Interesting to say the least. I know that right now none of us expect too much of the Texans.... but what if they came back and did exactly what they needed to do to win?

In my mind there is a small but growing chance that the Texans split the 8-8 this year. We can do this....

I like what the Jets did in the draft taking Mangold and Ferguson in the first round since they seem to be as advertised. This is a very physical game and if you can't in in the trenches it is hard to win on the scoreboard.
 
Flip-flopping their record from basement to high-caliber team in two years is a definite likelihood for the Texans, and seems common in the modern age of completely replacing programs the way the Texans did. The main prescription is time to learn the new system.

Winning games will do that. And Dallas and Atlanta prove that a team have to have great blocking no matter what QB.

I'm eager to see this Texans/Titans game. If we could pull this out it would go a long way for the "health" of the team.
 
Anything is possible (12-4?*)...but I will not measure probability until I see how consistent this team can be when they play the Titans.

Your right DB. Consistency is the key. If we could play as good or better as we did against the jags AND bring that level of play into the 3rd quarter then this team would begin to win a lot of ballgames.

We are seeing eye to eye about this.

Winning two of our last 3 gives hope but good teams take care of the teams they are supposed to.

So far, they have. OK, they lost against the Skins, but they also beat the Jags. They were supposed to beat the Dolphins (even if we weren't sure at the time) and they did. I am cautiously optimistic at the moment, while recognizing that we still don't have a stalwart running game. A record of 6-10 should be a reasonable expectation, IMO. Anything more is gravy.

I totally agree, but I think the Texans did some of the same by taking a DE and two OT's in the first 66 picks of the draft. Tack on a MLB that could win DROY honors, a TE that looks like the real deal, and a RB that is currently starting for us, and this draft has the potential of being the foundation of our team for years to come.

Wow!!! Didn't know that however I am so glad because I want something to humble us so that we don't go in overconfident. Like Dunta said I want people to overlook us.

The next draft I would put serious thought into drafting the top Left Tackle available to the Texans with their 1st pick like Penn States Levi Brown than coming right back (moving up if needed) to aquire DT help like Marios running mate back @ NCST DeMarcus Tyler. Focus on the trenches & address other needs via free agency or mid-late round picks.

Im with these guys.....I say we go OL or Defense in the first....

All of this is speculation until the end of the season. If this team starts to click and our offensive line is able to continue to handle the pass rush (what have we only given up like 16 sacks in 6 games so far?? AMAZING!), the only question will be about our running game. Kubiak will address what needs to be addressed... and if our running game does like it did against the Jags for the rest of the year.... I doubt that it will be a #1 concern. I would (still) look for a defensive pick in the first round next year.....

Football Outsiders says that the schedule that the Texans have played to date is the 4th hardest. The schedule that they play in the future is the 32nd hardest. Though their SOS stats use their rankings but also doesn't look at whether a game is home or on the road.

Texans are one of the few teams right now that doesn't have any soap operas going on. No coaching or QB controversy. No drug or prison issues. No throw me the damn ball kinda guys (didja notice how after AJs big catch, Mould and AJ ended up running off the field together).

KNOCK ON WOOD.

An easier schedule plus a bunch of good team guys hungry for wins could lead to a better second half. There some thinish talent at positions, but given the turmoil on a lot of teams right now, and how many teams have two wins or less, you just never know.

I have no earthly idea what is going to happen this next game. The Titans are a weird team. Blowouts either way or a close game--nothing would surprise me. Sure would be great to string another win on.

No doubt about it, Kubiak & Co had a tremendous Draft, best the Texans have had to date. Here it is mid-season with the game Sunday in Nashville,
and we will be starting 4 rookies and almost surely 5 had Spencer's injury not
knocked him out for the year. And then you could factor in the 5th round pick we used to pick up Moulds, and its even more impressive. Guess the only
question mark is Winston ?
