Who will be the worst team in the NFL this year?

AFter looking at Green Bay last night against Cincy, My first thought was why doesn't Favre retire from the game he loves so much.

But here is a list of some big time loser teams INMO this year...

San Fran
Cleveland
Green Bay
Tennessee
NY Jets
Detroit

But who is the worst in your opinion?

jets or 9ers

SOS will determine the brady bowl. right now, without looking at the schedule, i'd say the jets are the worse team. in fact, i think the jets are historically bad.

I remember a similar thread from last year when we were trying to predict who would have the first pick in April '06. NOBODY said Houston.

I'll go with the 49ers (I think they were my pick from last year as well).

This is my take on the 10 worst teams based on recent transactions and strength of schedule: 1.) Saints, 2.) Texans, 3.) 49ers, 4.) Jets, 5.) Titans,
6.) Raiders, 7.) Lions, 8.) GB, 9.) Bills, 10.) Browns

Titans and Packers are the frontrunners for the #1 pick in 2007, the 49ers, Saints, Bills, and Jets are all also in pretty good contention.

So would Green Bay take Brady Quinn if they have the worst record?
That is a tough question. My first thought would be they would trade out of that spot to gather more depth, which they need allot of. Kind of like we were last year,,,

hmm, would be kinda ironic

Peterson was recruited by UT while Vince was there.

be wild if Titans draft him (if he comes out) and VY and A.Peterson get to be the 1-2 combo (yes i know they drafted white high, but brown probably gone after this season and who knows with Henry)

just to stir the pot

...actually I sense Favre is going to wish he just retired

Cleveland. Pre season game against the Eagles McNabb put up 71 yards in two series. The only guy for them who wanted to play football was Ken Dorsey.

I say Houston will be close to the bottom again.. With No Q.B, lousy recievers, and unstable at runningback. I really don't see how Y'all will be able to put up points... you're Defense maybe can keep you in the game but you have no offense...
I know y'all will bash me cause i also like the Saints. but let me say this... The Saints will not be to far from the Texans at the end of the year.. I think we will be able to put up points but our Defense SUCKS and will give up more points.
Just Really Trying to be Realistic about it all... New coaches on both teams and it'll take a few years.....

Lousy WRs? Andre Johnson and Eric Moulds are a top 5 WR duo in the league, whereas you guys just traded a legitimate starter and your #2 WR for a backup RB, not sure what your front office was thinking on that, but it definitely improves both Stallworth and McNabb's value in fantasy league this year.

We will have a solid running game regardless of whether Lundy, Morency, or Domanick Davis are running the ball (Domanick isn't looking overly likely at the moment, I'm hoping Morency is the #1 guy with Lundy getting a decent amount of carries as well). We need to improve our pass protection some and keep moving the pocket since David Carr doesn't seem very confident sitting in the pocket thusfar, if we can do that our offense will be pretty solid, although it will probably take another year for the offense to get going fullsteam, and our defense definitely looks like it will be solid. I'm not expecting the world out of us this year but I expect at least 6 wins, I think we are definitely capable of 8 wins with our schedule, and I could see us possibly getting as much as 10 wins. I don't see the Saints, Titans, 49ers, or Packers possibly getting above 6 wins and expect more like 2-4 wins out of them.

I'm not trying to compare teams ,just pointing out things that both are lacking..
Moulds and A.J a top 5 combo? are you serious??? I guess so since you posted it.. well wake up from the dream and look at the numbers: in 10 yrs moulds has had only four 1,000 yard seasons, and only 10 TD's most in one season... A.J in 3 years has only had one 1,000 yard season and 6 TD in one year. And now they are gonna be in the TOP 5 with a QB like david carr????
I'm not trying to start an argument just talking about reality.

It's a Texans' message board, the drinking of Texan Kool Aid is expected.

No you are not. The Texans have one of three combos of two starting WR's who have both gone to the probowl within the last 3 years. This is where the stats hit the toilet--they may not be top 5, they are certainly top 10 and DC's would agree they are much better than you are making out. QB is another issue.

Sleeper pick-- Redskins.. Really over-achieved last season, winning final eight games by somewhat of a fluke.

Team's in salary cap hell, in the toughest division, Brunell is questionable, Portis is banged up, bad FA pickups IMO-- Archuleta, old safety past his prime, Randle El- payed like 30 million for a 3rd string WR.

YEA I know what you're saying but I'm a Texan fan also and just hate to see the UNREAL expectations from this board... I think most people here never go and look at the numbers at what some of the players they got. Which, if you do it does not look to good. whether if it's a player from last year or one off free agency the TEXANS don't look to promising.... (I am not speaking of the rookies cause we really don't know yet) I really hope they do good.....

You think the Saints are going to put up points, but your defense will lose games....

but we are not being realistic??

What would we do around here without people like you keeping us grounded??

Oh yea, statistics are big indicators of a player's real ability.

Can somebody please enlighten me, why are the Titans nicknamed the tacks on several message boards i've seen?

Because their sorry ass logo looks like a thumbtack. The only thing worse than the Titans logo is their revolting color combination. Their uniform design looks like a 7th grade home economics project that got a C-.

7th grade? that's being generous.

thanks, makes sense

I don't think it'll be the Saints. They have definitely upgraded at QB and they have a good running game. If they can somehow manage to keep games close they'll win a few maybe they shouldn't.

The Niners..seem to just be in a funk. Don't know why; bad drafting, bad coaching, whatever it is but they are not good and I'd put them near the bottom.

But my vote goes to the Titans. If Vince plays the whole year it'll be a tough year for them just because he's a rookie.

What makes you think VY is going to play the whole year ? If any at all ?

Worst Record: San Fran

It's just my opinion. I think they'll go ahead and let Vince play this year. He's their franchise right now. Might as well.
