SMITH RETURNS TO TITANS DEFENSE

The Titans agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent Robaire Smith on Tuesday, which will give the team more depth at defensive tackle.

Smith, who spent his first four seasons (2000-03) with the Titans, rejoins the roster after being released by the Houston Texans on Sunday.

''It is great to have Robaire back,'' Titans GM Floyd Reese said. ''He had a hand in our previous success and adding his ability to a talented defensive line rotation should lead to more success.''

Titans veteran defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth said Smith's presense will help the Titans run defense.

''I think we were the number one rushing defense in the league when he was here,'' Haynesworth said. ''So it would be a great start and hopefully we could get back to that."

Smith has played in 82 career games with 370 tackles and 16.5 sacks for his career. Last season in Houston, Smith had a career high 102 tackles and two sacks.

I wonder what he is being paid? I read the Texans didn't want to pay his salary and only be getting a back up tackle out of it, which is why he was released.

yea i heard the same salary had alot to do with it.
 
Well good luck to him as an individual, but I hope his team finds itself in perpetual last place.

I'm still a bit surprised we let him go.

but it peaked my interest....
can you provide a link to the Peter King / Bill Polian thing.
 
Based on past performance, Robiare will have two good games per season and both will be against us.
 
Robaire is once again a Tictac....didn't take long, but was almost positive he would end up there...should be interesting when we face off two times a year.
