John McClain On The Radio in Nashville

Old School Texan

Practice Squad
John was doing his regular guest spot on 104.5 The Zone here in Nashville. A caller asked about DD wondering if Houston would maybe think about a trade with Tennessee for disgruntled running back, Chris Brown. McClain told him there is no way Tennessee will trade with a team in the division. McClain then said he does not see DD playing at all this year.

The caller then got smart and said to McClain, "I bet you all wish you got Bush now, huh?" McClain pointed out to the caller that Lundy has more yards then Bush in the preseason. He then stated he's no Bush, but if you play fantasy football, you might want to get him on the waiver wire.

The General can't recall the Babin trade? I guess McClain really has forgotten more than most of us know about football.

Maybe his memory has been hampered by choking down too many cheeseburgers. Geesh, he's going to be Andy Riedish before we know it.:hides:

Well, I suppose if we were willing to give up something really stupid (the Babin trade), then the Tacks would trade with us. Somehow, I don't envision Kubiak and Smith pulling one of those at this time.

am I only one who thought John McClain couldn't wait to write negative things about Texans after Denver game, I think he will spend of most of season looking like a vulture in a cartoon. You know hanging over Texans saying "Should have taken Reggie, Should have taken Vince". I personally plan to give him as much attention as I do Jerry Jones...NONE AT ALL!!! BTW is Dale Robertson john's kid he seems to have same poison pen as Johnny Mac:crutch:

word here is that VY maybe the starter game one and Volek will be traded to SD or Clev and Collins was brought in to back up VY.................

Thank God for Bud Adams!! Just when you think he is doing something weird, he proves you wrong and proceeds to blow up his team....Vince Young sets rookie QB record for number of interceptions in his 1st season, No one will ever touch that mark:shoot:

Why does the Texans' "Beat Writer" have a regular show on radio in NASHVILLE, which hosts a team within the Texans' division? How does the Chronic or whomever let this guy get away with this? That is ridiculous. :challenge

I wonder about that too. Sure, he may love Vince Young, but does that mean he has to have a segment? I mean, we don't have a Cowboys writer have a segment down here. Yeah, it may be different because the Titans used to be the Oilers, but does McClain still root for that team? All the players linking the Titans to the Oilers are gone. The only person connecting the Titans to Houston is Bud Adams. Other than that, the Oilers are history.

And Jeff Fisher. He was the last coach of the Houston Oilers.

VY will not start. They know he is not near ready and they're going to try to protect them like they did with McNair. I figure that's why they brought the battle tested veteran in. After what Volek said yesterday, I think he is probably on the way out. Collins will probably start, with VY 2nd string, and Matt Mauck 3rd.

Bongo is a little closer to the Titans than we are....just a tip

It'll be interesting to see when they do start Young. The franchise took it's time developing McNair, which paid huge dividends in the long run.

I've seen examples of both - immediately starting a rookie QB vs. benching him to learn the game - and we can see mistakes and successes in both camps.

Personally, I think teams are wise to wait, which is what I thought they should have done with Carr. Let Banks take all those sacks the first couple of years so our young QB could learn the ropes instead of trial by fire.
