Texan Fans crack on Cowboy fans here

Texans Rising
It is finally here. The Houston Texans vs. the dallas cowboys.

Awww yeah, our beloved Texans have another shot at "america's team". that term alone ticks me off but ill get to my hatred of all things dallas later. It is the Texans chance to shut up cowboy fan for another four years. I am running a little low on credibility by holding the 19-10 victory over them. We need some new ammo to shut the ever so obnoxious cowboy fan up. i hope this place can give me a chance to vent some hatred that i have for most cowboy fans. Disclaimer: If you live in dallas this is not directed at you(for the most part) it is directed at the frontrunning, bandwagon jumping cowboy fan. ( which is most of the, yes some live in dallas)

Texans fans now is the time to lay into them. Be nice and not too rude(this is a censored site follow rules) Do not use big words after all they are cowboy fans.

How about:

"Oh yeah, David Carr takes more sacks in a half than you have Superbowl rings."

That'll shut 'em up.

Top Ten reasons to dislike cowboy fan.

!0.They yell "how bout them Cowbys" non stop when they win(when they loose they develope laryngitis)
9. They are called "America's Team" ( with all the drug convictions couldnt they be called "America's most wanted")
8. They tell us theyve been fans since they were 1-15. ( but the only player they can name from that team is Troy Aikman)
7.When cowboys are having a loosing season they wear another teams' jersey and the star on the back of their pickup truck is peeled off and replace with the logo of whoever won the superbowl.
6. The never ending cowboy coverage on local news. The sportscasters are homers for the boys (even in san antonio, and houston)
5. Tom Landry was fired. (Hey Pope, your job isnt safe if they fire him.)
4. Jerry Jones voted against San Antonio having a team. ( when they showed they could supprt an NFL team guess who moved practics to SA)
3. Jerry Jones.(Skeltor)
2. Mark Cuban ( Jerry Jones in the making)
!. JERRY JONES

one question texans fans....

is this your only non-district game this season?
i could have sworn 3A teams get more than that.
just curious.

The Cowboys have 5 NFL Championship rings and eight appearances in the Superbowl (1 out of 5).

We have....19-10.

Even though I dislike the Cowboys, I don't think we've got a lot to crow about. It's an extreme long shot for us to win this weekend.

I just don't see it is an extreme long shot. Especially if we play good D -- meaning if Richard Smith calls the game like he did against Miami, which admittedly yes, was a weaker team, but his calling was much more spot on -- then I think we can hang with the Cowgirls and the game will go to the fourth quarter. Bledsoe is trash when hurried and if Lewis Sanders continues to get his hands on 3-4 balls a game, well, the law of averages says he's due to actually rip a few this time around. Once I get over my terror at the prospect of Lewis Sanders having to cover either T.O. or Glenn, I really like our chances.

IMO our biggest question mark heading into this game is whether or not we'll actually field a running threat this week. We absolutely have to establish success early into the game or Carr is going to start finding it harder and harder to get the newfound pass attack going.

i believe you have a decent shot because our qb sux!! our stupid coach had a menagetrois with bledsoe and vinny intercepti. and he has a really hard time letting each one of them go.

Classic turnover game IMO. Roll the turnovers to +2 and we have a shot, otherwise smart money is on the Cowboys. Sanders needs to be working with the Juggs machine for all the INT's he has dropped this year.

Does Houston even have a pass-rush? Even if you get off some sort of rush by some miracle, are you going to win? Look at the Eagles and Jacksonville.. they were succesful in pressuring Drew but the game still goes down to the wire.

The Cowboys o-line was doing fine before yesterday.. implementing more blitzes against Dallas will do nothing but get Terrell Owens, Terry Glenn, and Jason Witten open against Sanders and Robinson.. I couldn't say that with a straight face.. Julius Jones is just now hitting his stride (2 100 plus games and 94 yarder), the defense will fired up against a weak RB corp and a sack machine David Carr.

