What a bunch of bi*ches you sound like. Believe me, I understand all the whining and the crying "I bought season tickets, I've bought direct t.v., I've bought jerseys." But nobody forced you or held a gun to your head to do any of it.

What do you think it is? Magic? That this team was just going to go out there and kick the Eagles a-double-s's and we would be on our way to the Super Bowl. Gimme a frick'n break.

I may say stuff like 16 and 0 and crap like that but it's all in fun. I'm no Kool-aid drinker, I'm a realist and any of you out there that actually think that this team is going to blow up the league this year are as high as a kite.

Like it or not we are back at step one with a new coach and more or less a new team. Geez, you would think you had been buying season tickets for 20 years like Cleveland fans, or Saints fans.

I'm not saying I don't get aggravated but geez, people watching and analizing the game four and five times is just pathetic. It's a game. Get over it. Take it for what it is and have a good time, if your life revolves around what a sports team does on a Sunday then maybe it's time to re-evaluate what you have going on.

Sorry to go off but geez, gimme a break.

Pretty much right to the point and needed. I seen alot to be excited about...

Let me be the first to say to you:

Boo frick'n hoo. If the best thing you have to do on a Sunday night is read this message board and demean its members for what they are interested in, then I think its time you re-evaluate your priorities.

No one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to read these posts, so why not do us a favor and do something else?

You think this post is constructive? Its not even about the Texans. All your doing is putting down people who care about the team.

Are we complaining a lot? Yeah, we are. And do you know why? Because all the progress we saw in preason in
a) pass protection
b)pass rush
c) running game

seemed to vanish come the 2nd quarter. Its frustrating. We want to know what went wrong, and to talk it over with other fans.

Want to make fun of people who re-watch the game looking for nuances? Fine, but why not do us all a favor and sit in front of your mirror so we don't have to lissten to it

There is way too much excuse making and general babble in this forum -- the Texans were just trounced by a team that went 6-10 last season.

Ok wait a minute. Are you saying we aren't going to the Super Bowl now?

or, to borrow a line from Full Metal Jacket...

"Sir ... does this mean that Ann Margret's not coming?"

i think he made some valid points. we cannot really be dissapointed that we got beat by the eagles. well, yeah, we can be dissappointed. but not devastated. the eagles are a good team, regardless of what some people think. they had winning seasons for a long time before their fall to a dissappointing 6-10 season.

the texans are not on the eagles caliber yet, we really should not have won that game anyways

I tell you what man. I'm the last one to EVER come on this board or ANYWHERE and talk smack about anyone, but what I see is just sad. People coming on here and acting like they know it all and think they have all the answers. If you're so sensitive that you can't handle a little smack on a message board than maybe you are the one that needs to step back.

I'm not personally attaacking anyone and I never have on here. I just think that people need to recognize this team for what it is and not get bent out of shape during the first game of a sixteen game season.

Yes. Preseason was great, but really, no matter what anyone think preseason is about evaluation of new talent. Sure, new schemes want to be run but in the end it's about finding out who is going to make the team and has no bearing on the season.

I'm sorry if my comments offended you, maybe I'm cynical from the Oiler days and know better than to get all worked up over piddley little things. Sorry, but all the chicken littles are getting tired. At least wait till we're 0-8 to scream that the sky is falling, not 0-1.

Nice quote, but from the way people talked you would think that she was.

I'm glad someone made this thread, I'm sick of all the whinning too.

Note to texan fans, you don't just flip a switch and wam....instant success. We unfortunately had to open against a very good team that is extremely hungry. The Eagles are a elite team that had one bad year, due to distractions in the locker room and injuries on the field. For some reason people around the country have written off the Eagles. Give the Eagles their due credit and stop whinning like little babies. McNabb is a MVP caliber player who is really underrated, especially his passing. I wouldn't be surprised in the least of the Eagles win the NFC East, handedly

The Texans will be fine, they will start off slow, but will enventually mature in Kubiaks system. Can we please give this team more than one game before we write them off and declare Mario a bust. The Dolphins started off slow too, last year, but the improvement was there at the end. Our schedule might not allow us to have the success many of yall were hoping for this year, but the improvement will still be there. Stop venting all your 4 years of Capers and Casserly frustrations and give Kubiak time, this was his first NFL game as a head coach, let him go back to the drawing board and lets see what happens.

Despite what everyone said, I seriously doubt anyone was actually EXPECTING a Texans win.

Many people were hoping, some were wishing, etc.

But I think after the opening, drive everyone EXPECTED better play. Thats what you guys don't get for some reason. None of us are b******* that we didn't win the game. I would have been shocked if we had. We are all whining that the team rolled over after the 1st quarter.

