Best, Worst NFL Organizations

SI is a garbage mag full of fluffy journalism. (except for the swimsuit issue, of course) ;)

Meanwhile, the Houston Texans are listed as one of the top five most valuable franchises in professional sports.

No respect, I tell ya', no respect!

They also have Denver as one of the best organizations. Didn't they lose draft picks for some deals they made that violated NFL rules? Sounds like a classy organization to me. :thumbdown

NFL teams can gain and lose respect very quickly. Not going to mention the teams losing respect.

Ill do it for ya .... they are called the Tennesee Titanics . Im happy to watch them sink into the depths . :hehe:

Lets all have a laugh at Bud's expense !

Earn it? im not gonna go into that. Earning respect on sportscenter is one thing.. that comes from Ws. earning respect with the players around the nfl is another.. that we have already done..

Unfortunatly.. you cannot expect NFL players to understand the word "classy". They based their votes more on how often the team wins, and how much they pay, than whether or not they are a "classy" organization.

but look at the way the poll worked.

"Based on a survey of 354 current and former players. Players couldn't vote for their own teams"

As a franchise that has only been around 3 years.. we have not had a chance to earn a reputation with players around the NFL. Very few players have played for us and left.. and the players with us right now couldnt vote for us. So obviously we are going to have a smaller percentage of votes.

Texans Whip the Budboys, 20-10

Hows that for starters.
Makes a lot of sense trolling on the MB of the team that just kicked your teams arse. Real bright.

Well cosidering it was players who voted in that poll i dont think it matters ! They play for whoever will pay !

Uh oh FLUUSSSHHHHHH helping bud one sh*t at a time !!!!

I definetly disasagree with the Texans being ranked as one of the worst organizations. Dont they have like a 23 home game streak of always being sold out? That's pretty impressive

Folks don't get too bent out of shape--that was a poll of 342 FOOTBALL PLAYERS that weren't allowed to name their own team. Given that 2% is 7 guys out of that, I think it is fair to assume that some 9 wonderlic guys misunderstood the question to be what team should be lowest in the power poll, or they were some of the 60 players that have come and gone from the team and are PO'd they couldn't make an expansion club.

OK, let's pay for Reliant Stadium with a tax on sewer water. OH WAIT, that was Nashville's idea. Nah. Remember, flush a toilet and make Bud rich! :hehe:

Noooooo..... dont flush ... the plumbing leaks.
Dont worry teton fans....Bud has suggested a 'ticket tax' to make needed repairs. Better agree or he will take his team somewhere else. :BananaWav

ROTFLMAO!!! :thumbup

Man, that is funny! So many slogans come to mind...unfortunately, in a family forum, I can't post any of them!

We Texans fans know what we've got, so honestly, I could care less about some uneducated poll in a fish rag like SI.

20-10...isnt it time for you to leave?
This is the type of nonsense that opens the "pandora's box" in a second.

I can respect that you can "hate" us, because our team beated yours many times, because for all the Bud Adams nonsense hate against him, instead of you guys hating the City of Houston for not being supportive to a "traditional" team. (being a "traditional" team is not the important matter, what matters is being a football team that can be a contender for higher levels).

And then just your team had beatten ours once, and your team defeated a Titans' team that is weakened for so many injured players (12 in total) and you are telling me to leave?

Come on, get real!! Your team is still on the stage of development, your reconstruction stage has been working in the way it should, but the Texans haven't still proven not much yet.

I think that your team will show what is really made of until the next season, our teams belong to the toughest divisions of all in the NFL, so "don't press that pedal, still, because you are still inside a dangerous curve".

Taking things one step at the time, is healthy. Maybe the texans play marvelous this season, and start defeating all the strongest rivals, and blah, blah, blah. And get to the SB and win it.

But who knows? maybe that can happen maybe don't. Reasonable talking, I say that isn't happening from now, from how things are. But anything can happen.

Titanico--I certainly will not suggest you should leave, but how about contributing something new than injecting the same arguments into a bunch of threads?

And folks, if you think it is a troll (not specifically you Titanico)--don't feed it.

The "accuracy" of this poll can be summed up pretty quickly: How do they explain that both the Broncos and the Browns are on BOTH LISTS! idonno:

I don't get it. If you are a Titans fan, why do you use the name TITANICo?
He can foresee the future of their franchise. ;)

About that worst/best poll .. if 354 players were asked their opinion, that 2% voting the Texans would be about 7 players. That's nothing! ...how many players have been shown the door around here in the last three years?

I'll lead off with this:

1. The poll itself is stupid. "classiest" vs "worst"? Wouldn't "best" vs "worst" make more sense? Seeing how two teams (Cleveland and Denver) made both lists, I would have to agree with myself. And had I bothered to read the entire thread, I would've noticed that disaacks has already pointed this out.

2. I don't think franchise value has anything to do with this. Houston ranks 4th/5th in franchise value but was on the "worst" list. Washington ranks 1st in franchise value and was also on the "worst" list.

3.

I'm not sure what to make of it. My head hurts.

4. I'm too busy trying to figure out what I just read to list a 4th.

5. Ah, I'll give it a shot...

I can respect that you can "hate" us, because our team beated yours many times, because for all the Bud Adams nonsense hate against him, instead of you guys hating the City of Houston for not being supportive to a "traditional" team. You can respect the level of hate from Texans fans because the Titans have had a better record against the expansion team the first two years of their existence. Apparently, their hatred towards Bud Adams is nonsense because no ill will has been thrown at the city of Houston for not supporting the Bud Adams owned Oilers.

Am I even in the right area code?

And then just your team had beatten ours once, and your team defeated a Titans' team that is weakened for so many injured players (12 in total) and you are telling me to leave?

The Texans beating the Titans came as no surprise because the Titans have many players that are injured this season. The Texans have shown a lot of improvement compared to their expansion season but have yet to prove anything else.

Am I close? If so...

Where were these injuries the week before when you put up 48 on Green Bay? What determines the length of "the stage of development"? Have you not been following the league lately? Carolina was 1-15 in '01. Two years later they're in the Super Bowl. In case you haven't kept track, the Texans are two years removed from their expansion season (when they went better than 1-15).

I'm still having trouble what you were trying to point out.