You guys are terrible and falling a part, just like many predicted.

19-10

AND its only going to get worse!

I just don't see it is an extreme long shot. Especially if we play good D --

What....? :um:

Have you paid attention at all during our first four games? Our defense is horrible, and no amount of hoping is going to magically turn them around during a bye week. Richard Smith is a bust, IMO.

We've got no pass rush, so irregardless of QB, they have to shoot themselves in the foot to give us a chance. If any QB - much less a veteran with weapons like TO and Glenn - are given the time we allow, he'll have a good game.

And let's not talk about stopping the run. Jones will probably walk all over us on Sunday.

The 'hope' we have is that Dallas comes out flat. If they hit the field with a thirst for vengeance after losing to Philly, our team won't have the attitude to go toe to toe with them. We just don't have the talent right now. We need them to play down to our level, because nothing I've seen in our first four games leads me to believe that we'll be able to rise to their level.

The Texans defeat of the Cowboys in their inagural season is the only high point in you guys existence. I can't blame you for holding on to it like it was the Super Bowl, because for you guys, it was. It's still quite sad you hold on to a victory over a 5-11, Dave Campo led team as a security.

No, beating the SB losing Panthers and taking the SB winning Pats to overtime were much better high points than beating the Cowboys' piddly 5-11 team--but hey, it was a heck of a fun 1st game.

Owens is becoming so overrated it aint even funny. Why doesn't anyone talk about Harrison or Holt as the best receivers, seriously. I loved that pass he dropped yesterday because he didn't want to be lit up. the guy hasn't done anything, but run his mouth for the past 2 years. Andre Johnson is what Owens once was, but without the headache. Owens isn't even the best receiver on his team.....

I like our chances, our WRs aren't bums and Carr is growing every week under Kubiak.

In my opinion the game will come down to Dunta's performance, he needs to step up and prove he's a top young corner, because at this point he's becomming overrated and it pains me to say that. The wild card in this game will be Mario, he won the Miami game with that tipped pass and if he can get after "Deadslow" he can cause alot of havoc. On the other side Ware scares the hell out of me, that guy is a beast, I fear him alot more than TO

Dont get mad at us cause you guys are terrible, bet we strollin into the big hole in the earth you guys call a stadium and beat you like you stole something. 28-17 and TO and your WR coach get into it again.

So how come in the three years I've been on this forum, I have never heard absolutely anything about that particular game? When I've heard countless, countless of times about "19-10"?

Amazing it is one of those extremely rare Cowboy fan with common sense about football. (Is as rare as winning the lotto.....twice).

I don't know....umm...maybe it has something to do with the fact that your a cowboy fan, with a cowboy avatar. So when you post on this board your probably going to hear that alot. We've only played your team once and the score was 19-10,

He had a bad game. Like Andre Johnson did so many times last year. It happens to the best of them.. he was double covered by a solid Philly secondary with a tender hand. I'm not using it as an excuse, but give the guy a break before you call him overrated.

How are we terrible? We lost to 4-1 Eagle team yesterday in a hard-fought match.

The fact that you like your moral victory tells me something.
We have nothing to lose, YOU GUYS got everything to lose.............If you win we walk away and we are just that expantion team.......BUT if we win you will have gotten beaten not once but twice by an expantion team you should have beat, thats embarrasing.:logo: :logo: :logo:

and the fact that you have this guy
s_palmer_i.jpg
coaching your QB, I feel pretty good about our chances.

What....? :um:

LOL dude, our defense was actually decent against the Dolphins. We actually ran blitzes, varied the playcalling, and IMO there just isn't much practical difference between Culpepper and Bledsoe. Both look great with time and suck without it. If we see that kind of playcalling and energy from our D, then we have a good chance. If we see pre-Miami playcalling, we will get absolutely smoked.

I'm trying not to label Smith a bust even though I was calling for his head after Washington, just because I've seen what he did against Miami and hope that it will become his new rule, and not a one-time exception.