We made mistakes that no team shoudl ever make, and the 3 most glaring are:

No pressure on McNabb (7 seconds in the pocket??)
No running game from a Kubiak offense
Multiple pass protection breakdowns

If we just a run of the mill team, maybe these things would be so shocking, but I will start yelling about the sky when we seem to spend the ENTIRE offseason working on those 3 things, and then fail so miserably.

We have spent 3 1st round picks in the last 3 years on DL. We have spent $$$$$ on free agents for the Dl. And we still can't get pressure on the QB? I'm not talking everytime, just every once in a while would be nice. And on obvious passing downs

We have spent 4 years talking about the OL, yet we still give up 5 sacks in 1 game?

Finally, we have Kubiak, who preaches the run all the time, yet we average less than 3 ypc for our feature backs?

This is why I'm so scared, because the things we seem to have spent the MOsT time practicing and talking about werer the things we looked the absolute worst at

PS: VA Texan,

Your comments didn't bother me. What does bother me is that there are some very nice posters on here who just went through and rewatched the game a second time. I don't like you calling them pathetic.

Also, I find it stupid to complain about complainers. If you don't lke people complaining, you don't have to read it. Ignore me and everyone else who whines if you want

You're going to get smack on messageboards, just like you said, and on houston boards, you're going to get people freaking out after every bad game, because, we've been condition to be losers in houston, and we hate it

Sweet, I got a neg rep out of this thread. At least leave your name so I know who to thank.

GTex - I'm sorry that you have been conditioned to be a loser in the city of Houston. You know what, I went to a bar today full of Philly fans and had a BLAST. The Texans didn't win but I wouldn't trade today for anything because to me the experience is worth more that the win. Maybe I'm silly for thinking that way or maybe I'm just past wishing and hoping and basing my successes off of the successes of some millionaires who don't give a rat butt if I live or die.

I said pathetic and like I said, sorry you took it personal or if anyone else did. But I just love how everyone can whine and complain but when someone calls them on their complaining they get all upset. Just enjoy the ride man, you'll wake up tomorrow and the sun will still rise and the Texans will still be a pain in the ass to cheer for. All part of being a fan in Houston.

As for nice posters. I've been here long enough to know who the nice posters are and I am sure that they know me (well, may know me) well enough to know what my frustrations are. You can go through my posts and out of all of them I have never made a personal attack on anyone. Well, at least one that I can remember.

:wild:

Cute, a person who complains about people who complain. What do you expect? For us to come here and praise the Texans on this loss. I love the Texans as much as the next person and I know we aren't going to just stomp on people overnight, but teams change with every practice. What disappointed me and I assume most of us is that we did not build on the progress we saw in the pre-season. The mixture of blitz packages we saw in the pre-season was totally absent, our ability to open up the running game was also gone. I know regular season is different than pre-season, but c'mon the team didn't look the same at all. Things that didn't look good in the pre-season finally came together and everything else seemed to fall apart. I mean what do you expect us to do ignore everything that's not honkey dorey and not comment on the teams flaws. I mean I'm sorry if I'm not a genious, but last I checked I thought that's what message boards were for. Expressing opinions.

Agreed. Just do what I do when I am dealing with the pessimists, nihilists and defeatists.....

Bring on the negative rep. I have enough positive rep to spare. :wild:

Thanks! A true voice of reason! It is just silly to think that this team will make the play offs this year, maybe in a year or two! I'm really tired of the whinning that some fans, or so called fans here, pls bandwagoners get off & stay out! A true Texans fan are the ones who are patient even through tough & dissapointing times! I truly believe that this a great organization- owned by a good owner, who hired a great front office & coaches!:) :superman: I know I'm stickin' around like I have with the Houston Rockets for over 25 yrs.!:mario:

Wow!
One game and it's all doom and gloom. C'mon, get real. It's a long season. I really didn't expect to beat the Eagles. I was hoping, but, not expecting.
I have to agree with Carr Bomb. The Texans will be fine.
Houston fans need to chill. I remember back in the day, one loss would affect the ecomony. The world was coming to an end.....Friends, it's just a game that we all love. Don't let it control your life to the extent that it causes emotional problems.
Love the Texans
Support the Texans
Keep both eyes open
Just my opinion.

Nice post Mike Moffat! True Texans fan NEED to unite & be realistic...this team will get better sooner than later!:mario: :)

Hey, Hey, Hey don't go tossin these Houston Fair Weather Fans in the category with Saints fans. Hell I was born and bred on Saints Football and am a life long Fan. We are used to losing except for a few years Mora had a good squad on the field. Fans still flock to the Stadium and have hope that this will be the year. Plus after the storm that is all the city has right now. If you want to know passion then Saints Football is a trademark.

Texans haven't been in existance long enough, nor this fan base long enough to be put in our category (hehehe).

But since I gotta live and work in Houston and I like football I am gonna support the Texans also. Been a season ticket holder since first season.
