In this mornings Chronic: Texans Summary
"If center Mike Flanagan is unable to play against Washington, he will be replaced by Drew Hodgdon, who is playing in his second season."
This to me makes much more sense than moving McKinney and inserting Weary in McKinneys spot.
Hodgdon ain't a rookie anymore. He is either your backup center or he isn't.
If he can't do the job then you need another backup center.
Moving players around the O line was Pendrys way of doing things and it just doesn't work. That just fouls up two positions.
In the article Kubiak states: "He (Hodgdon) has to step in if he's called on. It helps us keep our rotation at guard."
To me this is what seperates this coaching staff from the previous one.
Kind of refreshing to have a coach that understands this.