We've done okay in streaks against good RBs and I don't think Julius Jones is all that. The Cowboys O-line isn't the caliber of those we faced in our first 3 games, and if we can build on the positive changes we saw against Miami, then I think we stand a very good chance.

Either way I expect we'll give up the run more than we will the pass and if Smith is aggressive then we could easily be looking at another 5-turnover game from Bledsoe. Produce points on a few of those TOs and we'll be right there with them.

And finally yes, we probably need them to play down to us a little bit. On paper the Cowboys should win this one, but it's just my observation that we have it in us to pull this one off, if we do what we're supposed to do.

Johnson struggled with injuries last year on a offensively inept team.

Owens had a MVP caliber QB throwing him the ball, but threw all that away, because he couldn't share the spotlight. Owens is overrated not because of the game yesterday, but because I can't turn on my TV without hearing his name or seeing his face. When players like Harrison and Holt go on year after year putting up the better #s and quietly going on about their business, but I never hear anything about them.

Owens is hype and overrated, he needs to shut his mouth and let his play speak for him, his alter ego "TO" is nothing, but a huge distraction and its killing his career

In order to earn the label "bust", shouldn't he have had to do something in previous years? What has this guy done in the past? Anything impressive? Or is he just a bandaid for the Texans due to no one else being available?:hides:

Have I mentioned lately, its been over a decade since the Cowboys last won a playoff game? Yet, Cowboy fans still are delusional about their team being a powerhouse! Correct me if I'me wrong, but haven't the Arizona Cardinals won a playoff game more recently than the Cowboys? Oh by the way, the team they beat, the Cowboys.

One thing I learned from years as an Oiler fan. You talk smack while you can because it ain't gonna last. 19-10 still has a shelf life of another week, so.....

19 - 10 :wild:

Speaking of the Arizona Cardinals, can you believe they have had exactly ONE winning season in the last twenty one years? Man I sure hope our Texans can do better than that. Poor Cardinal fans, and believe it or not, there are some out there!

He had a bad game. Like Andre Johnson did so many times last year. It happens to the best of them.. he was double covered by a solid Philly secondary with a tender hand. I'm not using it as an excuse, but give the guy a break before you call him overrated.

Thats a crock. The Eagles occasionally doubled O, but for the most part they didnt have to. You see, he developed alligator arms. And, to compare that pathetic performance to Andre's season last year is ludicrous. The Cowgurls are supposed to have all of these weapons, and obviously we had no one around Andre last year.

It's also funny how Cowgurl fans accuse Texans fans of "living in the past", but whenever you try to have a "real" football discussion with any of them, the first thing they do is bring up the past. Considering our past is only 4+ seasons, I think its pretty apparent who lives in the past....... I agree with another poster earlier in this thread, that the win against the panthers and th OT against New England were better games for us, but then again, I have enjoyed leaving that bad taste in Cowgurls mouth for four years. The really funny part, is I remember talking to Cowgurls fans right before the beauty of game 9/8/2002, and they were hyping the draft choice of Roy Williams, the pick-up in the off-season of L'Roi Glover and how Emmit was going to destroy Walter Payton's rushing record that year. (the only accomplishment was Emmits).

You got what you deserved yesterday - a punch in the mouth, from dare I say a short-handed Eagles squad.

Speaking of Roy Williams, that guy is a horrible safety...yes he will knock the absolute **** out of you, but he is a liability in coverage. Do yall realize Mcnabb avg. about 20 yards a pass in that game, that is unreal.

The eagles are the class of that division, I called it after the very first week and even predicted him winning the MVP, which he will

http://forums.houstontexans.com/showthread.php?p=435846#post435846

The Eagles won yesterday, because they are better than the Cowboys at almost every position. I still don't know why everybody was thinking they were just going to fall off.

who do they Cincinnati Bengals think they are? The Dallas Cowboys?

Troy Aikman is the career leader in concussions...

Why is there a hole in the roof of Texas Stadium? So god can watch his team SUCK!

