Predict the score for the game

TexanSam

Hall of Fame
I've seen this on another board I use, so why not try it on this one. Everyone make a prediction on the score, and whoever gets the closest can start the prediction thread for the next game. And in case there's a tie, predict the leading rusher and how many yards gained.

My prediction:

Texans 27
Broncos 24

Leading rusher: Wali Lundy, 80 yards

Broncos 35 Texans 14. Sorry guys but the depth on the Broncos is really good. Jake is better than David, and Cutler is hell of alot better than Sage. Texans will get better, but the Broncos are way to much of a better team all round. Plus we're in Denver. This is going to be a fun game to watch. These are my two teams...hmmm....who to cheer for?

Texans 24 and Broncos 21. Both defenses are going to be tough and it's not going to be that high of a scoring game, because of the climate up there in Mile High.

Broncos 27
Texans 16

The leading rusher (for the Texans) will be Morency with 85 yds. The leading passer (at least for the Texans) will be Rosenfels, but not because he's the better QB.

We'll get one sack in the second half. It won't be Mario and it probably won't be Peek either.

It will take Kris Brown to keep us in the game.

Sorry y'all, as much as I'm hoping the Texans win this game, I don't think they will. Unfortunately, I think we will be brought back down to earth (But it's been fun up in the clouds the last couple of weeks!) with this game. The Broncos have too much depth and are well coached in their system. I'm just hoping Kubes has them ready to play and it's a good close game, and we won't embarrass ourselves like the Titans did.

Broncos 30
Texans 28

There is no doubt who to cheer for......either you're a Texan....or, you're nothing!
Texans...........21
Orange Crush...14
Morency with 74 yards.
:redtowel: :highfive: :fans:

I think it will be a tuff game, we havent faced a team of this caliber yet, but I think Kubiak will have a few tricks up his sleeve .

20-17 Texans

Carr is gonna see alot more action this week & that should be the difference not to mention Kubiak knows what Denvers going to do. Still this would be another huge step for the Texans to make after the embarrasement last season.

HOUSTON 30 DENVER 27

The key i think will be how our 2nd team D does against denvers 2nd team O which is a tremendous challenge for us. I still take us in a close one

17-13... we wont score alot but i think carr will finally take full control being able to play 2-3 quarters. :texflag:

Denver's #1's are better than ours, and I think their depth is as well. I'll say Denver 31-21. Don't get me wrong, I want us to win, just giving my honest opinion. I think we will look improved over the last two weeks, we're just running into a better team. :twocents:

I doubt very much that we win this one. Broncos are have more talent and more depth and are a legit SB possibility team. If we stay within 10 points of them I will be surprised.

Broncos - 30

Texans - 17

Texans - 17
Broncos - 24

We will be in Mile high stadium, using their systems to a large degree. And they have been doing it a lot longer. The score is also based on the fact that I expect their starters to play one half to three quarters.

Sorry to throw cold water on some of you, but I think we may get a wake-up call in Denver this weekend.

Houston 24

Denver 21.

I believe Shanahan and Kubiak are going to go toe to toe on this one...:boxing: :fight:

You think Sage will out perform DC in one quarters worth of playing time?

Broncos: 24
Texans: 10
The Broncs have just looked too darn good compared to us thus far.

I think we are going to win this one. Denver's first team didn't score against Detroit for whatever reason, but they did well against Tennessee. I think we know what makes Plummer tick, and we have the defensive line to do something about it.

Texans 21
Broncos 17

This hurts me to say but the Texans will be playing a team that has real chemistry and continuity in both players and coaching and they have real, quality, depth. In addition the broncos defense, obviously, sees a similar offense everyday in practice.
Our secondary will be challenged beyond their collective capabilities, I think, especially once the starters are out.

Broncos 34
Texans 13

If we controll the line of scrimmage, on both sides, and Morency/Lundy go-off rushing as a result and Morency/Lundy pick up the blitz, we could make a game of it, even win.

Even though I feel I am an optimist, I have to pick Denver 24 - 21. I don't think we are quite there yet with the chemistry on the lines, and they will be picking on our secondary which looks like it still needs some work.

However, considering they have had much less change to deal with and the caliber of talent, if we are within 10 points it is almost a win for us.

Morancey rushes/recieves for 101 yards. (Our real bright spot for the night.)

Texans 31 Denver 15-FG's only, Rusher Lundy 107 yrds.

The Texans FG comes in the fourth quarter on the last drive.

17-14 texans, leading rusher - vernand morency w/ 88 yards on 13 carries and a TD late in the 4th qtr to help us pull out the upset.

i agree with this prediction.

well if we absolutely had to pick the texans, i picked it to be a low scoring game where one big play on either end could be the deciding factor.

Looks good to me. I hate betting against my own team, but the realist in me says they are just the better squad at this point in time.

as much as i love my texans, i just dont see them winnin this. i see the first team goin out and doin decent, but when rosefels and cutler enter, cutler will finish us off.

21-17 Broncos

another negative prediction is that our mysterious lack of turnovers will catch up with us, im thinkin an int for each of our qbs and...i dunno. 4 sacks? hopefully 1 for mario....

leading rusher is the underdog CHRIS TAYLOR!!! lol, i dunno why, but i think he'll rip a big one. um, 76 yards.

in reality tho, i personally dont think morency will be able to keep up his performance from the game with the rams, and lundy will be the leader, but hey, this is just for fun.

Everyone that hasn't seen Cutler play will get a chance to...The game that I saw him play he was an absolute beast...

Your not funny. Not close. Pick a point in the universe that is farthest from here, triple it and then add 100 yards. Thats how far you are from being funny.

Jerry Glanville is going to be our next head coach. That statement is funnier than yours. Thats how unfunny your post is.

In fact:

:boxing: :sumo:

Take that.

:fireball:

And that!

As much as I hate to say that my boyz are going to lose, I think that come the 4th qtr, Cutler is going to lead them to a game winning fg or td. For the first 3 qtrs, our 1st team is going to play pretty good and hang right there with Plummer and crew. Series 4 series, drive 4 drive we are going to be right there. 4th qtr it starts to unravel.

Texans=20

Broncos=21

I'm going to assume you watched him when they played Detroit. He was 16-22 for 192 yds. He was pretty darn good that game. The game against the titans wasn't as impressive, 6-12 for 99 yds. The stats against the titans are what I want against us.:redtowel:

Denver 31
Texans 17

Denver is on another level right now. More experinced in the offensive system, better overall talent, playing at home. I look for Denver to jump out early. Texans stay close for a while.

Pretty much what I am thinking.

Except the score.

Broncos 27
Texans 13

Morency 60 yds +-
Taylor or Lundy 40 yds +-
Carr gets sacked 3 +
Moulds 4+ catches.
Daniels 5+ catches.
Rosenfels finally shows why he is the second team QB.

This is if the starters on both teams play most of 3 quarters.

I hope the guys go out an make my predictions look foolish.

:coffee:

I'll just be happy-regardless of the score-if Carr has a verticle passing game instead of dink/dunk.

I think you can expect a lot more Dink/Dunk this season until they respect our running game enough to put 8 in the box. Carr has throw so many INTs that I'm sure he has been coached to go to the TE / RB a lot more. Still it wouldn't hurt for them to try a few downfield at some point. =)
