How in the hell could Carr's play at QB be considered a positive? I can't stand stat mongers.....try looking at a scoreboard once in a while or actually watch a game....

POSITIVES
Mario showing a bit of heart at times
Spencer's X-Rays came back negative
Dayne looked good at times

NEGATIVES
Poor QB play until game was wayyyyyy out of hand
Inconsistent OL and DL play
Horrible play in the secondary
Too Many Turnovers; Not Enough Takeaways (see Poor QB Play/Poor D)

Great post, except when did Dayne look good? Gado looked good.

I saw quite a few good RD runs. They gave him the ball 4 straight times and gained 19 yards on one drive..then Carr started, well, just being Carr. The game was still somewhat of a contest at the time too. I thought he looked good for his first week as did Gado. I would have traded Lundy and kept Morency....

It's raining outside....Carr's fault.

Get a grip. Carr is not the problem. When he has more than 2 seconds to throw, he's a damn good quarterback.

Carr looked great again

Negatives:
We have idiot fans

He'll keep putting up great stats against 2nd and 3rd string Defenses in the 4th Q.

Wasn't that the hoora we heard about Sage this preseason about how good he did against 2nd stringers? LOL, you guys are amazing. Expect Sage to do no better when your line gives you nothing at the start and your RB coughs one up.

I know I'm going to have tomatoes thrown at me for saying this... but Glenn Earl looked good today... I don't know why we also had our other strong safety on the field (Because thats what he is, CC is NOT a free safety) ...

LOL

Positives: I'm currently going through my post losing game ritual of reading the Titans gameday thread... its SOOO funny lol.

(I also have the Chargers D on my fantasy team right now!)

I believe you are correct. Now if we could only get teams to start their backups we'd be great.

It's a little difficult to give a fair assessment of your Offenses performance, as they spent a good portion of the game against the Colts backup D and only scored significant points in 4th Qtr scrub time.

Getting 2 sacks on Manning (technically 2, but 1 was a run stop) was a definite positive. The Colts O line are the best in the league at preventing sacks, so to get 2 is very positive.

The Colts scored a lot of points on you, but that's what they do to everyone. You may struggle this season if you play blitz all day

"casual fan" observances

positives:
- garbage time or not - glad the offense worked the entire game
- Carr's stats - not much for the downfield, but that's what the Colt's D allows.
- passes were spread around
- Gado and Dayne looked good for just coming over.
- I'm glad (psychotic kinda way) that we're starting the learning curve v. high powered teams instead of setting false hopes by winning against sub-par teams.
- looked to keep Mario in one position
- we have a front office and coaching staff that makes sense and have faith in.

negatives:
- Texans played into Colts style - get behind early, force to throw
- DRob burned quite a bit - even one play looked like he gave up on the play by holding up his arms in a WTF mode.
- Oline is gonna take some time.... hope Carr is still around when they get tenured.
- fans showing their "internet muscle" against each other.

I expect wins, but I guess I'm also a realist to know when it may not happen. Still looking for that 8-8 season this year.

Carr looked great against the Colts 2nd string defense in garbage time. When it was still a game Carr choked.... again. What's his win/loss percentage again?

Umm, a TD is a TD. When was the last time he put 3 on the Colts? That's progress.

Oh, and in what twisted unvierse is 22/26 with 3 TD's not good? I dont care when they came, we never stopped trying and fought hard after one of the worst 1st quarters in franchise history.

Positives: Dwight Freeney: 1 tckl, o sacks.

Houston we have a Left Tackle

Negatives: Houston, our Left Tackle is hurt

When we 1.) Lose 2.)Look terrible on Offense vs a starting D 3.)Put up those stats when the starters are not in.

You are correct, we did not stop fighting - they stopped beating us up after the 3rd Q.

Positives:(non texans edition)

i see a few teams that, imo, are as bad or worse than us-raiders, titans, packers, browns, sf, detroit(cant score)

mcnabb torched the giants today and the excellent giants d-line got no pressure on mcnabb....also the eagles had 8 sacks (saw this game live-they lost but that was becaused they totally eased off in the 4th)

the giants are a good team so i thought that would give us some perspective...after today the eagles are my nfc SB team..

also manning and harrison torched the giants pretty good(though not as bad) too...

il wait till the bye before i write us off for the year ie i still think we could win 6-7-8 yet

Everyone knows what the negatives are, so I'm not really gonna mess with 'em.

POSITIVES

The OL started blocking better after McKinney and Salaam came in.

Carr was able to make plays past the 1st quarter.

The run game showed up today.

The defense got up in Manning's grille. Knocked him down a few times. Even sacked him.

Rich Gannon is a better color guy than Steve Tasker.

So the Eagles started their 2nd and 3rd stringers in the first quarter, and then brought in their starters in the second half? Check last weeks stats.

..:blah:

..................

I think it is the same as the rest of the team.

Concept hard for you to fathom?

Rhetorical question on my part, no need to respond.

:coffee:

Pos:

Mario Williams looked more agressive - He was right on manning several times and forced rushed passes. He did not stand around much like last game.

Gado Ran well

Travis Johnson was playing agressive

Neg:

We lost Spencer for the year

Our center seems to step on our QB's foot way to much

Our DB's got burned really bad today... Not sure why

Another positive....

Did anyone else notice that hit that CC Brown laid on Utecht?

Knocked his helmet off....that dude didn't know what hit him. :francis:

He looked like he was about to cry after he got up....he happened to notice that he had a first down after the birds flew away from around his head.

While both teams did a lot of player rotation, the idea that most of the stats came against 2 & 3 team guys is just not correct. I guess Mathis is now on the 3rd team or something. It wasn't until about the 4 min. mark of the 4th quarter that the Colts did a major shift of defensive personell, but still had about half of the starters in. The Colts were not just giving us anything. That's why Manning was still throwing deep at the 4 min. mark.

Lost, this week - Lost. I was more then happy to see him play well in the first half last week. Maybe next week we can get a whole game?

...just curious, did the Texans have their 2nd/3rd teamers on the field in the 4th qtr....don't know, do you?

I'm glad they kept fighting even if it was trash time . We just need to punt on first down for the first quarter against the Colts .

When Manning came in passing with 5 or 6 minutes left and winning by a lot ... the biggest negative I have is they did not knock him on his butt ... get mean , like the 85 Bears mean .

It appeared that whenever Carr got a little time, he completed passes. It is hard to see the field when all you see is the opposing teams jerseys in your face. RD and SG looked good but when things got rolling, Lundy was brought back in. Defensive line looked terrible and our secondary is non existent. I say blitz all the time. Atleast we would get some pressure on the QB. We would get burned but I believe that the opposing team would have to atleast change their game plan. Right now, IMO teams are using us for practice.

I love the positive spin you like to put on things but Carr wasnt so hot hot most of he's stat came in the fourth Quater when the game was out hand. i think even the worse carr homer will tell you he had a poor game.

our defense sucks also i think we need a complete Overhaul.
