at 77. No matter what team your a fan of, his legacy is one of the greatest in college sports.

This may already be posted. I sure hope the Texans organization is taking a good look today!

Quote SI:
The eyes of the college football world and many folks from the NFL will be focused on Columbus, Ohio, for the Michigan-Ohio State showdown. This game not only holds national championship implications, but will also showcase the prospects of many players who will impact the NFL Draft. Almost a dozen draft-eligible players on the field Saturday presently hold first-day grades. Here's the breakdown:

GO BUCKEYES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Michigan CB Leon Hall #29 - Top 10/possibly Top 5 - Not much needs to be said here. You all know him, but unless the Texans collapse the rest of the season, we'd have to trade up to get him.

OSR WR Ted Ginn, Jr. #7 - Top 20/possibly Top 10 - Probably more interesting to the Texans in how he tests Leon Hall than as a player in his own right. It might be a little early to be drafting a replacement for Moulds, but it would be hard to pass on this guy if he somehow fell to the halfway point of the 1st.

Michigan OT Jake Long #77 - Top 20 - I'd keep a real close eye on him. If the Texans aren't sold on one of our rookie tackles and Long enters the draft, he might well be our guy. With a crop of potentiall 5 1st round OTs, Long may "fall" to the mid-1st for the Texans.

Michigan DT Alan Branch #80 - Top 20 - With Payne possibly done, a wide-body run-stopping like Branch might be a possibility if he enters the draft. One of the big reasons why Michigan's run defense is so feared.

OSU DT Quinn Pitcock #90 - 1st-mid2nd - Really stepped it up this year, more balanced (better pass rush) than Branch but smaller and not as dominant against the run. Would probably be great value in the 2nd round.

Michigan LB David Harris #45 - mid2nd-mid3rd - He should play DeMeco's spot, so don't focus too much on him. However, one reason many of us were very high on DeMeco even before the draft last year was his ability to play all three linebacker spots. A move might not be out of the question.

Michigan OLB Prescott Burgess #6 - 3rd - An Ohioan playing for Michigan ... pretty decent in coverage, played safety in high school. I'm going to be watching him to see how he gets off blocks.

OSU C Doug Datish #50 - 3rd - Played left tackle until Mangold entered the draft last year. Despite the short resume at the position, he's been good this year, at least.

Woodley probably goes too early for the Texans to consider him as he's best suited for a 3-4 OLB position.

i have a feeling this game will turn on something like a tipped pass for an INT....these teams are just too evenly matched. awesome game.

If Crables not the best backer, the #1 guy has got to be special.
Speaking of special, Hart is that. Small, but still a very hard runner. Very
scrappy. Looks kinda like Dominick, but quicker ?
They said Michigan was running the ZB scheme now. Wonder how high Hart goes in the Draft, if he comes out this year ?
