I'me more po'ed at Kris Brown, he better pick up the pace. I thought he was gonna cost us the game today. Here's to the Texans, the future is bright ladies and gentlemen!

Thanks for this thread. Our special teams have become a liability. For an improving young team we cannot afford to have this aspect of the team shooting us in the foot. Right now we are winning in spite of the special teams.

I don't know. He doesn't have the strongest leg, but my impression is that Marciano wants Stanley to sacrifice yardage for the sake of hang time to help the coverage unit. While his gross is 30th, his net is 19th in the league.

Which put him in the bottom half for net yardage. That is a number that can be upgraded.

That is Stanley's job.

Has anybody ever noticed how little time the returner has to make a move once he catches the ball?

People hate him cuz he cant punt it 45 yds but I'm assuming that the Texans knew this before the fans did.

So they have him hit it high so there is no chance for a return.

The NET PUNTING is the stat we should be looking at (along with punts inside the 20). I dont care if the guy averages 35 yds if that means we will never give up a big return.

yes he punts it high to minimize returns, but every punter does that ... it's not a chad stanley exclusive to try and give your coverage guys enough time to stop a return. the only difference is that they consistantly get it 10+ yards farther along with that height. stanley doesnt have a strong enough leg, and i'm positive it wouldnt be that difficult to find someone who does.

and kris brown's terrible. i dont watch much college ball but i'd deffinately spend a draft pick on upgrading our kicker if at all possible.

We might have a problem, because I don't know if you can fire God. He may have something preventing that in his contract, or recompense....like judgement day or something.

I keep trying to see the bright side, but I...can't. This has been a recurrent problem since LAST YEAR!!!

Why is it that our special teams blow so much this year?

First off my Bull Headed Breathren ...:marionaner: congrats on sweeping the Jags this year..WOO HOO...but Houston we have a special teams problem. Our formerly reliable field goal kicker has cost us games and almost cost us another yesterday.

Brown is responsible for missing free money field goals that could have either won us additional games this year or in yesterdays game could have put it out of reach earlier avoiding the need for 4th down rushes.

We need to find a kicker able to make anything under 45 yards on a REGULAR basis.

Just my opinion.
