bring on Adrian Peterson and jope he plays D!

NO PASS RUSH

Practice Squad
At halftime today, i found myself wondering, what defensive player can we get THIS year with the #1 overal pick. But our track record of drafting defensive players in the 1st round over the last 4 years SUCKS, only Dunta is Good! (Babin T.Johnson,Williams)-maybe if we get Peterson, we'll have a run gameand hope he play Defense! It wouldn't hurt anything, can't get ANY WORSE!!!!

Look, I really wanted AP. I still do actually. He is an amazing Rb. But the team needs a defense. So, we should pick defense.

I'm a bigger college fan than NFL, and I've got to say. I don't see a player in the country that is worthy of a #1 overall pick. We're gonna be looking at trading down if we get a top 2 or 3 pick - IMO.

It is way to early to assume that no college player is worthy of a #1 pick and i happen to think quite a few are worth it. Ted Ginn jr., Dwayne Jarret and a few others but i would like to see a full season of work before i judge. Having said that have each of you given Mario Williams a full season of work before condeming him? Travis Johnson(first season of starting full time)? How many sacks did Bruce Smith have his first year? 5 sacks thats it. Its easy in this day and age to want immeadiate results but expecting them is very unreasonable considering we finished as the worst team in the nfl last year.
Keep your head up !
PEACE

it's definitely not a good draft. however i feel there are some players who definitely deserve to go #1 overall. namely brady quinn, joe thomas, and calvin johnson. you guys need defense, so i'd trade down (IF you get the first pick, which honestly i don't see happening with the raiders, titans and bucs all playing as bad as they are).

Agreed, this draft is what i like to call top heavy. Lots of talent who can form into stars, very little depth. Its going to be effected mainly by the decision of Juniors declaring. If we pick top 5 go Peterson, If we pick top 10 Landry. Outside of top 10, pray for Landry to fall or go best DB or LB available.

Actually I think this is a good draft for some of the areas we need; Safeties and LBs.

OLBs
Paul Posluszny- Penn State
Earl Everett- Florida
Rufus Alexander- Oklahoma
Brian Smith- Missouri

MLBs
Patrick Willis- Mississippi
H.B. Blades- Pitt
Buster Davis- Florida State

Safeties
LaRon Landry- LSU
Brandon Meriweather- Miami
Tom Zbikowski- Notre Dame
Aaron Rouse- Virginia Tech
Michael Griffin- Texas

So with a good trade down to pick some extra picks, we could possibly get 2 or 3 of these players.

AP would be the best defender. He would keep the other offense from even getting on the field.

I do not now and never have believed that you use a top 10 pick on need regardless of who is available. Yes this team needs defense but it also may very well find itself in need of a franchise RB by the end of the year. If niether Dayne nor Gado steps forward and claims the job then it's also a need.

There are 7 rounds to the draft and it's possible to find quality players in all 7 of them. Taking a RB with the #1 doesn't mean you can't go get a good linebacker or safety with the other first day picks.

There is also a free agent period prior to the draft. Look at our defensive backs and tell me that veteran leadership isn't lacking back there. For a couple of years now we've watched the Texans stand still while older veteran corners who can play get signed by other teams. Dunta was a hell of a CB when he had an older veteran corner on the opposite side.

I'd like to see a draft with Peterson at the top of it followed by some defensive help in rounds 2, 3, and maybe even 4 if it's there.

I'd like to see the Texans sign either a veteran FS or CB in free agency and not somebody's cast-off project, I mean a serious FA corner or safety who can play in this league and who can take control back there. Then draft the other one.

Basically add a total of 3 starters to the team on defense this offseason.

I see your point. I would not have any problem with AP being picked. I would love it. Its just that our D is patheic.

Draft Adrian with our 1st and go D with most of our remaining selections. Ryans looks like a keeper and we got him in the 2nd. I also think we need to overhaul our D-coordinator position again.

i still dont think that we will have the #1 pick overall

49ers will i think

we will have from 3-5

so LaRon Landry is what im hopin for

49ers? have you seen them play? they're going to win some games. they're not even a bottom 5 team at this point.
