Where is Dwight Freeney

Robert Mathis, DE opposite of Freeney, has 4.5. That may account for some of them. Freeney is seeing a lot of double-teams.

Also, teams are having a ton of success running the ball on the Colts this year. So they're not having to pass as much (only 190 pass attempts on their D this season).

Freeney basically runs up the field with a very fast outside rush now on just about every snap. He doesn't seem to have the same determination to get to the QB, although that is very hard to judge watching TV. He is very predictable and therefore easier to plan around.

He got his big pay day. I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

Freeney hasn't gotten his big contract yet. Reggie Wayne did this year, Harrison last year, Manning the year before and talk was part of letting Edge go was keeping money available to sign Freeney after this year.

I guess it doesn't have anything to do with it then. :hmmm:

This is kinda interesting. Naturally a player should play more determined before their big contract.

Maybe there is a big conspiracy that every team will double team him to the point where he finishes the season with less value and therefore becomes a cheaper commodity in the FA. Hmmmm....

I think we need Ihategeeks to dig deeper into this one.

Or teams realise he had more sacks over the last two season then anybody else and decided they didn't want to get their QB killed, as a result double teamed him? Also, Indy has haf very few blow-outs this season (Titans, Broncos, Jets, Jags, Giants all have been very close games), meaning less passing situations and less sacks.

Go home and hang yourself now...Thats the dumbest statement ive ever heard. Whose overrated on the 49ers? Oh wait noone expects anything out of any of them~

Like the Texans are so much better?

A) Freeney is terrible against the run

B) He struggles getting pressure against top notch teams, and his sacks come against crappy tackles

I remember he OWNED Jon Ogden. Then he was owned by Walter Jones. Then he dominated Orlando Pace. Then Chester Pitts shut him down.

Their interior D-line stinks, they lost Thornton and Bob Sanders has been hurt.

Without Thornton and the D-line stopping the run and Sanders flying around making plays, their D has become pretty easy to gameplan for. Double and triple Freeney and run. If Peyton has a bad day they will lose... Tennessee exposed them (sounds odd, doesn't it). I wouldn't be surprised to see Tennessee or Jacksonville beat 'em by controlling the game and running even more with their mobile QB's.

Guys like Freeney and Cato June are playmakers when surrounded by talent, but things get tough when they're weak up the middle. Freeney is still a beast, but he's in a bad situation right now. He's not going anywhere though.
