Chris Brown Speculation

I was for keeping DD, but if this is true, I have to say bye-bye DD. Eventhough I love what the guy gave us since he got here, I like the ideal of Lundy,VM,and Brown. DD situation just makes me more pissed at Capers and crew.:shoot:

I don't believe it. You have to say where you heard it (or read it) first. Providing a link would be nice also.

This rurmor holds no water to me until I see it on an offical site. Brown has been as injury prone as DD. Why would we want the same problem? It makes more sense that we would trade for a CB, LB or S.

I'm hearing multiple unconfirmed reports about this on various message boards. If it's a rumor, it's got legs. We'll see.

Lets assume it's true...does that mean smith is definitely gone ?

Yeah, as well as DD, unless he is PUP

DD can't be put on the PUP because he passed a physical earlier this offseason. You can only be put on PUP if you failed the physical. So it's either keep him on the roster, cut him, or injured reserve.

I don't have any written confirmation yet, but rumor has spread like wildfire across several message boards I frequently visit.

And Jeff Fisher just announced Travis Henry as their week 1 starter out of the blue.

Maybe the 2 teams are just finalizing the paperwork before it's officially announced.

Well Kubiak said Lundy will be the starting running back so I don't see why they would trade for Chris Brown. Lundy will be backed up by Morency so how much playing time would Brown really see if this rumor were true? Unless they are really desperate and they don't think Lundy or Morency will cut it for an entire season. I don't know..it's just a rumor for now.

Yea I read that about Travis Henry on the Tacks board. Interesting...

Well of course Kubaik had to announce a player we had as a starter, and it was Lundy by default. This doesn't mean Kubiak is sold on Lundy (a 6th round rookie). Brown would be a nice upgrade. He's a good pass catcher too. I think he'd start right away with Lundy and Morency backing him up.

Oh yeah, and DD will be be going bye bye!

Kubiak said DD isn't going bye bye

Morency, Lundy, Brown, and Davis look good to me personally.

Edit: Nothing on the net, so rumor is invalid at the moment.

Hey I like Chris Brown too. I followed him since his days in Colorado and I think he'd fit in perfectly with our scheme. He has the injury bug and I don't know how healthy he is but if it were true I would be happy with Brown. I don't see him starting right away but probably by week 2 or 3.

Above link is really old back before TC. - been around a few times....

Back then Iwas hoping Thomas Jones would shake loose of the Bears since Benson was named starter and Jones asked for a trade, but cedric got injured - again... So jones is back at starter, but maybe next year he might get free for a good trade. Something to look at in the future for sure when Benson is healthy again. I'm sure Jones will push a trade real hard next year if he's not given equal consideration as starter.

On Brown trade - Havent found a direct link stating the trade info, but here is a link to the Titans naming Travis Henry as their starter for the first game. Alot of head scratching and speculation going on at the 'Tacks' board about this move after his play in game 3. Sure early on he was asking for a trade, but later said he wanted to stay a Titan long term - Fans @ the 'Tack-board' are talking like its a good thing to trade Volek and Brown to get depth for the team. I think Brown just wants a solid contract and not have to move around alot and with 2 other starters competing in Tenn - its gonna be hard to get reps.

They also are reporting our rumor that were getting Brown.

IMHO doubtful we will get Brown as its not usual for teams to trade with a division rival.

.

Titans owe us one after the draft day trade a few years ago :heh: or maybe that was part of Casserly's master plan :stirpot:

(not saying Babin was a bad pick, just saying they need to return the favor ):challenge

funny quote here from flamehead 2nd post

Yeah, I like the reply he got where someone wrote "Send in the Clowns".

We already did. We sent them to Tennessee in 1996. What they didn't understand then was that "the clowns" had already arrived. They just took a couple of years to get "funny".

How come nobody in Nashville is laughing? I thought everyone loved clowns?

He missed one game last year. One.

Stop it with the "He's just as badly injured as DD" mantra.

I highly doubt we got Chris Brown there has been no links to notify anything from today. I like Chris Brown a lot but if we have to give up to much it wouldn't make sense if they really believe in Lundy and Morency.

Here's two other articles - Basically it says they are going to play alot of Henry and White with Brown mixed in this past weekend. The supposed ideal here is they are showcasing Henry for a possible trade and they think Brown isnt going anywhere and that none of the 3 backs have seperated themselves much to be the starter.

----

Titans Coach Jeff Fisher is changing the order in which he’ll use his running backs this weekend.

Instead of going with Chris Brown early, fans will see a lot of Travis Henry and White, with Brown mixed in.

One can’t help but wonder: are the Titans showcasing Henry?

Chances are, Brown isn’t going anywhere, despite attempts by his agent to get him traded.

The coaching staff is high on White, and his availability on special teams gives him a good chance of being active on Sundays.

Already, Fisher has said the Titans might not be able to dress three running backs on Sundays.

If Henry looks good, the Titans might get some phone calls from teams needing a back.

Training camp and the first three preseason games have done little to settle the debate over whether Chris Brown, Travis Henry or LenDale White should be the starting running back.

Henry is the only one who has scored a touchdown but his 2.5 yards per carry average is the worst of three. Brown has averaged 4.3 yards, but he has done all of his running behind the starting offensive line.

Not only has no one emerged as a clear-cut leader but there also is no one who obviously is worse than the others. Trying to pick a pecking order is like trying figure out on which wall paint dries the fastest. There has been nothing exciting about their competition.

I'm not going to get excited about a completely groundless rumor but I'd like to ask everyone what their thoughts are of Chris Brown in this system. I'm often guilty of not paying attention to football that doesn't directly involve the Texans so I see Chris Brown twice a year if I'm lucky and the rest of the time I'm not paying much attention to him.

What do you guys think he'd do in this system? Would he be a good fit?

There is no trade for Chris Brown rumored in Nashville. I've listened to both sports shows here and all they are talking about is the Kerry Collins signing. Chris Brown is the Week 1 starter for Tennessee.

As posted in my links above - The titans have supposedly tabbed Travis Henry as their Opening day starter - not "Chris Brown' - that he is listed in name only. Also according to the local paper - theres still no front runner for starter at RB in Tennessee. - See above links for the paper articles.

Chris Brown and Travis henry are junk. This rumor was probable started by some wishful thinking Titan fans hoping to get draft picks for their "RBs"

I only saw him play in his first NFL game. He was very north and south. The announcers mentioned back then that he could be prone to injury because he also runs standing up.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Luv_ya_blue again.

I wanted to give him rep for crushing the rumor on the Titans Board.

Can someone do the honors for me?

I think someone is going to a lot of message boards, then posting something then going to other ones and saying look what is happening, in others words it is all a bunch of Bull-Dooky. you ain't got a link, you got nothing but someone blowing up your skirt:twocents:

I couldn't care less. Lundy/Morency

While I would like to have Chris Brown, I have to agree. If we do trade for Chris Brown it better be a low pick/player. We don't need Brown unless they're really trying to get rid of him and we're going to get a good deal out of it. Kubiak has shown with the fact that Davis could get cut that he has all the confidence in Lundy and Morency and that they could handle the load. I wouldn't understand if we used a pick to get a RB when we don't even need one and when we do need a CB. Us trading for him a few months ago would have been logical, but with our situation right now, I couldn't believe it if I see it.
