Our Houston Texans will make a trip to South Florida to do battle with the tough Jacksonville Jaguars for the second time this season. This will conclude a three game road trip for our Texans.
This is a big game for our Texans for a few reasons, it would give us our first roads win since December 2004, we could surpass our win total from last year, we can head into our first home game in a few weeks with some momentum, and we could sweep those Jags in a season for the second time in our franchise history.
I have drawn up a little outline of Jacksonville, since I already constructed a big preview as we played them already this season, 3 weeks back.
A big change that has occured in Jacksonville since we played them a few weeks ago takes place at the quaterback posistion. Byron Leftwhich is injured or benched, which ever you believe and David Garrard is now calling the shots.
Garrard is one hell of a QB, he is 22 for 39 with 3 TD's and 0 INT's in his 2 starts for Jacksonville. He has alot of size on him, but doesnt let that keep him from making plays with his legs. He can certianly scramble or take off up field occasionaly. He is a pretty solid Quarterback and you really can only contain him.
Freddy Taylor is the Jaguars running back, he is obviously very solid. He has 3touchdowns on nearly 650 yards. Look for Maurice Jones Drew to also get carries, he may be just as good as Taylor with 3 TD's as well and 320 yards on 70 carries. This is a tough run game to stop, and just adds to this good Jacksonville offense.
At WR's for Jacksonville, they are Ernest Wilford, Reggie Williams and Matt Jones.
Defensively, just to highlight a couple strong points on this Jacksonville team who is knows for their defense, Daryl Smith is tied for the lead with tackles at 33.
Leading this defense with sacks, the big John Henderson. He has currently recorded nearly 4 sacks, and he also has 18 tackles.
Probably the biggest weapon on Jacksonville's defense, which is saying alot, is CB Rasheen Mathis. Mathis has recorded a great 6 INT's already this season, just one attribute that makes him one of the leauge's best. He also has the second most tackes on the team, with 29. Mathis is just one of those corners the QB's try to avoid.
My ''Keys to Success vs: Jacksonville" will be posted tomorrow, (Thursday).
Again, this will be another big game for our Texans, and I'm already excited about it.