Eh.. sorry to use a cliche.. but "Any given sunday".

There was absolutely no reason that the Colts vs. Tennessee game should have been a nailbiter with the Colts only getting the win by 1 point on a touchdown they scored in the 4th quarter. But it happened.

We have had an extra week to prepare for this game and I think Kubiak is the type of coach who will use that to his advantage.

Quick! - without looking it up - name the scores from those two games! :superman:

Of course I hope you're right (about your entire post).

But I saw our D almost give up an 11 point lead in the 4th qtr in that game. By the grace of Mario's fingers we prevented that agony.

I think our win was as much due to Miami's incompetence as our ability to play football for four quarters.

I feel alright about our offense...by alright I mean passing offense, of course. I think we can score against just bout anybody (not ready for a shoot out or two minute drill, though).

I'm just skeptical about our D, and more importantly, our D-coordinator's ability to plan and call a complete game (much less make adjustments). I want to believe, but I need some more evidence to buy into it. Let's see consistency, and let's see some form of domination at any point in a game.

That's one of the bigger flaws in TO's game. If you get physical with him at the line, he'll develop those alligator arms throughout the game. I'm not saying this as an Eagles fan/TO hater either, I saw it during his time here too. He tries to use his size and power (which he DOES have) to his advantage, we didn't let him do that, so he heard footsteps throughout the game and it threw his game off.

That dropped pass, which he should've caught, came about because Lewis was about to light him up is a perfect example of that.

Listening to Irvin whine about everybody picking on his boyfriend on the monday night pregame show is priceless...... Someone needs to tell him to turn down the love for TO on national TV and keep those feeling behind closed doors.......BROKEBACK DALLAS

Hey Eagles fan, congrats on the win yesterday. Your team played great, I really enjoyed watching the game. O.D!!....O.D.!!, O.D!!....O.DDDDDD.!!! classic. :)

For the past two years I have been calling him "Oh-No Bledsoe". Cause everytime he drops back it makes you want to say Oh-No.

I know exactly how you feel. With this offensive line I've done the same exact thing. Oh-no Bledsoe, could be Oh-crap Carr. :redtowel:

How are we terrible? We lost to 4-1 Eagle team yesterday in a hard-fought match.
You lost to the eagles by 14 points, whats 24 minus 10 again?

He had a bad game. Like Andre Johnson did so many times last year. It happens to the best of them.. he was double covered by a solid Philly secondary with a tender hand. I'm not using it as an excuse, but give the guy a break before you call him overrated.

Guess you were proud of the guy, especially with all the tv shots of him pacing the bench area, mouthing off/pouting like a little kid at his coaches and anyone else in earshot. Reminiscent of his days with the eggles.

"T.O. SAYS: "WHY THE F--K AM I HERE?"

"Howard Eskin of WIP radio and NBC 10 in Philly reports, by way of Tom Curran of NBCSports.com, that Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens entered the Dallas locker room after the team's 38-24 loss to the Eagles and yelled, "Why did you guys bring me here? Why the f--k am I here?"

Owens had only three catches for 45 yards. Unofficially, 11 balls were thrown his way, he dropped three, and two were intercepted."

The fact that the Cowboys didn't showcase Owens in his return to Philly could be interpreted as a not-so-subtle message from coach Bill Parcells to Owens and, indirectly, to owner Jerry Jones that, as long as the whistle still dangles from the Tuna's cleavage, he's the guy who's calling the shots on game day.

For us, the move conjures memories of former Cowboys running back Eddie George, who was signed by Jones without Parcells' involvement, and who then languished on the bench for most of his one year in Big D.

It's no secret in league circles that Parcells didn't want Owens. And we continue to hear that, indeed, Parcells wanted to cut him in early September. Though some naysayers have dismissed our report by pointing to Owens' "$15 million" signing bonus, he received only $5 million up front. Cutting him would have actually created $5 million in 2006 cap space, and would have triggered a mere $3.33 million in dead money for 2007.

