Fox Sports Predictions for the year

NJ Texan

Practice Squad
http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/5934082

AFC South
1. Colts 11-5
2. Jaguars 9-7
3. Texans 6-10
4. Titans 5-11

Texans: Domanick Davis is done for the year in Houston, placed on injured reserve. The ball now belongs to sixth-round pick Wali Lundy as the starting running back, who has emerged as a Gary Kubiak favorite. The presence of Eric Moulds will help both Andre Johnson and David Carr, who will have more time to throw behind the Mike Sherman coached offensive line.

And check out the RoYs

Offensive Rookie of the Year
DeAngelo Williams will win it, beating out Marcedes Lewis and Greg Jennings.

Defensive Rookie of the Year
Demeco Ryans will win it (Not fellow Texan Mario Williams!) ahead of Kamerion Wimbley and Manny Lawson.

Interesting stuff.

I could envision DeAngelo Williams winning the ORoY .... He was quite possibly the most complete back in the past draft .

As for Demeco Ryans , Its good to see some people outside the Texans fanbase give the guy some props . Considering he will start at a premium position I think he has a great chance at winning DRoY , No doubt he will put up numbers .... A lot of his success and failure will ride on the four guy's in front of him including Williams . The more attention Williams gets the better Ryans looks .

Not much of a reach, considering that LBs have won the award in 6 of the past 7 seasons (Peppers in '02 being the exception).

I personally like the fact that they are not even considering the second pick in the draft as ORoY.

Best back out of the 06' draft has to be Lawrence Meroney, or how ever you spell it. That guys a beast, I think he will get ORoY. D-Wreck should for sure get DRoY!

That's because they know he is all "hype" and playing with NO and that O-line, things ain't gonna be as "peaches and cream" as everyone else thought.:twocents:

This is probably the most favorable article I have seen to date. What is going on in the word of sports? Are people actually realizing that the Texans will do well this year? Hmm...

I agree...IMO, He has looked like the best rookie back so far...

Exactly.

Its going to be a rough year in Orleans. Sure hope they spend 5 or 6 picks next year on linemen, heh

Who is this guy and who do he plays for? I'll be sure to keep an eye out for him.

They should trade Reggie Bush for an entire line.... they better do it soon though while he is still worth that much. :bananasplit:

Falcons...he is the reason they felt they no longer needed Duckett...

hrm...wonder if Reggie Bush will be this years version of Ricky Williams :p

And perhaps the Texans will turn out like the Eagles...picking McNabb over him, heh

My thoughts exactly.

Man, I wish we could have traded up to get DeAngelo Williams. I like Lundy and Morency, but I think DeAngelo Williams is going to wind up being the best running back in this draft.

We wouldn't have gotten Ryans if that would have happen. This is one of those toss ups, but I think overall we are better off. I know Vinny thinks so..

Yeah, I think that not trading up has worked to our benefit. Because we would have only ended up getting 1 starter most likely, now we get to in Lundy and Ryans.

If we had traded up to get Williams I couldn't have complained, and I can't complain how our draft ended up the way it has.

That's true. I didn't think it completely true. The way I was thinking it was we would have ended up with Ryans and Williams which obviously would not have happened. While I would have liked to see Williams with the Texans, I wouldn't want him over Ryans. Good running backs are much easier to find than good linebackers.

Reports were the Texans offered their 2nd and 4th to move up. The Bills out bid them by offering their 2nd and 3rd. So to get Williams, the Texans could have out bid with their 2nd and either 3rd since it would have been higher than the Bills.

The draft then might have looked like: M. Williams, D. Williams, Spencer on the 1st day--you'd lose both Ryans and Winston.

More likely we would have had to give up one of the 3rd rounders which would have cost us Spencer or Winston as well as missing out on Demeco Ryans . I think I like what we have now as opposed to what we could have had with a trade .

Spencer , Winston and Ryans Vs. DeAngelo Williams and Either Spencer or Winston.

.... I do agree that DeAngelo Williams is probably the best all around back in this draft but with the system this team uses I think spending a high pick on a RB is a mistake at least to this point in the Texans roster development . :stirpot:
