Thank you Mr Justice

ok..im as big a ut fan as i am a texan fan...and a huge vy guy. but seriously that article saying it was vinces heart that won the game for them. vince's heart had a punt return for a touchdown?..vince's heart forced five turnovers and consistently beat our o-line of the edges? seriously guys vince didnt win that game...he just played in it. i love vince and yes i think he will do great things but vince's heart didnt win that game.

Justice has been absolutely obnoxious lately, but I can't disagree with him on this one.

I do want to be right about Vince (because I'm stubborn), but I want to be wrong about David (because he's the one who plays for my team).

So far, I'm right about both. And it's not comforting at all.

didnt make it through the whole thing. Justice has earned a black mark from me from his offseason meddling.

I read to the point where he basicly said "Vince Young was going to win this game cause he wanted to" and stopped reading.

I know what comes next.. Carr didnt win it cause he doesnt have that special "something" that VY has, and didnt have the drive to manipulate fate and pull a win from his magical castle in the sky.

bullpucky.

Carr played a bad game.. and if he hadnt played a bad game, the Titans would have lost. The Titans won that game on turnovers, plain and simple.. and not a single one of those turnovers was due to the Titans "abilities"..and you can sure as hell bet that VY didnt "will" any of them to happen with his super "im special" powers.

Take away those mistakes and you will see that the Titans played a solid but unspectacular game. They didnt move the ball well most of the time, and if they hadnt started with such great field position, they wouldnt have scored most of thier points.

That article is ridiculous. VY was a part of the win, yes, but he didn't look great out there. In fact, except for his 1 long run and his 1 TD throw, he looked pretty awful. He looked rushed in the pocket and wasn't throwing accurate passes. The Texans beat themselves, plain and simple

I agree

if you strip off all the names on the players and you evaluate the day the titans qb had, it was below the nfl qb average. he's a rook and will continue to improve, but today he wasn't anything special.

True...but VY also wasn't the one that looked like a rookie QB today.:shoot:

I have to wonder with the O-Line play today if at some point Carr didn't say to himself "Oh, No... here we go again." I don't mean that to be an excuse... at the NFL level you have to suck it up, and Carr didn't do that today.
I agree with Justice on one thing, once you bench your QB for the first time, things can never be the same. But that could be a good thing... if there was ever any doubt Kubiak will put his best performers on the field I think that was answered today. Translation: "It's Kubicak's way or the highway."

I have to think that next week could very well be the crossroads in Carr's career. I really hope he will be stepping up... not packing his bags.

Justice has been right from the beginning. Not taking Vince was the worst decision this franchise ever made. Period.

Justice is romanticizing the attitude that VY brings to a team. That is all. I am a huge VY guy but now that he is on the Titans, he is enemy mine. When Mario dragged him down it was the best moment of the game.

However, anyone who says he didn't show anything today, is totally fooling themselves. The guy just wins football games. Period. End of story. Been that way since Pop Warner. That scramble for a touchdown was top drawer and he showed much promise in his passing game when he was given protection. Dude just has 'It'...its that easy. It's rough when I think about facing Manning and Young 2 times each every year for the next decade. Thank god Leftwich looks like he is a bust or we would be totally hosed.

I thought VY would struggle his first few years but he already looks to be grasping things game by game. He has far surpassed most realistic expectations for him in his first few games. Justice just takes it to another level in his fanboy love of VY. To Richard Justice, VY is like Jim Brown, John Wayne and Chuck Connor all rolled into one. Infallible. Invincible. I think the guy could develop into a top5 QB under the right system but I dont write sonnets in the Chronicle stating my undying love for him. We all leave that to Justice.

our team is is much better shape than the titans as far as rebuilding goes. and regardless to what we may hope for, this is most certainly a rebuilding year (or perhaps just 'building' is more appropriate). if kubes can draft even half as well next year as he did this year we'll be in the playoffs very soon.

im not sure what exactly justice is saying. wins are great but it was just one win. we played better ball for 95% of the game than the titans, it just happened that today that 5% resulted in a massive point swing. teams bounce back, from losses like the jags did this week. i'd rather have a solid looking football team that loses some game they should have won (under a new coach, coming off the #1 pick, with a different D scheme etc etc) than a team that needs the stars to align to stumble into a W.

Romaticizing is why we love sports. It's why we cheered like hell when Titus Pullo picked himself up after giving up on life and ran through about 15 gladiators. We cheer for winners. Winners not whiners. Winners, not pretty boys. Men, not boys. VY is a man. He's lived more in his 20 someodd short years than DC will live in a lifetime. VY is hungry. He's the 1st gen immigrant to David's union guy. He'll eat DC for breakfast here on out.

I'll take it one further. David Carr is the west point lieutenant who chokes under fire. He's the David Schwimmer character in Band of Brothers. That's him.
