My Keys to Second Half Success vs. Washington

Okay, our Houston Texans trail the Washington Redskins at halftime, 21-7. Our Texans will start the second half recieving the football for the first time this season.

We seen some good things in the first half, but also some really bad things which have resulted in our 14 point deficit at halftime. The following is what I feel our Texans must do to have second half success and pull out the W vs. Washington...

-Better 3rd down defense. This has hurt us all year. We have been playing descent on defense today, then we can not not stop them most of the time on 3rd downs. We need to step up on defense, make the big plays and get off the field on 3rd downs. This would also be key for momentum.

-Prevent Fumbled Snaps. We fumbled snaps last week against Indianapolis and it hurt us. This week, we have fumbled two snaps in the first half, although we were fortunate enough to recover both of them. Still, this is fundamental, and I know David Carr is working with a new Center today wtih Drew Hodgon in place of Mike Flanagan, but we can not afford to fumble snaps. I think we will fix this problem in the second half.

-Mroe pressure on Brunnel. In my 'Keys to the game: vs. Washington' that I posted earlier, it was one of my keys, and it still is, and his stats say way. He is 14/14 for nearly 200 yards and a TD. We need to get more pressure on him now, and rattle him some. He has not been great the first two games this season, and we need to make him feel uncomfortable today.

I also said in my Keys to the game post earlier that it would be a dogfight, and it for sure is. Both these teams are playing physical football and fighting hard for their first win of the season.

I feel that if we come out of the first half and do the things I listed above, we can have success and earn our first win of the season, and make a great comeback. This could really be the turning point of our season, making a comeback in the second half and pulling out the W. This is obviously a huge half.

Hit The Frickin Man With The Ball...its That Simple And Dont Get Sacked Or Floop The Exchange

Mario needs to be the MAN on the defensive line and take charge..

The defense needs to gets some pride and start knocking some people around

Weaver/Payne/Johnson need to step it up too..

You're kidding, right? It's going to be another second half blowout. With us at the bottom, again, as usual.

Grow up and get a life.

Let me shed a little light on the subject for you....there are no keys to us coming back in this game. Defense stinks, defensive line gets absolutely NO pressure on anybody (in fact i think the d has hit themselves from making a play on the opposing player more than they have on the other team), Carr getting happy feet when there is no pressure, and dropping his arm and throwing from his hip isnt going to cut it in this league.
