After watching the first game today, what does everyone want to see, Carr or Sage in game 2 against the Colts.....David looked good at times today TD pass to Moulds, and looked bad a few times tripping on his own feet and holding onto the ball in one of his four sacks.........so what does everyone think.....I would like to see Sage against the starters somewhere down the road just to see what happens, after reading so many post from all of you on here, it's been hard for me to side, but would to know how everyone feels after today's game that counted........

Why? ... why? ... WHY!!!!?????

Carr.

Just one Carr hater so far, where are the rest of you that, could not stand this guy in the pre-season, I knew everyone would jump back and ride the Carr again after today......:ok:

Carr did a heck of a lot with very little help. I'm sure the thread from earlier in the week will pop up about how if the running game isn't successful, then the Texans won't be successful. We saw first hand how that works out. There were five sacks today, four by missed blocks, and Carr only had one pass batted down. If we can get some balance and some blocking, he could be a very good quarterback if he plays like he did today.

Why does this remind me of the 2005 season when everyone was begging for Ragone to start? Whos he play for again?? Anyways, Carr looked good today and in control despite getting sacked 5 times (once by himself). I think he needs to do a better job when he dumps off to our RBs (he screwed them over afew times), but other than that, he looks vastly improved.

That's what I'm looking for some optisum here ! I told my wife the Carr haters will be hiding :hides: today........

Wide out in the open tex...

and No.. Carr still is the QB of this team and shoouldnt be benched til the end of season ifhe doesnt improve much much more.

Halfway through the season. If Carr shows a consistant progression from last year it's his job to keep, if not I'm willing to see what Rosenfels can do.

I put sage but I dont really think he would have done any better. Sage is a herb and I love me some herbs.
Didnt Carr looks great today? Lets hope he can keep it up!

I figured I'd put this thread in now eventhough I don't believe it, but some of you are just incredible.

I honestly think there is nothing this guy can do that would make any of y'all happy. (and i am one that says if he isn't playing well.. kubiak will take him out)

i picked carr but i think things need to change a lot..... stop the short passing ***** aj and moulds are great doing slants also go deep damn it aj almost always can beat his guy and catch it

Carr is NOT the problem. the lack of blocking is. Name one QB who could have done any better. McNABB had all the time in the world to throw. Why is it that good QB's have good O lines and bad ones dont.:brickwall

Can't remember the exact moment but I think it was around the start of the 4th quarter & David had his helmet back on ready to return, thats when I first thought to myself that if the Texans wanted to try and win this game that would have been the moment to insert Sage, because the offense was dead. Now that does not mean that David is still not the starter, because he is, but in game situations you need to make adjustments that allow you to win games, regardless of how crazy it may seem. Then one way or another we would not even have this discussion, I just want to win games regardless who or what it takes.

Carr.

There is a reason why Sage is on his third team in a very short time. I'm not going to give my opinion as to why that is because I don't want to get jumped.

He was a backup to Gus Frerotte! Don't tell me you think Gus is better than Carr.

Sage is good when he is thrown into situations where there is no pressure.

When he's given a week to prepare and its on his shoulders he folds

100 votes right now, and it's 86% in favor of keeping Carr the starter.

Interesting.... :hmmm: Looks like true 'Carr-haters' are a minority of posters

I picked Carr because 1) he's Kubiak's choice, 2) a QB controversy right now means we are resolved to a losing season, and 3) he had a decent game yesterday (with the except of a couple of plays and 5 sacks...which were mostly not his fault)

Yeah why don't we get behind this guy so that he can play with the confidence he needs to play with to be a leader for this team.

Carr played about as well as he can and therefore he deserves another start since we pay him so much money. Having no turnovers was huge, but there was plenty not to like if you really break down his game without the emotion that a Sage/Carr thread will yield.

Carr starts next week no ifs, ands or butts. Why do people feel that a change is even debatable at this moment in time?

I'll vote for carr the second he shows to me that he can lead his team to victory consistently. He didn't, and hasn't shown me he can hit .500. Until David starts winning, I want somebody else in there. PERIOD.

LOL never understand this one. What's the standard of "victory consistently?" Career winning record? Super Bowl title? Kind of like demanding a new steering column because your car doesn't work, when your fuel injector is inoperable and your tires are flat. Never mind that the steering column is perfectly functional. Football is a system and a team sport.

You're questioning the judgement of someone wearing a Vince Young jersey standing between two Texans cheerleaders .....

How about sniffing .500 this decade? Or is that too much to ask

You're right, it's all Carr's fault. Always has been.

Anybody but the most biased observer of yesterday's game would have picked out about ten things that needed improvement besides David Carr's 100+ QB rating. He wasn't perfect but he played one of the best games he's played in a long time.

I've read your half-baked arguments for inferior quarterbacking where the rest of the team has been primarily responsible for whatever wins you attribute to said inferior quarterbacks (e.g. the Falcons winning in a horribly diluted conference on the strength of their run game and defense, but nooo, that was all Mike Vick.) It's fine for you not to like the guy or to like a second-rate QB like Vince Young -- and to have your own reasons for it -- but your attempt to base it on game performance is weak.

For perspective--this comes from someone who will attibute the Falcons win to a 45 completion % 140 yds passing QB rather than to the dominant D and 250 + yds of rushing.

I like Vince, the cheerleaders were hot, and I feel i looked damned good.
I like Vince too...except for the interception....

i wouldnt go that far calling it a superbowl team but the eagles are a good team we were outmatched in every category well may be except wide reciever but anyways we should be used. David Played Ok so it wasnt completely his fault.
