QB benched:should have been done in 2002

Wolf

100% Texan
hate to not have a Carr bashing here, but no beating around the bush.. Carr didn't play well. I blame Capers on this. 2002 and on when Carr played badly, we didn't bench him. why not? Until today (not counting the one drive with the Cowboys), Carr had not seen the Texan gameday offense under anyone else.. I am glad Sage went in. I hope when they go over the film, Carr gets the different perspective that he needs on the read of the defense..

Good thoughts. Its like whipping a dog after he chews up your shoes. Call him out.

Can't blame Capers for fumbling the ball...Carr sucks plain and simple....it's his fault that we lost today.

yeah, I mean Carr seems to do the underneith stuff and doesn't find the seams.. now was the Titans playing a different defense? not sure.. but there is some lesson to learn here ..Carr gets to see an offense that does right (ON FILM) not where the coach says you should have done this or done that.. we actually get to see it.. that is something Carr needed 4 years ago.

booksmart just doesn't do it.

Instead of winning for us, he lost the game for us....yes, Carr's to blame. He has an adverse effect on games....SAGE FOR QB!!!

seriously, we loss today because of Carr...the running game and defense were there, but Carr's boneheaded TO's killed us...that is why we loss.....I've been fair to David thus far this season, and I've even stood up for him in some instances, but today he WAS the reason why we loss.

Carr has dropped his delivery to pure sidearm, he has no footwork AT ALL in the pocket, he has NEVER been able to read a defense in a calm manner, he runs a 4.6 but does NOT KNOW when to run, he takes sacks that put us out of FG range, he fumbles the ball almost every single game, he has no composure at QB, and he has NO IDEA......

...no idea WHAT HE WANTS TO ACCOMPLISH - what he wants to do. He just tries to complete the play not disect the defense. He has all the physical tools but simply lacks the mental tools to continue to be the starter. He's had 5 years - time to move.

I'm a Republican but I can still see that things in Iraq aren't working as well as they should be. It's like our policy there - I just think that maybe we should look at other options. Not wrong - not right....it just feels 'off' having him in there.

Mark this down as the first time I've agreed with a republican in my lifetime.

Watching Sage in the pocket was like night-and-day from watching Carr. It's not a coincidence that Carr was sacked 4 times in the first half while Sage wasn't sacked at all. Sage has more pocket-presence and seems to be able to read the field better without bailing out of the play.

I think either Sage should get a start to show that his performance today was not a fluke, or Carr should be on a REALLY short leash. Sage showed that he can make plays for an offense, he isn't just a game managing QB who needs to lean on a stout defense. I think he deserves a chance to start.

guys..............Carr faced man coverage while Sage faced zone all second half................we put no pressure on because the game was over............we were up 18 points in the 4th Q................this game was on your OL and Carr truthfully................they blocked no one today.

Nah, you guys we not up 18 points. Sage scored a TD in the 3rd, which brought it down to 12. The Pacman returned the punt for a TD. Then, we caught up and was at 22 points, only four behind. It was actually a exciting game at the end, but we just couldn't keep our legs moving.

The offensive line, Ephraim "Come Right In While I Bend Over and Grab My Ankles" Saalam in particular and David Carr's inability to sense pressure are the reasons our sorry Texans can't beat the pathetic Titans.

It's the race to the cellar!!!!! Who will end up on bottom?:bananasplit:

28-10 is 18 points ahead.................

I got a question..............say we both finish with the same record.............who will the Texans pick? A QB or a LT like JThomas?

That's a gimme. A defensive lineman with great combine numbers.

Saalam needs to wait to grab his ankles till after the snap, too many false starts on him today.

I think that if Carr had been forced to compete for his job during the Capers era, the team would have had a much better clue as to whether to pick up his option this past winter.
