I just watched some highlights of this guy on YouTube, and it was unbelievable. I think he is atleast as good as Reggie Bush and he looks taller with a long lean build. He has just blazing speed. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was like someone had Fast Forward on him while everyone else was moving at normal speed. Has there been any talk of this guy coming out of college early?
 
Im sure he will come out this year. No doubt.

Are you hoping for him to be a Texan? I still think we need defensive help. Safety, and OLB are problems IMO.

ginn is still extremely raw. just a speed guy at this point, in terms of NFL projection.

I want Ginn to stay another year so that we can say he's just Moulds' replacement...like that's gonna happen...

joe thomas is better than d'brickashaw ferguson. if you get the chance, you take him, i don't care what team you are. unless of course you have a shot at brady quinn or calvin johnson, MAYBE. other than, you take thomas, period.

one of the reasons i almost kinda hope miami keeps playing the way we are.

He's a slimmer Devin Hester. I dunno about him in the NFL as a WR. At 170 pounds, he'd get killed by a Sean Taylor. He needs to be a cb IMO, like a Samari Rolle type....

I dont think he can add very much. He has a small frame. Listed at 170, but i would'nt be surprised if he's really 160-165..:wild:

No No NEVER DO THIS. That's what defines him as a player. I would give Calvin Johnson the nod over Ted Ginn Jr. but in my opinion, you can't really go wrong with either guys. It just depends on what you need. I wouldn'tt mind having a fast slot guy to take passes the distance on the Texans, but maybe that's what Mathis is. Calvin Johnson looks alot like Andre Johnson did in college, maybe even better.
 
andre johnson is definitely faster than calvin johnson. he was more of a deep burner than calvin. say what you want about calvin johnson having 4.3 speed or whatever, but he's still used primarily as a possession receiver. calvin has better hands without a doubt, and fights for the ball much better. overall, calvin is the better prospect. and i thought andre johnson was the #1 player in that draft. but i tend to think that about most guys from the U.

You thought he was a better prospect that Carson Palmer?

Also, Charles Rogers was just as good of a prospect but had much better hands. He failed for a few reasons, most notably detroit, injuries, drugs, and apathy.
 
But back to the topic at hand.

Ginn Jr. is nothing to be excited about if you are a Texans fan. He is a much more hyped Mathis. He can turn a little quicker, but the speed and vision is the same. If you watch Ginn run routes, it is sloppy. His hands are iffy as well. He is a glorified KR IMO. I do not see him with a future at WR. I would not pick him unless he fell to the 2nd round.

The reason you never hear about some of the better players in college is because of guys like Ginn...People are addicted to speed and sometimes forget it takes more than a 4.3 to actually be a good player on Sunday...Ginn will probably go in the first due to hype....

Yeah. He and Troy Smith are both WAY overhyped. I still think the best QB on athletic ability alone is JaMarcus Russle.

I haven't seen Russle play but Im dying to see them play Florida...I like the Gators alot....I have heard a lot of good things about him though...I look forward to seeing him and Landry...

And yeah I think Troy Smith is a tad bit over hyped....I also think Quinn is overhyped honestly...
 
I dont really like Ginn. He is fast, but like others have said he is small. Also, in his first two years he had something like 6 TD's recieving. Thats only 3 a year. This year he has done better, but he is being targeted like none other. Maybe Calvin Johnson.

yeah i did. it wasn't a knock against palmer, i just really liked andre johnson (and still do).

and i was never that high on rogers. johnson was clearly the better prospect, just for his obvious size advantage and more physical play, combined with the great speed. rogers was labeled "soft" from the getgo and it showed in the pros, as well as his general lack of interest in the game. 2 years ago i called that he'd be out of the league in....2 years. i'm so smart!!!

russell is huge and has a cannon, but he's still a ways off from being a good QB. it's amazing how many guys that have huge arms try to force everything.

After watching him this season that is one of the things has greatly improved upon and i think why he is the number 2 rated passer in the nation (also because we havne't played anyone outside of auburn). the last two years he would just bullet every think and the wr couldn't hang on sometimes. I expect a huge game on saturday especially because the running game is non-existant right now.

Just because he is as fast as Reggie Bush, doesn't mean he's as good. Reggie Bush average 10 Yards every time he touched the ball.

LMAO!!! I went to FAMU one year.....I don't consider myself to have any allegiance to that school...still have some friends there....But I Cant stand the school.....

When we played Florida I just fell in love with the atmosphere.....
 
the level of competition argument is used too much. you grade the player, not the player's opponents.

horrible analogy, but okay.

it doesn't matter when you're grading a prospect. at least not as much as one might think. especially with D1 players. ESPECIALLY a runningback, which is a pretty simple position to grade. either they can find the holes and make the cuts or not, etc.

Just a random thought I had the other day. Espn came off the other night at the reopening of the Super Dome as the big caring sports channel. Wraped themselves in a wallowing of love for the victims of Katrina. Aty ESPN we gotta heart, and we care. But the fact is in our market, the Market with the most Katrina victims (160k by last count) in it, the katrina victims hurt most by the storm, every game so far has been pay per veiw. Nice espn. Just goes to show what slim balls you truly are. Wanna see the bayou bengals gotta pay up. Blood sucking, slim balls.

I'm a big fan of Ginn. I just don't see his game translating over to the NFL.

I'm on board this band wagon. He punked Texas' DBs. And he's a great tallent no doubt. I would rather have a tallented project behind Molds is all. Not another #1 reciver. Gains can't hold blocks in the running game. In this system, i believe that is paramount. We need other holes in the dyke patched first. I've got him in
the same column as AP. I'll believe Kubiack does this when I see it. He has a system. It's worked for twenty years. Why would he change...{read panic} now ? Might happen just don't believe it. He's got the cajones to pass VY & RB because they don't fit...what makes you think he's going to do a 180 now ? Inquiring minds want to know ? LIS, I'll believe it when I see it.
