God Update

Don't like piling on the guy... but I'll take Lundy, Mario and Moulds any day over Bush. He can't do it all... but he sure as heckfire should with what he's getting paid.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with the Saints the rest of the year. A lot of their success can be attributed to successfully using Bush as a decoy. I don't know how much longer that 2+ YPC is going to attract attention.

I'm still waiting to hear the first "expert" say that maybe they were wrong about him.

i watched this game- thought it was funny when it was announced at the start of the game
that vic fangio had been hired by the saints as a defensive consultant

result: saints D that has been playing well + a struggling ravens offence + vic fangio = ravens scoring 35 points LOL

I guess Bush haters aren't going to have to endore the commericials and ESPN man love for much longer

Hope you guys like Michael Vick though, he regained his status as Wonder Boy today

But but wait.. The Texans STILL could have used those 16 yards today.

I mean, forget about the fact that Lundy's had more 100 yard rushing games this season than Bush has, and Williams has given the Texans a forcefor opposing offensive lines to gameplan and double team against, but man, they SUREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE should have taken Bush.

:chicken:

Wasn't it great how Reggie "spiced things up" with an interception in the end zone after "dancing around the defenders"?

INCREDIBLE

it's amazing that in a year when rookies are playing great all across the board for just about every team, the top 2 picks are lagging behind a bit. interesting.

reggie bush isn't a threat outside at all. and he makes too many moves and isn't big enough to be too effective between the tackles. just put him at WR, that's what he is.

That's what we've been saying. He still would have been drafted in the top 5 if he came out as a WR.

I think Mario has been producing. More than Bush. He had a sack and four tackles yesterday.

-2 in fantasy football points.

Man, with my first 3 draft picks I drafted S. Alexander (hurt), L. Fitzgerald (hurt), and Reggie Bush.:crying:

Wow.

I mean, hey.....I would be mad too if I were a texan fan but the loss yesterday isn't on Bush. I would be interested in how many of you guys actually watched the game? On his fumble, the guy was on him almost at the same time he took the handoff......Ladanian Thomlinson doesn't hold it there..

The INT....well...that's on the coaches.....why the heck to you ask this 60 million dollar RB to go out and pass against the number 3 D in the league? Why the heck did we get Drew Brees?

It's karma guys.....all you haters who keep hatin' and wishing ill towards a team which you don't even play this season will get bitten in the azz by karmatic law.....(that's a joke)

I mean, everybody here complains about the Bush threads but they are ALWAYS started by a Texan fan.......you can keep Lundy because he is going to be like....hmmmmm.....Dominic Rhodes....a good change of pace guy but he will not carry your team.....for the record Bush won't either...(yet)...that's Deuces job now and our coaches better realize that trying to continiuously get the ball to Reggie even after he hurt his knee at Cleveland is incredibly short sighted.....I guess you guys didn't realize that he's been going out there on a gimpy knee and playing through the pain since the 1st game of the season....

Nah, ya'll wouldn't know anything about that.

Wow.

Wow.

If his knee is hurt he sure isnt helping it by jumping side to side on turf.

Then again, we all knew he was a east/west type player. Thats his game right there.

I dont think anyone hates the Saints, I think we hate teh HYPE MACHINE that keeps telling us how GREAT Bush is and how he is outplaying everyone else.

Well, Id rather have Lundy, I was a D Brick draft fan, but Mario is probably outplaying the first 4 picks (even though VY gets a win, he does not look great with a subpar 50% completition).

And to be fair with Reggie God....er Bush, its early to judge this rookie class. I just wish ESPN, NBC, and any other Football program would have not judged this group before the draft.

No hate, but if your 60m back is playing on a bad knee, shouldn't he..... rest?

If the knee is good enough for him to play, it is good enough to not be held accountable for Bush's progress.

I think you can make a case that Mario has been producing more then any of the other top 4 picks, especially when you consider we were the worst team last year while the Jets and Saints had winning records the year before they went down the tubes. Leading the team in sacks with 3.5 and having a meaningful impact on an obviously improving D. VY has lead the Titans to 2 wins, but you cant honestly say he was the main reason as Henry ran for 178 in one and we gave up 5 turnovers and 2 non-offensive TD's in the other. Reggie's troubles are documented and D'Brick has given up a few sacks. All in all, Im still hapy with our draft.

Ultimately, all players have pros and cons.

The cons of special athletes that are outside the NFL mold, like Bush and VY, is that the best way of using them is to radically change your offense to take advantage of their gifts.

This can work out nicely for you if the player is playing well and not hurt, but if they get hurt you are screwed. Feast or famine.

Mike Vick is that way. Nice upside, but if he gets dinged, you run the risk of derailing your team. It is hard to build for the long run to have an offense that is focused on the abilities of one player instead of having a system that can work with multiple players in different positions.

No need to hate on Bush or take joy in someone else's pain. Not cool and karmic trouble.

Nah, ya'll wouldn't know anything about that.

We all would know about that because we all haters knew that the little guy wasn't the massive physical specimen that ESPN boosted him up to be.

I understand the winds blew pretty hard in NO, but have they blown away any criticism at all of the stonecold mortal lock of the century in RB? NO ONE in the mainstream has said boo about his lack of production. Joseph Addai, Laurence Maroney, Maurice Jones-Drew, DeAngelo Williams and the list goes on of rookie running backs that are FAR surpassing RB. ESPN ran highlights of his four yard receptions for a month. Yet at every turn, people take shots at the Texans, their management and the frustrations of their fans over not taking Bush or VYoung. As this is a Texan message board, it would be our opportunity to vent those frustrations and perhaps educate one or two New Orleans fans. I'm sorry... education in Louisiana? My bad.... :redtowel:

One of two things is true--the Saints are lying about Bush's injury or they are stupid. By rule, if players miss practice they have to be on the injury report. If Bush has had an ankle injury he should have been missing practice time to let it heal or the Saints are stupid. If they ain't stupid...

*Offensive Rookie of the Year -- Patriots RB Laurence Maroney : With all due respect to Reggie Bush, Laurence Maroney has been and will be the most impressive rookie running back. He is leading the NFL in kickoff return average, has demonstrated more speed than any big man should possess, and looks as if he will grab the Rookie of the Year."

Why does the media think that the rookie of the year HAS to be a running back?

Does that just handicap it so Bush has a better chance?

ESPN didn't botch that; he was drafted to be a TE.

No some draftniks thought he was going to get moved to TE. The Saints may have entertained that thought if he didn't work out at WR but they had him playing WR in practice and he shined there to make the team.

All I know is he's the best FFL "tight end" I've ever had. A big thanks to whoever screwed up.
