Support factors: Sixty percent of each team’s score is based on three support factors. A team with high average attendance, high percent of capacity and low attendance fluctuation will do best on this side of the formula. Here’s an explanation of these three support factors:
1. Average attendance -- Average crowd at regular-season home games, 1996-2005.
2. Percent of capacity -- Percentage of all available seats that were occupied at home games, 1996-2005.
3. Attendance fluctuation -- Difference (in percentage points) between the best and worst annual percentages of occupied seats, 1996-2005.

Sophisticated analysis of team loyalty by their fans - Houston is ranked #7.
Lot of assumptions here, but worth a look.

Looks like Cleveland dominated the field.

Their fans would have to be pretty loyal tho if they are still there.

Yeah; that Dallas #5 ranking is horrible. I'm gonna have to call that exercise, and especially that outcome as a crock of $*%.

Anyone who went to Dallas for the Texans/Cowboys game knows why. Hell; that first half? That stadium was quieter than ours was when we went 2-14!

Yeah well I would have to agree with you on that one... considering what their fans are like. UGH! Its Cowboys week for us! :fireball:

Wasn't the score something like 6-3 at halftime? Not much to cheer about.

Jacksonville has to put a tarp over 9000 seats because they can't sell out their stadium. That should say something, especially when they have a halfway decent team.

By the end of the 3rd, there weren't very many loyal Texans fans around to point this out to.

Dallas has filled at least 95 percent of its seats every year since 1996, even though the on-field product has been erratic. The Cowboys have suffered five losing seasons in that span.
How can our attendance percentage be so high since '96 when we have such bandwagon/fairweather fans?

Anyone who's seen Reliant Stadium on gamedays the past two seasons knows a certain team shouldn't be anywhere near a top-10 list, much less one taking in consideration attendance...
