All I can say is WOW!!!!

What a game...

It had it all. Solid hits, long passes that were caught by WR's, short passes and medium passes to TE's, a running game. Fumbles, sacks, int's....

If you didn't go to the game or watch it on TV, all I can say is WOW, you missed a good one.:yahoo:

It may just be pre-season, but I think we sent a message that the days of us being lovable losers are over. Any quality franchise wants to put a good face on every time it hits the field (i.e. franchises like the Denver Broncos that always put up solid pre-seasons), and that's exactly what the Texans did this year. I can honestly say given what I saw on the field that it isn't a reach to expect 7-9 wins out of this bunch.

Yeah, I'm still concerned about our CB's pass coverage, our OLBs and we need an extra WR.

FA anyone?

Yeah guys remember it is just preseason....we should be wanting to lose these games.........

moving on.....a good game is a good game. I found it pretty enjoyable....congratulations Joppru.

He really should change his nickname. That Jax doesn't stand for Jacksonville.

Hey, if you have a choice, and you can either win or lose, WHY would you want to lose like we have every other preseason game in years past. What would the reason be for that? We didnt' even have to try that hard to win, we just have depth. Finally! Thank God for Gary Kubiak and crew!!!!!

If you don't thin it is great that we won three preseason games, then you are nuts.

I am originally from Louisiana and an ex Saints fans. I remember one season that the Saints went 4-0 in pre-season, When regular season came around, they sucked like always!

I'd rather think of it as foreplay!:fortune:

IMO the telling game was Denver, the guys overall looked really good in enemy territory. I can't wait till they open the playbook the rest of the way!

iT may just be preseason, but that Denver Loss was the Best Houston Texans game I'd seen in a long, long time.

This game was alright.

It's clear we have the kind of depth this year that we've never had before.
And the intensity of the game in the 4th quarter up to the very end was impressive.
The crowd looked very sparse, but seemed to fill in later. Heard the traffic was murder and many fans were very late in arriving ?
Officially it was probably a sellout, but wonder what the actual number of fan
turnout was ?

That's interesting cause the new SI faults the Texans for depth. As has been posted earlier, they are predicting us as bottom-basement of the NFL at 3-13. I think we're going to surprise a lot of people when we aren't in the Quinn sweepstakes.

At least from the preseason outings, it seems pretty clear that our second team guys are pretty good. We will have to wait and see if that holds true in the regular season, but for the moment, it looks good.

Didn't matter to me if you called this a College game with the U of Houston against the U of Tampa Bay. It was a good hard hitting football game.

Did anyone see the Tampa Bay running back try to pull an Earl Campbell on the Texans defensive player #42? He stuck him right in the chest, of course he fell down too so it wasn't a repeat. But nice hit none the less. Helmets were flying from hits and all.

I could of cared less if it was starters, back-ups, or pure high school players, it was a good game...

Congrats on not being able to read a sig. Unless you have them turned off....then....well my bad. I think sigs are on by default....and after i got the sig up no one made the mistake since so I'm really not too worried about it. No change.

Regardless thats not an anti-Texans post?? I was talking about the fact that everyone says 'oh don't read into the postseason' and pretty much acts like all if it is completely meaningless. But they are still games and it's not like it makes any more sense to suck in them and lose them all. Can you imagine the discontent on this board and in Houston if we hadn't have been winning them? To make a long story short....if you have watched the games....you can see the Texans are exponentially better....both starters and backups (not to mention it isn't like we were leaving our starters in vs. other teams backups) whether it is preseason or not.

Exactly. Just a bunch of times people love to play buzzkill. I mean I understand if someone said "HOLY CRAP WE ARE GOING TO DOMINATE BECAUSE LOOK AT OUR PRESEASON!!!!!!!" but it isn't that....it is someone just saying it was a good game....and then someone telling them it basically isn't because "it's just preseason."

Well if we lose a couple games out of the gate we could always just tank the rest of the season and have Brown start shanking balls into the parking lot again. That would be cool.

@#$%@! I want to draft Quinn.
(but not bad enough to wish for a losing season)

And I'm a confirmed Carr booster.

Thanks for clearing that up, Captain Obvious.

The fact is...it's a sport. It's meant to entertain. It was entertaining.

Got it?

ESPN, Fox Sports, SI...they all suck like a hoover vacuum as far as I am concerned. then they will act like they were trying to challenge us to be better. I would say feed them to the pigs, but PETA and Humane Society would sue for feeding pigs waste by-products:rolleyes:

I hope we prove all of the so-called experts wrong. They can kiss our grits! Let's go out and kick some butts. Being on the selfish side here, if we start winning some games, maybe I'll get a chance to see them on t.v.......I'm sick of 49er football. I can almost tolerate the Raider Nation. I might have to get a satellite dish installed.
