Drew Henson will not be on roster for Cowboys

who did we get for him? I remember a draft pick in the deal...

Edit: It was Morency, apparently we had a couple 3rds that year. Still a pretty good deal.

According to Mickey Spagnola on the official Cowboys site, Drew Henson will be getting cut, and not available on the 53 man roster this year.

This is a shocker!!!

for Drew Henson.

Obviously THAT deal went over well for the Texans, with Henson now basically being cut by the Cowboys.

Okay you bash the man hardcore but this time give Casserly his props because this is one deal that worked out the way he wanted it. He specifically drafted Henson as trade bait and we got a RB that just may be the starter this year.

Yup, the wailing and knashing of teeth when CC picked Drew was LOUD, but have to admit, it worked out pretty well. He gambled and one. Others he gambled and lost on.

Now with Tony Romo battling Drew Bledsoe for the starting spot, there's no room for Drew.

I just said "Tony Romo" and "starting spot" in the same sentence..........

In my estimation all three of the QB's the former regime took were reaches. Carr, Ragone and Henson have been disappointments per the expectations set by a front office and staff, that time has bore out they were over their heads in many facets of the game.

Ha! Ha! You took Henson!

I don't think Bill ever gave Drew much of a chance so I guess it was practice time and camp snaps that didn't impress him.

He won't be out of a job long, he's made a ton of money for carrying a clipboard and he's still young.

IIRC, he started a game last year and stunk it up. Still, I agree with you on giving him a chance. Maybe he and Bill didn't get along. Who knows? I don't think I'll lose any sleep over anything that happens in dallas. TO will fit in nicely there too.:francis:

One game isn't enough to evaluate a guy. Bill never gave him a chance.

But that's his job. He's the expert.

There are 3 teams interested but off the top of my head I'm drawing a blank as to who they are. Minnesota may be one of them.

I think he's done with baseball.

He never started last season. Where you got that, I have no idea.. Romo was the 2nd-stringer all of last season.

In 2004 he did start one game, playing one half-- the annual Thanksgiving matchup vs. the Bears. He played like any rookie would thrown into a battle against a defense like the Bears- 4 for 12, one int.

The week before he was 6 for 6 with a TD vs. the Ravens in the 4th quarter I believe.

I agree with most, Henson never really got a chance. But the move to cut him was the right one, with Tony Romo lighting it up everyday in practice, it wasn't nessacary to give the guy such a paycheck.

He really didn't do that bad over Europe in the summer. Before an injury set him back, he really did a solid job.
