Texans fourth most valuable NFL franchise

Houston

...............up $100 mil from last year despite going 2-14.

Hmmmmmmm. The Girls are #3..........and how many more years have they been around?? And how many years of "America's Team" paraphenalia? Could the difference be accounted for by the new T.O. bobble head sales?? Good job, Bob.

I think any team that's an expansion team is going to be in the top 10 in terms of value. I mean, how much did McNair have to pay to have the franchise here? $800 million?

But the market still has to support the team to hold it's value. The Texans would not be on this list if Houston fans hadn't risen to the occasion for five straight years.

We're #3 w/o a new stadium. Once it opens, we'll take over #1 by a wide margin.

From all accounts, that is going to be one awesome place. I look forward to (someday) making my way up there for a game. Perhaps when the Texans play there again in 2014.

Without a new stadium?? So what! We are number 4 without having a championship. Your point??

lest you forget the cost of the complex is incorporated into the numbers.
Take a look at the purchase prices of the top 5 teams:
Dan Snyder - $750 million
Robert Kraft - $174 million in '94
Jerry Jones - $150 million in '89
Bob McNair - $700 million in '02
Jeff Lurie - $185 million in '94

Redskins - New stadium, large purchasing price.
Patriots - New stadium, ton of recent success.
Cowboys - Well?
Texans - New Stadium, large purchasing price.
Eagles - New stadium, ton of recent success.

And you don't think a new stadium will be a boost to Dallas' value?

I didn't even realize it's going to be that long until they play another regular season game against one another in Dallas.

2009/10 Pre-season game?

I actually think the fact that the Cowboy's still ahead of the Texans despite their expansion purchasing price of $700 million, is quite amazing. You stick in Cowboys Park set to open in 2009, the Cowboy's take #1 quite easily.

The Cowboy's are the only one out of those five teams with a 31 year old stadium. Which still does not looks it age. If someone were to ask me how old Texas Stadium was without knowledge that it was built in 1969, I would honestly say around 1990 or so.

yeah, I'd love to check out even a pre-season game in that stadium. The artists renditions of the place are simply amazing.

What the hell are you talking about?

Hey junior don't come back on this board till you learn how to form sentences or your balls drop! Whatever happens first OK!

BTW-That place is a dump not only is it the worst NFL stadium it might be the worst stadium in all of pro sports.

Forming sentences? Way to bring something up totally irrelevant to the thread. I'm not one to go off and bring up rules or crap, but there's no need to go out of your way to try to embarrass or belittle a fellow poster. Try to act like an adult, and talk football, instead of calling me out.

Message boards are for the exchange of opinions, and that is honestly how I feel about Texas Stadium. I'm sorry that you disagree with me, and are forced to express your feelings with such personal attacks.
