Reasons the Texans will win in Indianapolis this Sunday

Here's why:

1.) There is no home field advantage in the NFL anymore.

2.) We looked fantastic at the beginning of the Eagle's game. I haven't felt that way in a long time about our team. We had confidence. We played like we were supposed to be fantastic - Offense and Defense.

3.) After the confusion of the McNabb to the wide open Stallworth play, we lost every bit of confidence that we had. It was like we reminded ourselves, "Oh yeah, we're a bunch of losers." That attitude will not stick.

4.) Kubiak and his crew definitely have something to prove to the world now. Peyton's Place would be the ultimate venue for that display.

5.) There is no alternative. We will win.

Yes highly agree this would be the ultimate win for each and every one of us on here, this is our year to win one of the two meetings.....:redtowel:
 
Offensively, we should be better this week I think, mostly because the Colts aren't much of a blitzing team. That means our run game should be much better this week. Colts secondrary is also not as good as the Eagle's. If we can max protect Carr a little bit from Freeny and Mathis and run the damn football, we should put up more than 10 pts.

Defensively, we just have to pray that our Dline has suddenly gotten better from week 1 to week 2. I just really don't know what else to say. Word is that the Colts Oline isn't that good, but I think it's really just because Peyton threw them under the bus. They're a pretty good group.

That said, we still got our backs against the wall guys. We need experience more than anything right now, and this is week 2. I'm looking foward to beating them with a much more coherant team later in our home stadium. :) I'm not much of an optimist; I'm more of a realist. But that doesn't mean I don't get excited on game day!!!
 
1. Our uni's are better than theirs.
2. Someone has to win the biggest upset of the year. Why not us?
3. The Colts have never seen Kubiak's offense...oh wait.
4. We have 1 more Heisman Trophy winner than them (doesn't that sting Peyton?).
5. We are going to unveil our new secret weapon, Sam Gado.
6. "H" comes before "I" in the alphabet.
7. The alternative is that we lose.
 
Plus the Colts are coming off a big road win on Sunday night. The scene is set. However, I don't see this happening.

No, no, no, no.

Here's my list of why we will win:

(1) Indy forgets to show up.

(2) New commissioner makes Peyton throw with his feet and not his hands. And after Peyton throwing three TDs with his feet, the commissioner makes the Indy WRs wear blindfolds for the rest of the game.

(3) We get to start every drive on the Colts' 20-yd. line.

(4) I load up Madden 07 on my PS2 and slide the "difficulty" down to the level of "Mentally Challenged," and I use cheats to boost my players' ratings.
 
Our secondary is our weakest link and a bunch of you guys think that they can hold up to probably one of the best WR core in the NFL and a Pro-Bowl QB. **** in one hand and wish in the other, then tell me which one gets filled up faster fellas. Just being realistic and not dreaming, that's all. I do expect us to be in the game and play better as a team. That's all I want and more realistic for me.

Dude, as a Tennessee fan, that was below the belt. Everybody Knows ESPN hates UTK. If you want proof, here it is. CHARLES WOODSON, DB/Return Specialist won the Heisman that year. How do you win the Heisman with Punt Returns as opposed to giving to the Greatest QB today? If this is the case. Don't bother watching the rest of the College Football Season...Tedd Ginn Jr. is gonna win the Heisman over Brady Quinns 4000 yard, 40 TD season.
Oh wait, ESPN likes Notre Dame.

Thanks for bringing back painful memories...But we won the National Championship in '98 with a guy named Tee Martin. We should sign ole Tee, just so we could have more Tennessee National Champions than them too. Plus he needs a job, I think hes bagging groceries now.

IT's going to be a shoot out...our D just needs one or two big plays and we might just get lucky. hey..anything can happen and even if we lose ,we got another chance down the road. 0-8, not for long.
 
Are you TexansAlltheWay from last year? Sounds very much like the keys to winning the game this week type of post. I think I'll wait till week 4 for a win. As long as we are in a position to win and playing well I'll be happy the next two weeks.
 
Well if all thats true then go to Gallery furniture this week and purchase 3000+ dollars worth of furniture and if the Texans beat Indy then you will get it all for free. They are suppose to be running the ad tomorrow(this is what my family told me don't ask me how they know).
 
As the saying goes any given Sunday. Truth is though Manning will likely carve up our secondary like a Thanksgiving turkey if last Sunday is any indication as to the play of our defense.
 
I hate to say this but Dwight Freeney is licking his chops thinking about going against Spencer. Noise bothered him in Denver, think what it will do to him in Indy. Scary.
 
The only way the Texans have a snowballs' chance in hell is if Peyton Manning loses his throwing arm before Sunday and is forced to pull a "Rick Allen," in which they still would probably win.
 
I must have stepped into Bizarro World, because I think some people said this game was winnable.

Here's what it would take for the Texans to beat the Colts.

1. Peyton Manning gets injured on the first play from scrimmage.
2. Jim Sorgi gets injured on the second play from scrimmage.
3. Adam Vinatieri misses a field goal, which bounces off the upright, goes backwards over 100 yards and goes through the opposite goal post to give us 3 points.
4. Repeat step three a few times.
 
