Slaton's Heisman Chances

Sorry kid. Heisman campaign over.

It was a great season. Over 150 yds against Louisville.

But West Virginia had to win this game for him to have a chance.

4 fumbles in the biggest game of your career is the opposite of what you have to do if you want that trophy.

Good luck next year. You will be on the top 5 watch list.

pat white is the future heisman winner on this team. he took command of that offense with slaton out and has a higher ceiling.

he was good last night passing the ball.

and all year, for that matter. completing 68.8% of his passes.

uhh he completed several big passes. 11 of 16 in the 2nd half.

but they don't need to pass the ball anyway.

He is not a pretty passer but the ball got where it was supposed to go last night.

13/20 for 222 yds. That includes 2 drops by WRs.

He had 2 or 3 passes they were just outright ugly but he took this game over & dominated it.

His team still lost but 350 yds & 4 TDs tells me it wasnt his fault.

I don't care about his passing percentage....or how many "big passes" he completed....

His pocket presence is horrible...and he looks like he's aiming his passes...

Towards the end of the game, he threw two completely awful passes, that showed his true colors....

One a crossing route which he threw about ten yards behind the guy, and the other a deep sidline route that went about ten feet over the guys head...

Nothing you can say, and no stats you can find will ever convince me that this guy is a good passer....

yeah, ignore the 13 well-placed accurate passes because he ovethrew 2 guys. great.

"Pat White can't pass to save his life..." is an ignorant comment.

:blah:

I never said ignore those other passes...you did...

I said those two passes showed his true colors...

I'm not going to argue with you about this...You are bragging about his completion percentage and he's thrown no more than 115 passes all season....and has completed no more than eighty....one game he was 100% on 4 for 4 passing which makes his completion % look great proving once again stats are for losers.... :loser

He has thrown the ball more than 20 times in only one game this season...which by the way he threw for 3 INT's.....

If you were impressed with the types of passes last night then so be it...I'm sticking to my guns...he is not a good passer

edit: I take that back....stats aren't for losers...looking at his stats every time he goes over 15 passes he throws a pick....great passer....

You have to be the only person on this side the Sun that thinks White is a good passer...

i've never said he was a good passer. he's doing a good job though. much better than what some people think. you don't HAVE to throw the ball in that offense, and when he does, he generally completes the ball. can't ask for much more than that.

What would Reggie Ball be if he didnt have Calvin Johnson to catch all those ducks he throws everywhere?

I get scared just thinking about it.

I agree, for sure. Slaton will leave early and Pat White will stick till his senior year IMO. He is the future star of the team.

well thats why he won't be in the nfl, not why he won't win a heisman. all he has to do is show that he can somewhat throw so teams don't stack the box.

If I'm not mistaken this thread was about Slaton's Heisman chances....

Please show me where I said that Pat White won't win the Heisman in the future because of his passing....

Pat White puts no touch on his passes. He guns every pass in to his receivers which causes some drops and poorly thrown balls. If he can correct this and a few other things he can be a great QB.

Mike Vick has had decent success doing the exact same thing.

like i said before: quarterbacks who "can't throw to save their life" aren't going to complete 68% of their passes. that just doesn't exist. is he a great passer? no. does he need to be? no. when a passing play is called, does he complete the play? 68% of the time he does, which is about as successful as you can get.