Besides, Parcells is notorious for picking his roster irrespective (or, as Bill Maas would say, irregardless) of pedigree.

Sure, Owens drew double coverage from time to time on Sunday, which opened up the field for other guys. But T.O. didn't come to town to be a high-priced decoy; he wants to be a (the) "star among stars."

So the Eagles won Round One with Owens. Whether he's even on the roster for the return match on Christmas Day in Dallas is, at this point, an open question."

The article was accompanied with a photo of owens sitting on the bench, head bowed, eating a big box of popcorn. ( photo was edited for effect)

The popcorn was ready but the show never started.

The guy is an absolute head case.

Thanks a lot. I decided to stick around here after "Eagles Week" because even though I talked some crap, I have to admit a soft spot for the Texans. :P Kinda like an AFC team for me.
I know how you feel. It seems like every year, I adopt a few NFC teams to root for. Usually a team that isn't too dominate but has a decent chance to win.

Last year I pulled for the Giants and Bears. This year I am rooting for the Eagles and Panthers. Part of me has a soft spot for the Saints but the Media tends to rub them in our face too much, really a shame.

I usually pick a team from each conference.

In the AFC I'm rooting for the Ravens, because I always like him, but couldn't root for him as a Titan, I would love to see him get a ring.

I'm rooting for the Eagles in the NFC, because I like the way Mcnabb plays and it would stick it to the cowboys and TO and every media person that jumped on the boys bandwagon. Admittedly I also have a soft spot for the Bears, I love defense and they are a joy to watch

Ok everyone let's get back on topic.

I hate the cowboys so much that their loss yesterday is worth our first two losses this year.

The best day of my life outside of personal family stuff was the win that bears my screename. I was lucky enough to be there and remember it like yesterday. Cowboy fan you are the lowest common denominator - the fact that you'd embrace T.O. is a clear sign that you are as delusional as he is.

I truly hope for embarrassment and/or injury on the home side of the field sunday.

19-10 would taste pretty good again. Moulds and AJ in the endzone, a Mario sack for safety and throw in a field goal for good measure.

And the rest of you that root for them without even living there???? Even worse - get a life band wagon losers

We're America's Team, so yes, alot of other fans not from Texas root for the Cowboys. I don't know why that's such a hard term to grasp.. The Cowboy's are the most popular team in the NFL, along with that comes being the most hated. I happily accept this. If these so-called "bandwagon" fans are still cowboys despite being the butt of every rival's forum, three straight 5-11 seasons, and one playoff victory in 10 years-- then let em' in! There's more room back here.

And aren't there several out of state Texan fans here if I'm not mistaken?

Give me a break. People choose to become fans of teams because they like them. The Cowboys really can't help that alot of people feel that way toward us.

Give me a break. People choose to become fans of teams because they like them. The Cowboys really can't help that alot of people feel that way toward us.

actually if you want to get down to it. the Cowboys aren't america's team, they just grasp on to that claim. ratings/earnings/fan following show the Steelers are america's team. The cowboys haven't been "america's team" in years. Blame the salary cap, ever since that era the following and profit has fallen dramatically, (as has the results in their wins), thats the reason why Jones doesn't want San Antonio to have a team, because 1 1/2 years ago they passed Dallas as a bigger market. Once Houston becomes a winner, they will pass Dallas

Sorry, but with the salary cap, comes mediocrity...

Dallas isn't America's team

The Bandwagoneers just shift to whoever's winning at the time, it was the Pats, it was the Steelers, it will be however feilds the next dominant team.

Out here is SoCal the bars are full of Steeler fans. Most of the Cowboy fans I have meet know very little about the team. Also I have met several people that wear a cowboy shirt or hat and don't even realize it is a football team. They got it as a gift or in the case of this guy I met this weekend, he thought it was the Logo for a shoe company like Nike or Reebok. LOL it was kind of funny. "How about then Reeboks!"