We're going to lose that game people. It's just a matter of by how much. I would be extaticly SHOCKED if we manage to win that game. Maybe later in the year, when we've had time to gel and get experience and play at home against them, but not now.

The first drive and first half were not as good as some think. The skills players (most of them) were making up for bad line play on both sides of the ball. As of 1:00 left in the first half (and including all of the 2nd half), the line play got too bad for the skills players to overpower it, so to speak. No running game and no pass pressure on D. That'll devastate your chances. I don't think the sacks were all on the O-line, of course, but the bad running was.
 
Indy does have a weakness and its their running game. Right now the same could be said of us. I think we have more opportunity to fix ours, however. Despite what some want, running and an effective short passing game and keeping the ball out of Manning's hands are how you succeed against the Colts. Manning can get nervous too and doesn't like pressure.

We need to play our best game, but they are very beatible this year. I really don't believe they will have the record they had last year. We need long sustained drives that keep their defense on the field so that they can be worn down. We shall see.
 
I forgot one thing and that is if somehow Mario is able to get to Payton. Mario's best opportunity might come from playing inside against their young Gurards. That may be the weak point in the line. Sounds like our situation the last few years. If you can break through the guards it might cause Payton a lot of trouble.

If we can stop the run and get them into obvious pass situations and the front four can get pressure we may have a long shot at winning. Hopefully our DT's can get some pressure up the middle. The only way I have ever seen Manning rattled is by putting big time pressure on him.
 
I'm hoping for a win every week and I really want to beat Indy for the first time, but at this point all I'm hoping for is that we don't get beaten like a rented mule.
Now, having said that; when the Dolts come to Houston-Look out Payton :fireball: :francis:
 
If anybody can get through those guards, it will help tremendously.

Believe it or not, Travis Johnson could be the answer to that.

I was thinking the exact same thing as far as TJ. Seems like he did a 180 towards the end of the preseason, hopefully he can turn out to be the player he was expected to be now that he is in the 4-3.
 
while i do believe that this is the year we finally beat the colts.. I belive it will be in our second matchup later in the year.

Honestly, I'm not sure what will need to happen for us to win this one, based upon what I saw last week and knowing what kind of team Indy is right now. Sure, they are not as strong as they were last year, but that's still 10 times better than we've ever been. Indy would have to have a meltdown and shoot themselves in the foot, and we'd have to capitalize on their mistakes (much like that Pittsburgh game where we only had 47 total yards on offense and we won with 3 defensive TDs).

I won't be disappointed if they lose. I just want to see them compete and never give up trying, no matter what the score is or time left on the clock.

If you truly convince yourself that losing is not an option, and that you are supposed to win, then it doesn't matter where or who you play. I always try and look at the positive. I really did see some glimpses of a winning team last week. After the Stallworth touchdown, it seems like frustration and low self-esteem took over. We have nothing to lose. Everyone in the world knows we are going to lose. That is, everyone in the world except the absolute best fans in the pro football universe - The Texans' Fans. Most of y'all are incredible. There are a few negative folks that we could do without (like the few that already hate the team after one game). I am very proud to be a Texan (even though I am in Georgia). A few of Dunta Robinson's cousins attend the elementary school where I teach. He is an Athens, GA native, and yes, there is a nice little population of incredible Texans fans here in Northeast Georgia!

This is very important! This part of the schedule could be devastating to the teams moral. If they can continue to grow during this time instead of hanging thier heads (like last year), we'll be in decent shape in the latter part of the season.:yahoo:
 
At noon Sunday, we will be 53 grapes. At 3pm, after being stomped, we will be a nice fine red merlot. I feel we will have layers of toasted oak, sweet vanilla and nutmeg. Ahhh, tasty, said Peyton.
 
As long as we play to our fullest , and put some points up against them, and give them a run, like we did Philly in the first part of the game, we might win, we are long over due to beat the Colts........nothing would be better to beat them at home like they beat us every time here......

If that our chance of beating the Colts, I'd hate to see what ya'lls chances would be. I guess Manning would have to lose both arms and a leg.:rolleyes:
 
Dont forget, Mathis is a situational guy. If we establish a run game, he is going to be on the sideline for most of the game, allowing us to help out on Freeney. Corey Simon is also out.
Basically...
run the ball well
pressure manning
finish drives
prevent big plays
get a couple of turnovers
protect carr

thats the checklist...

Really, there is some football stuff in there. Not just stuff like Peyton Manning got ill from over-exposure.

We know the Colts are good enough that they can play a sloppy game and still win.

Despite the deja vu moments, we really don't know what this Texans team is about.

with the texans' atrocious DBs, i think manning could throw a touchdown pass every play.

Drob on Harrison...this would be a good time for Drob to announce himself to the NFL by shutting Marvin down.
Meanwhile, Reggie Wayne is not the deep threat Stallworth is, obviously he is very good (and on my FF team), but, for whatever reson, I think we can contain him.
