We are rated at 24..."It's going to be totally unfair because of the positions they play, but people are going to be comparing Mario Williams' and Reggie Bush's numbers all year. But the one number that will matter for the Texans is wins, and they should be better there."


Also they say about reggie bush - "Reggie Bush is going to be some kind of fun to watch. That said, he's going to learn pretty quickly that running side-to-side in the NFL doesn't work as well as it did in college."
 
Anybody else hear Stewart Scott on ESPN last night go over Reggie's numbers and then make an excuse for him "like well if that was one game that would be awesome."?
Then all they talk about is how Williams didn't get any sacks.
 
I think that ranking is completely fair. We have not won a single game in the regular season yet. I think we should have been ranked above the Lions, but we are ranked high considering we only had 2 wins last year. :)



Pound that rock!! I think our team is 5th in rushing in the preseason. :francis:

Safe to say BSpn is not the place to go for unbiased texans coverage.

I say there's a 25% chance that Reggie Bush becomes a third down specialist rather than a every down back. A lot of it will come down if he can be coached or not. If he listens and changes his college running style he can be, but if he tries to reverse the field to often his numbers will stink.

I think the size of the Houston market is probably influencing those numbers higher than they should be. If I have noticed anything from those polls the local populations are AMAZINGLY bias.
 
I am impressed they put us that high. That is a good thing. i am also with Riotcommander we should be above lions. but hey we are not 30th anymore!!

Well they must have looked at Texans Roster, checked out some game stats and realized that Vernand Morency did more than that in ONE GAME against St Louis Rams:jumpbanan

SAD I bet they are having a group hug over in Bristol and saying it was all a fluke "WE demand a recount until Reggie Bush ends up with higher stats":sarcasm:
 
What are people complaining about? In the first post, ESPN basically praises the Texans, and talks down to Reggie Bush. #24 is probably a lot higher than we deserve to be.

And that poll about the Superbowl only proves that a lot of Texans fans just felt like flexing their homerism.

I agree. But being a homer I still would like to always see the Texans get more praise.

But I am surprised by the rankings. The Dolphins I guess are so high because of thier cake schedule, but the Ravens, Cards(I betting they are going to be a lot better), and even the Saints(please dont throw anything at me. I say this because of Brees not the Reggie Hype) arent ranked higher. But, atleast the they got the Panthers right. This is a topic for another board though.
 
So far Bush seems like a situational RB that will get good yards here and there. Best case I can see him as a Brian Westbrook like RB who can catch passes as well as run when needed but not too often.

Knowing Scott's personality, I read that as a sarcastic jab at Bush. Kind of fits his sense of humor. Of course, I didn't see it...
