Hahaha how is this for draft explanations

gtexan02

Working?
We dont' want RB because we already have a great back in DD! (Probably out for his career now).

We don't want VY because we already have a great QB in DC (Who was just benched for Sage...)

I like MW a lot, and please don't turn this into a bash MW or anything thread. I just find it funny that our FO has its head so far up its own....you get the idea....that all the reasons they give for passing on players are invalid already

We didn't want Reggie Bush because we have an All-Pro WR in Andre Johnson and an All-Pro KR in Jerome Mathis. We got a decent RB in the draft for a lot less money than the All-Pro Decoy would have cost.

yeah bush had 1 fumble 1 INT(YES I said 1 INT).. 5 rushes 16yards NO TD ..4 receptions for 5 yards.

yeah bush made an impact today..

oh wait he got benched for sage :yikes: :brickwall

You are the one that needs an easy button.

If you are SOOO unhappy with our team, then go away. You have a choice.

I would hate to be your kid. One strike and your out. Go live in your room for the rest of your life. Please.....

Nice spin but Kubiak said he wants to rebuild this team from the lines out. That is why our first 5 picks were linemen and that is why we didn't draft a RB or QB in the first.

well..my other post seems to have been deleated.. so ill repeat myself.

Reader's Digest Version:

Lundy looks better than Bush, DC before this performance has been 10x the QB that Young is.

Instead of whining and being a bad fan, take some pride in the fact that we drafted MW, Meco, Daniels, and Lundy.. and all 4 look like they will be big contributors.

Then I capped it off by pointing out that the only person that "has its head so far up its own....you get the idea...." is you.

Maybe all you haters need to take a step back and look at the draft as a whole:

Mario Williams (should be a senior in college, give him time)
Demeco Ryans (def rookie of year)
Chester Spencer (was on his way to be big time player before Inj)
Eric Winston (once first round projection, still quality depth..room to grow)
Owen Daniels (today says it all on this kid)
Eric Moulds (traded pick for this guy.... has opened up AJ)
Wali Lundy (here is our MAN in the Denver scheme)

Than is ONE HECK OF A DRAFT!

Have trouble with how anyone would argue with our draft...

Usually it takes a few years to grade the true value of a particular year. Save for the Spencer injury, and we already have seen what he is capable of. To get impacts like we have out of our rookies, regardless of how bad some feel we are, is special.

If it were not for turnovers we would of won.

Bush got hurt today
Young would have lost this game today

I say when its our time to play let the ball stay in our hands:brickwall

VERY WELL PUT. Do folks forget that our Defense gave up TWO 200 yard rushing games last year? Bush was going to help that how?

some of u people still cant accept the fact that the mw pick was WRONG.

Our defense has given up 3 TD's in the last two games. Averaging 11.5 points against, ohh, and about 200 yards a game. Is that all Mario, no, but this is a far more producitve unit then we have seen in the last two seasons, and he is big part of that.

We are still not over this? In this draft, we have 5 legitimate starters (one of them on IR) that art starting right now. I'd say that's a damn good draft. Looking back, sticking with Carr is still the right decision. We're trying to build a team here, not some QB that we can all idolize.

Jeez there are a lot of people with chips on their shoulder. Heres a phrase for you, LEARN TO READ.

Now then, this thread was NOT supposed to be:
1. MW is bad thread
2. RB is God thread
3. VY is God thread
4. The Texans were stupid for passing over them thread

If you'll read it again, you will clearly see that the intent of the thread was to say that, at the time of the draft, the FO clearly had no idea about the state of the team. Do I think we made the right pick? At this point hell yes. Looking at Bush getting stuffed left and right and watching VY underthrow his receivers all day is not getting me excited. But, if any of you could take a second to understand the purpose of the post before leaping onto your soapbox in a hero of the messageboard, "I want to be the first to prove I'm a REAL fan!" manner you'd realize this was meant to imply that it was the mindset at the DRAFT that I'm commenting on.

I was saying I thought it was funny that the reasons our FO gave for passing on who, AT THE TIME OF THE DRAFT, were considered to be the consensus number 1 picks (Read it again, I'm not saying that they are doing better now), were things they obviously didn't have a clue about. If your starting running back has a possibly career ending injury, and you have to bench your starting QB at halftime against the Titans, maybe those positions aren't as solid as they lead us to believe.

Now I'm not going to read this thread anymore because of the replies it'll probably get, so feel free to close it.

The only thing of interest here would be quoting those of you who have clearly been jaded by the Texans, its fans, and the crazy messageboard world we live in.

Still contemplating the value of this thread....

Summary:

We should took Bush or Young.

Bush is a kick returner. We shoulda took Young.

Grow up.

No, you grow up.

No, you grow up.

no, you grow up.

What's the value of this thread?

Summary, and yes I need to grow up. :)

The top two consensus picks were Bush and Williams. Our defense stunk last year and we spent our first two picks on defense. Our defense is showing rapid improvement. Still contemplating the value of this thread.....

I'll go back to what I said THE DAY BEFORE THEY GAVE DAVID HIS EXTENSION:

They should take Young, mainly just to make the fans happy and steal many of them from the Cowboys (and avoid all this complaining).

The top two consensus picks were Bush and Williams.

Williams wasn't mentioned as a possible consensus number one here on the Texans radar until fairly late in the draft process. All the debate and talk from the head people was that it was them looking at Bush and Young. I don't even remember hearing about them working out Williams, but I sure remember the back to back visits of Bush and Young.

Again I'm not questioning the pick and I'm not questioning the results of it. At this point in the year, I'd take MW over both Bush and Young. Nevermind...

I agree with this, also our 7th rd pick Mr. Anderson did well on special teams, I think this gut is a keeper for the future! We need to give Coach K props for a terrific draft, unlike the Riverboat Gambler! He's trying to undo the mess that C&C created!:yikes:
